Mr. Beat is a musician's joke...The lyrics are "Once I miss a beat...only miss a beat". Timing goes from 7/8 to 8/8 (Missed a beat)
Even after 8 years, my dad still thinks he says "only Mr. Beat" 😂😂😂! Now I finally have something to prove him wrong! Thanks!
Every song on this album is part of every song on this album
Their psychedelic leanings come through on most releases as well as their core adorable cool quirky voice work....when they do those quick repetitions they always remind me of the first song of theirs id ever heard which was Trapdoor off of Papier Mache Dream Balloon....but those Animals like organ riffs, hippy tastic instrument combos, Rhubarb and Custard mode quirks and chanting style of vocals....a delicious sound altogether....they sound so tight too despite being so prolific...great combination....
This band has 18 albums and they're all at least good, many are great. They're also extremely varied. Dig in.
* 8 months ago they had 18 albums out. As of late Oct, they're up to 23. lol
@@Furao80 Up to 25 almost now lol
@@GlitchyTheGlitch 25 as of now
Personally butterfly 3000 helped me through some shit, honestly a great album no matter your mood. Should give that a listen some time :) fucking love the KGLW reactions 🤙🏼🤟🏼 keep up the great work
Fun watching a guy similar age to me go through the same mind bend / realisation that this musical energy mixed with clever coolness is possible, prog at danceable pace and enough licks to fill an entire career of other bands.
The riff recognised at the start is the outro of side one.
It's not nonagon infinity because on cd the end is the start and so it goes forever on a loop
Please though... not kasabian.
But hats off for going out on a limb to buy and try this record out, it's immense
More King Gizzard to check out: 'Flying Microtonal Banana' (oriental/microtonal psych-rock)
'Infest the Rat's Nest' (metal)
'Butterfly 3000' (synthie psych-pop)
But really most of their releases are worthwhile 😄
I love listening to this album with u the people I know just find it weird
Thanks 🙏
I discovered K.G.L.W. just a couple months ago and have proceeded to purchase almost all their studio albums on vinyl. I am truly addicted and can't believe I didn't hear them earlier.
Scratching the surface of what is the massive Gizz discography! Wait till you check out the Gizz verse. Nonagon is an endless loop that opens the door to hell. The door is amber! Wait for the answer to open the door!
7/4 record! :D
Hi Jim, I think you heard that chord progression (2:10 in this video) rather recently. It sounds quite a bit like a segment of Yes "Arriving UFO" (minute 3:39 of the song) to me. Love your videos, keep up the good work my friend.
Live at Lowlands 2018 there is a nice video up on UA-cam of them covering Hawkwind's Master of The Universe. I feel like you might appreciate it
I might! Thanks
@@JimNewstead not to mention their own album *Murder* of the Universe, which consists of three song suites that all slap and are all amazing
It's a Paul McCartney or Beatles riff
check out im in your mind fuzz ans murder of the universe by king gizzard. they're my two favorite, absolute masterpieces
First song reminds me of Radiohead, can't quite pinpoint it. One of those songs you swear you've heard before.
Ps, Are those drums behind you?
Are they drums….. lol.
imagine that all this piece of music was recorded just by one person kevin parker
I sort of forgot to mention a band for you king gizzard fans😊
Check out a band called HARD STUFF
Also a band called BULLET
THANK ME LATER 😁
It's get back by the Beatles
Omnium Gatherum my guy...
First song, I heard before, so this must be a cover (I think). Not bad at all.
Second song. The bloody distortion kick in again.
I don’t even try to listen more.
Enough other music around.
It's not a cover. And yes, if distortion's not your thing, most King Gizzard albums won't be your thing.
@@murdockreviews I recognize the lyrics from another song and band but I can’t remember which song and band.
@@palantir135 maybe it recalls sthg else. First song here is "Mr. Beat", I checked the album credits again, and it says all songs and lyrics on here by King Gizzard...
I always have to think of "Doctor Beat" by Miami Sound Machine, though 😄
@@palantir135 Maybe they covered Gizz? They're fast becoming your favourite artists favourite artist.
