I lost 25k on a job for hiring the wrong people doing this pattern. I love it but would never try it again on laminate, tike and glue down hard floor absolutely.
Nope. Prefinished always looks crap, and prefinished herringbone looks double crap. Good herringbone is sanded and finished on site, and uses a inset border, to emphasize the h bone and make the floor really work. Its hard/ impossible to do inset border with pre finished, one of the reasons herringbone needs finish on site, the other is all the ugly popping edge lines of pre finished, a lot more than usual with h bone.
I’m a flooring contractor……. And I couldn’t agree with you MORE ………… side note: herringbone is NOT the hardest to install, it’s a difficult layout at best.
