Out of all the reactors' I've watched, you are the only person that mentioned that his Lackland experience was God's intervention and probably his defining moment. You are absolutely correct, we don't want him in the military that might put all his talent in danger. My son is a USMC vet. Served this country that he loves proudly for 5 years. Planned on retiring from the Corps. He was in the process of re-enlisting after being recruited/recommended for Recon and had successfully passed recon screening... when he pulled his re-enlistment papers due to poor leadership/command. Honorably discharged with the plan of enlisting into the Army so he could continue to serve. USMC handed my kid his DD-214, waved bye and fed him to the wolves. No transition support, no guidance on how to adjust back to the life they trained him to forget, no nothing. Spent 4 of the 5 years on other continents and 1 in an active combat zone. He made it 32 days in civilian life before being attacked and intentionally triggered and getting arrested for restraining his attacker....he has been incarcerated for 15 months, attempted the "S" word after being left in a position to do so after begging arresting LEO to kill him.....he still has not given a statement, or a trial lol...not even given the public defender he applied for...told he must have fell through the cracks. Denied his right to due process and many others. I have spent 15 months reaching out to VA, VJO, 22 for life organizations and every other vet "support" group and have hit nothing but brick walls....He was waiting for a call back from the VA to start services at time of arrest....still waiting lol, so they act as if he doesnt exist. The courts blame the Corps for the delays......My son was abandoned and forgotten by the Corps and country he will forever love....no longer a necessity. I have a hard time agreeing with your statement. I appreciate and respect all vets and service members, it disgusts me how they are treated by the government. They deserve the respect and access to the help for the scars from the sacrifices they made so we can be the USA
