DO 002 759 Scranton Jul 22 1973

Fred Oltmann 8mm home movie. NKP 759 excursion to Scranton and back. July 22, 1973. Train stalled on some greased rail and was "rescued" by a pair of Geep helpers. This caused late turn at Scranton and night run through Delaware Water Gap (last scene).

Watching this makes me realize how used to video we’ve become. This is old school film with no sound. A modern cell phone would record clearer video and sound also. Just shows what 50 years can do

....the last 15 years has been amazing enough! 8mm home movies were pretty much it from the 1930s to the 1980s - Super 8 from the mid 1960s, then with sound in the 70s. Video tape after that in improving degrees, but, as you say...
