That one scene of Andy crying for his life because chucky is coming to get him, that was some amazing acting. My heart hurt so bad for the kid I wanted to reach through the screen and help him.

Poor baby boy.. damn he didn't get to enjoy his childhood for long. Andy is the legit Tragic hero of the horror slasher genre. He's smarter than other and much older protagonists. Andy Barclay is one of the best protagonists of horror that is actually a child. My favorite version of him was in Child’s Play 2 for two reasons: Alex Vincent’s performance and how strong the character had become since the first. Great video, man!
@RainXBL For me, both first and sequel are the best Chucky movies. Love Andy and Kyle’s friendship too. And when Andy goes against Chucky aka Charles Lee Ray.
I think Andy is one of the first horror characters to stand up to the monster instead of depending on parent figures. He was super active in the movie imo.
I always liked that out of all the people that Chucky had a score to settle with, Andy was the one that was always one step ahead of Chucky, and it's because of that Andy is one of few of Chucky's victims that he never managed to kill.
At the end of child’s play 2, I was kinda hoping Kyle would’ve took care of Andy after she hit the legal age. It makes me sad that that didn’t happen and that Andy’s mom was stuck in a psych ward the whole time.
That's sort of what I wish could have happened for a Child's Play 3. Kyle and Andy are on the run from the law trying to take Andy from her, and Kyle trying to get by and take care of herself and Andy at the same time. Then Chucky shows up during this time. Yes, it would be the same thing done again with Chucky after Andy, but I don't mind it at all. I certainly didn't with Child's Play 2.
Child's Play 3's Tyler was a dumbass. He was older than Andy had been in the original but Andy was really only manipulated by Chucky until Chucky killed Eddie then he realised there was something off about the doll. Tyler on the other hand stupidly thought Chucky was his friend, wanted to play with him and thought Andy was jealous of their "friendship." And in a display of total idiocy Tyler thought the Good Guys doll brand name meant Chucky was a good person.
The problem is Chucky kept being remade over and over…what company keeps selling a doll, regardless if innocent or guilty, that was possibly linked to multiple murders!? If a child even choked on parts from a Cabbage Patch Kid or Barbie, that would be the last we ever heard of those!!!
@@collegebro85 Sullivan the head of the company was just greedy and thought that because the Good Guy dolls sold well before all the murders he could wait for the bad publicity to go away which is why he starts selling them again at the start of 3.
I think the reason is because he still have people who believed him and cared for him like his mother, detective Mike, Kyle, Kirsten, and Tyler. He knows losing his sanity would've made him become something he don't want to be and he only take his anger out on chucky since he's the one fucked Andy's life up also even though he experienced bad childhood but it did made him stronger and not letting down his guard.
@@genyatusamaki1219 One experience with with a cursed doll leads to a bad childhood? 🤔 I don't think so. Once Chucky is out of my life, I'm moving on to better toys. 😂

I like how Andy started off as the hunted but has now become the hunter. A rare but awesome trope for horror survivors although Ash is still the best in that regard.
I get it, ash vs evil dead or the original evil dead movies and yes, he did become the hunter but there wasn't exactly a specific antagonist, in the series atleast
To me, this takes away all the appeal of horror. I want to see Andy, Laurie Strode, Sidney, Nancy, all terrified of the one chasing them. Not the one hunting them.
Andy is one of my favorite horror protagonists. It’s sad a child ensures all of this. But he’s one of the most proactive protags and does everything he can to stay safe from Chucky. Child’s Play 2 successfully shows how badly this has already affected him and even worse when he’s an adult. Just like Chucky claimed, he truly did kill Andy’s childhood.

@Angie Reyes I know, and because she's in control of Jennifer's body, Tiffany has access to her money, and I bet you anything, she used that money to boy the Good Guy doll factory so that she and Chucky can use them, so that he can copy his soul into them.

