- Listen, sis, if there's something you want to do, JUST DO IT! I'm so f'ing proud of myself. I swear I was stressing about how to do this floor when I thought about redoing this closet. I sent on #UA-camUniversity and found the first video from @homedepot, and I kid you not it was like a quick 5 minute video on how to do this. When I watched it, I was like "omg is that easy? "... hell yeah, I can f'king do this! And let me tell you one thing about me. If I think I can ...I can and I will. I'm gonna arm myself with the knowledge on how to and get it done. So if you're thinking about this you can.
Laying this floor was quick and easy. It took a #newbie like me 90 minutes to this by myself.
Tools I used and think you should have for your project:
Underlayment (should be based on your subfloor)
Laminate ( this one is Mohawk Revwood Kingmire Chestnut )
Instaform profile (transition strip from flooring to tile)
Hammer/ mallet
Laminate floor kit (I got mine from @homedepot) it includes the wedges spacer, steel pull bar, and tapping block
Saw or laminte floor cutter (I recommend saw it has more uses)
Painters tape (optional)
Tape Measure (optional)
Let's go start that #diyproject. You go this💪🏾😘

I seen so many people try and act like it’s so complicated but you made it seem easy I’m about to install some right now
I thought the same thing too. I think it gets tricking when doing stairs but a room is so easy. One day I'll try my basement stairs😤
If you’re just doing a tiny room and you start off an outside wall it is this easy but if you’re doing a whole house transitioning from multiple rooms it’s a bit more complicated.
@@Whoreallyknowsnot only that but the room has no weird curves or a closet so doing a square/rectangle is pretty simple
it’s square room😂😂😂 no fancy cuts
@@Whoreallyknows also depending on how you start the first second row 🤧
90 mins I know men that it would take 2 to 3 hours for a job like this great work ms lady !!
Women are better than men huh lol smh
🤣
Its a tiny ass room 💀
@@TheCunninghamFamily_tiny room or not you did everything by the book ! Perfect cuts and you didn’t do the “stair “ method 10/10 . Is it sad that you’re the first video I seen it being done right ?? Other videos were of guys doing it too. Crazy. Good job !
Took me 3 days! My back n knees were outta commission! And you did this in 90mins!? Yea you a beast! Turned out great too!
In my defense the room was small. And yes my back and knees where done too 😢🥵
TBH, this is just a short but it is the most helpful video I've found
Glad I could help.
Very well done!
Thank you
Wow awesome! Great value add to the property!
600 20 min videos and you answered all my questions in 30 seconds. Killin it!
Smashed it!! Well done 👍
Thank you for sharing this! I've been wanting to tear out my carpet and put in laminate but been nervous about messing it up. This is encouraging.
Not hard at all
You just motivated me thank you 🙏🏽
I'm going to do it myself too thanks for the encouragement
ISO needed this. I have a loft bedroom with terrible. Absolutely. Terrible carpet and I was like. I cannot sleep in this room unless I do something. What's this carpet? But I didn't know what to do. This was absolutely perfect. And it would make the room a lot cooler as well! Thanks love! ❤
Thank you for the video and encouragement. I’ve been going back and forth on whether I install them or leave it to the professionals lol. The room I’m doing is about 15x15 so I think I got this.
Oh, 15x15, you definitely got that, sis😏💪🏾
Well done lady. I'm proud Of women like You👍
You just gave me hope!!! ❤
Love this! Thank u for the amazing positivity you give & bring!
Holy shit someone who actually puts ríen underlayment! So many people don’t! Awesome
That’s because she’s actually using. It looks like an engineered wood flooring not a LVP, which is vinyl planks that already have the underlay attached to the bottom. Very different
Awesome job! Thanks for posting….you’ve encouraged me to do this myself…
Lovely job!!
Thank you
Looks great.
Thanks
@@TheCunninghamFamily_What's the silver underlay called that you used?
You are a champ!!!
Wow, you’re awesome 90 minutes ❤
thanks
@@TheCunninghamFamily_What's that silver underlay called that you layed and how thick is it?
Very impressive. You make it look easy. And as a single parent I feel like I can handle anything that comes my way. Yet, I’m afraid I’m in over my head.
You can do it!
Big respect
GREAT JOB 👏🏽 Congratulations it looks awedome! 👍🏽

Thanks for sharing
You’re welcome
90 minutes ….impressive Lady.
Thanks
Thank you very much
My dad built our entire house flooring
Facts
Baseboard has to go back in, after u paint it great job.