Phil and Joanne destroyed Andy's childhood in turn, as Andy no longer trusted later adoptive families and realized he was alone in a cruel world because of them.
@@lpallad1 that's only because they easily turned their backs on him, and the problem is that NO ONE believes what a child says, and that's something that Chucky took advantage of numerous times.

Wouldn't you rather see the girl from parks and rec? Maybe even Chris Pratt can come on too after he is done ruining Mario. Wouldn't that be so cool if they included Jim from the office too? Poor Whitehurst. He was a geek that got picked on, but in the end, literally jumped on a grenade to save everyone and wasn't honored like he should've been.
Imagine Andy and Glen meeting in the series. It'd be pretty interesting. One is someone who's life was messed up by Chucky, and the other is Chucky's pacifist son. That'd be awesome. Of course, there's no confirmation that Glen will be in the show.
honestly, Glen(da) would probably apologise for what Chucky has done to Andy but also know that its not nearly enough to fix his life nor to stop their father, and for sure Glen(da) most likely will be offered to kill Chucky with Andy's help but decline to do it bc its not who they truly are, Andy surely has had a shitty life and seeing him as a kid being so helpless makes me cry cuz he didnt deserve any of this 😭
@@kitsuneakage22 I can see all of that happening. However, I don't think Glenda would be apologetic. I think she'll be in the killing business, judging by the end of Seed.
they’ve been hinting at glenn coming back. spoiler for chucky episode 2: i’ve read a theory that says the teacher could be glenda because 1) she’s ginger and 2) when she was with lexi she left lexi with the chucky doll and turned the lights off. i think it’s be interesting
My theory (hear me out) is that glen is somehow working with Andy, so is Kyle (child play 2), and Tyler (3). Chucky is a LEGEND in his universe, still telling his linear story over what? 40 years? Maybe we'll get a team Barclay (names up top) vs team chucky (chucky, tiffany, glenda) type of event. Like how vampires have "helsing" like hunter enemies in most common lore. Chucky who's just as notorious as a vampire in his own right, would need those humans in the shadows that have trained their whole lives to fight the monsters in the shadows we dont believe in? I hope I explained that well enough 😅 (I definitely think glenda is the science teacher. She's definitely oddly interested in Jake. Also I saw tiffany in episode 1 🤯)
Andy Barclay & Laurie strode are so alike, they were both traumatized at such an young age due to a serial killer, and both grew up living a lonely life, and always having guns at home in case their past monster return.
Andy Barclay is one of my favorite horror characters ever. Went from a helpless kid to a competent man that doesn’t just content with, but beats Chucky consistently. He’s a hero in every sense of the word
My guess is since The Chucky TV Series is coming next month you’ll probably cover the history of Chucky next? Also seems Charles and Andy have the absent father figure thing in common, only Charles took down a much darker path because of it.
We still dont really know too much about Charles's past, other than him having a habit of being a family friend, but going nuts over a housewife, dont know alot of his past as a kid, or what his family was like
@@PatZalatoris The only things we know about his past so far are his Lakeshore Strangler murders with his favourite victims being families, his relationship with Tiffany who given that she wanted that Damien guy from Bride to kill people for her she probably was a fangirl of serial killers until she decided to kill people herself and when she met Chucky he was able to use that and manipulate her into helping him, learning voodoo from John Bishop who probably thought he was just interested in voodoo lore but Chucky didn't believe in it until he transferred his soul into the Good Guy doll but after John started teaching him he used voodoo imagery at the sites of some of his murders because in Child's Play 2 Grace Poole says Charles Lee Ray killed a dozen people in ritual voodoo killings. He probably just thought it looked cool. And him and Eddie Caputo probably sold drugs and robbed places as well as killing people.

I was terrified of Chucky from age 6 to 13, just seeing a image of him sent shivers down my whole body, looking back seems kinda goofy. but the shiver still comes when I am not expecting to see him
He gave me nightmares for years all because my little cousin was watching Child's Play 2 at our grandma's house. No idea why that was allowed to transpire. I love horror now and no longer get nightmares...at the cost of sleep paralysis. At least my sleep paralysis demon befriended me so it's not too bad. I think Chucky gave me a legit night terror because I had an out of body experience during it. I saw myself lying there asleep suffering silently unable to wake up. I still remember that dream more than 20 years later...well not the beginning of it. I remember being in the back of my mom's SUV that she owned at the time. The tailgate was open and I was throwing things at Chucky to slow him down. I had the Out of Body Experience here. We stopped at a store and I got my legs stuck in a cart. My dad started pushing the cart but Chucky caught up. He attacked me but I shoved his knife through his head from the back. He twitched so I grabbed the blade and pulled it deeper. I woke up afterwards. That being said I'm getting the collection for Christmas.
I really appreciate the effort you put into this. Without going into any details, I deeply related to Andy's character and couldn't figure out why but now some things are coming together. Especially after being in the foster system. Chucky is more like a symbol- he can represent anything that terrorizes a person or traumatizes them. Similar to how they described Candyman in the latest remake. Really changes your perspective
I’ve always been a fan of Chucks the antagonist, but never really paid attention to the movies. I seen them Halloween weekend, and they’re really good.
I wasn’t;into horror movies that much before I read the plot to the first film of this and it really interested me. The concept alone was really unique and it did deliver. I watched all seven films and the first season of the TV show. It’s very worth checking out!
Well the Chucky movies are different then that of child's play. I love the child's play movies and the Chucky movies are just ehhh they're a fun watch. But I highly recommend the Chucky tv show, it shows the wit of the Chucky movies with the child's play aspect.
Andy probably has the most heartbreaking story of all time compared to other horror characters like Jason Voorhees maybe. Imagine being only a child and all of sudden everyone around you is getting murdered by a doll possessed by a serial killer, but you, a 6 year old child is to blame, which causes you to be sent to a institution, your mom also getting sent to a institution, a foster care, military school, and forced to live with PTSD for the rest of your life knowing that that doll is still at there trying to potentially make your life worse.
If I was a child and had a killer doll. I would be crying and scared because I understand that dolls scared kid and I don’t want them to be scared because of the doll. I know that feeling. But I don’t think Jason is a killer dolls. Jason is serial killer in human. They can break in and out. But the dolls they can use a tool to get in. So I can’t compare humans killer or killer dolls.
@Eugene I see your point. But I don't know Mr. Mustachio there. I like the idea of a crossover. Like maybe, Chucky finds Annabelle and thinks that she's just a puppet until she attacks him. Somewhat switched roles.
In the adults defense. The kid was involved with two homicides and an explosion in two days. Can sort of understand why they would he asking the kid questions