Even though you say it’s so easy I’m still nervous to do something like this 😢😂
Don't be
and it 's ok to be. But you can do it. start with a small project and build your confidence
We all started somewhere. I've been in the Housing industry for over 35 years. I still get a bit apprehensive on certain projects. Someone told me a long time ago. Take can't out of your vocabulary. Get out of your mind. It doesn't exist because no matter what it is. You can 😉
Came out awesome can you tell me what's under the panels?
You made this look easy! Im still a little scared to try though. So no tools needed or having to cut the laminate?
LVP will not expand if you open the boxes in the space and let the material acclimate to the space.
You’re amazing! Great work!
Thanks
Your a beast
She Melonated like me ❤️
Did you staple the underlayment?
I Gyatt to install mine
@TheCunninghamFamily what is the name of the silver thing you laid before the laminate
Are you free tomorrow? I’ve got 75 Sqm to lay down 🚧🚧🚧 congratulations!!!!
😅
How much did it cost please?
Girl I need help. What underlayment did you use
What tool did you use to cut the laminate
Is it hard to cut the laminate?
Amazing work girl! How did you cut the sheets in desired size?
I didn’t have to cut the underlayment
@TheCunninghamFamily_ how to you cut the actual flooring?
Great job! It's so good you show how women can do this too! :-)
thank you...yes we can😉
this video shows a woman doing a very small amount of flooring, it doesn’t particularly show how “women can do this too”. This comment is purely idiotic and you can get the same “information” from a guy doing the same exact thing.
Come do my basement Plz. LOL
What about if ur subfloors are aweful?
The tack strip removal was the longest and toughest 🥵
Yes😭😭😩
What is that shiny black at the bottom?
is that a foam underlayment?
Thanks Sis.. you just inspired me to do mine.. already bought the flooring just need to go get the other stuff.. but question? How did you cut off for the measurement.. did you use a blade to cut then knocked it off on the step ladder?
Yay excited for you. I used a blade for a few and the saw for others. Luckily there wasn't too much weird cuts so it was easy enough
GYYAATTT
What tools would I need? ❤
Where I can find this color and this laminate any idea please
Which color? The floor? Or the paint?
May I ask where did you get the laminated floor padding? My husband and I just got a house and I want to pull out the carpets in the rooms
Hi from the same place. Also some flooring doesn't need it. I only added it because the bat is right next to this room just in case
What tool do you use to cut the laminate to size:)
I used a stated with a very sharp box cutter but started using the saw because it was faster. You can use a box cutter (heavy-duty kind), table saw, miter saw, circular saw, hand saw or laminate cutter to get it done. They aren't hard to cut at all.
Where did you get the sound proof underlayment?
Hi I bought them from the same company thay sells the flooring Mohawk
About how much did it cost? I’m thinking of doing our living room and 3 bedrooms 😭
Hi, the cost depends on which flooring you get. I'm looking to do my bedroom, which is about 450sq ft, and is priced at $960+ right now🥴. I wanted to do all of upstairs but if that's one room😭
Wow ok😩thank you!!!
You forget one crucial step. Make sure the subfloor is flat. That's the most difficult part imo.
Hi I did. This is also a new build
U are lovely
Thank you
What did you cut the boards with?
I used a stated with a very sharp box cutter but started using the saw because it was faster. You can use a box cutter (heavy-duty kind), table saw, miter saw, circular saw, hand saw or laminate cutter to get it done. They aren't hard to cut at all.
It’s easy until you get difficult cuts. A square room is so easy. All you have to do it is cut the ends . Straight cuts
Yea 😂😂😂
You goootaaaaa where shoes no matter what a broken toes or a punctured foot ain’t worth it
Dont forget to mention the hamstring pain for next 3 days
🤣 listen this is the workout for the day
NICE ASS flooring !
How much money do you think you spent for this project?
Hi this flooring project cost about $330. For flooring and underlayment and spacers.
No windows?
This is a closet. No there are no windows
You installed the padding underneath the floor upside down. The silver is supposed to be on the bottom
It says very clearly on the product THIS SIDE UP 😮
Hi no I didn't. The product states this side up🫣🤣
No adhesive needed?
no
nope
Can I inbox you ?
Hi, I'm just seeing this. Yes, you can. I'm on IG and FB direct message me there
It's been three weeks and I'm still installing my bamboo floor. Your room is rectangular, whereas mine is irregular with tons of cutting required.
This video made me feel useless.😅😅😅
Trust the process. You got this!
Did you finish yet? Bambi sound so nice though. I hope it turned out nice
Too fast I wanted to see how you did It
Don't cut each board the same lenght
😊 okay thanks
Huh?
TF YOU MEAN 90 MINUTES
Yes 90 minutes I was shocked too. Surprised myself with that. The room is not big
Removing baseboards scare me
It's pretty easy. I'll do a video next time I remove one showing the process
All I see is meat 🥩
🤣