In the Chucky TV series, the main character “Jake” lost his mother due to a car accident. Kind of similar to how in the original script of Child’s Play, Andy lost his father in a car accident
I remember how the chucky movie fucked up a small part of my childhood when my babysitter put it for her older grandchildren when I was 6 and got traumatized that I couldn’t take a shower without the door being open or sleep without the door being open
I can relate. When I was 9, I was left alone with “Clockwork Orange”. No specific “trauma” per say; but the world changed for me that night, in ways I still can’t articulate today (I’m now 40, and a writer; this alone speaks volumes). (Spelling & grammar edited.)
Titanic and Ghostbusters did that to me literally was afraid to go in the bathroom cause for some odd reason I got it in my head that the bathroom would flood or the pink slime
*Andy really thought Chucky was his "best friend"... it's really sad that he met him and saw that he killed a lot of people in front of him when he was just a kid. But the good thing is that, as an adult, he can try to save some people so they don't die or traumatize themselves like him. This franchise is good for the story and character development during the movies.*
That breakfast scene was so hysterical- Alex Vincent has done such a wonderful job in this series from his tiny child self all the way to his badass adult self. Andy is legendary because Alex is a fucking amazing actor.
I would love to see a more psychological horror version of childs play where we the viewer arent truly sure if the doll is alive or not or if the kid is just a psychotic and blaming it on the doll. And either ends more ambiguous or just revealed at the very very end.
First time viewer here. SO glad you mentioned the last scene of the first movie with Andy looking back at the Chucky head. After seeing what Andy is like as an adult, that ending is even better than it was at the time. Ever since that first movie, he was always looking over his shoulder, waiting for Chucky to come back for him.
That ending sequence in the 2nd movie at the factory always stuck with me for some reason. The fact that Andy continued to appear in the movies really shows how resilient he is after everything he'd been through.
Andy was super adorable when he was six and eight obviously there's no way he could have became 15 to 16 within about 3 years but I'ma leave that one alone I will say they did a good job with putting a character that look like it could be him at that age I mean they kept the eye color and hair-color the same
These videos are therapy for me. Although I didn’t witness up front murders or a possessed doll, I witnessed violence growing up and seeing my mom get abused by men with screams and fights, wondering what the police would do or if they will keep these bad guys away from my Home but always end up seeing my mom with a new stranger and witnessing new threats that till now I’m 21 years old have always kept me on watch. I get why Andy is hyper vigilant even as an adult 2x because being so scared as a kid not knowing how I can defeat the things that scare me always kept me vigilant. These days I’m more careful, more quiet, & always expecting bad to happen.

The decapitated Chucky is the one Andy gets in the mail so he couldn’t have brought the head to the Asylum before getting it in the mail. The decapitated Chucky is also the main one from the whole franchise
I don’t think Andy would be trapped forever in that room. Kyle is out there and so is his mom and others that are survivors and know that Chucky is alive. I think they could get him out of there.
Would he want to leave? 3 squares a day; warm, dry place that’s safer than most, anyone coming through his door is either his enemy coming to finish off, or not yet chucky; guy might even finally have a relatively healthy relationship with someone who thinks he’s relatively comparatively sane. Bottom line: he’d be rescued within 12-24 hours tops, all he needs to do is sit & relax. He wouldn’t need to say jack about what happened; In fact, it’s probably for the best he doesn’t tell any one the truth about what happened (that didn’t work out so well for Sarah Connor). This is assuming the security wasn’t destroyed, can’t remember if the cameras were tampered with. All else fails, Kyle is within that 3-day window to rescue Andy herself, has the original Chucky head to pump for information, and has an arsenal at her disposal. Kyle getting to him first could actually be the best possible scenario for him, if she can convince him that she’s not also possessed by Chucky. Love the detail you put into explainin' the trauma Andy would be dealin' with from Chucky.. to be technical, though, it'd be CPTSD [complex PTSD] which is similar but more often caused from prolonged, severe trauma that often happens in childhood. Even if not right after his initial encounter, certainly after the second.. my favourite movie, btw, the relationship between Andy and Kyle was great and, somethin' about that final scene I just love; it'd be terrifying runnin' in circles from Chucky, in a 'Good Guy' doll, in a maze of 'Good Guy' dolls still in boxes. At the end of child’s play 2, I was kinda hoping Kyle would’ve took care of Andy after she hit the legal age. It makes me sad that that didn’t happen and that Andy’s mom was stuck in a psych ward the whole time.
the authorities probably wouldn't have let that happen
I felt bad, I really wished that it could have happened, but Kyle was only 17, she wasn't at the legal age to adopt Andy....

You can’t kill this guy off he’s too important in this franchise.. love Andy!
It is crazy to think how all this wouldn't have happened if Andy was just a little older to know something was wrong in the early stages.
Just one of those "what ifs" that makes you wonder, doesn't it? Gets you thinking.
How Andy was able to keep his sanity as an adult despite what he experienced as a child with his encounter with Chucky remained a miracle.
I think the reason is because he still have people who believed him and cared for him like his mother, detective Mike, Kyle, Kirsten, and Tyler. But was subtly mentioned in episode 2
honestly, Glen(da) would probably apologise for what Chucky has done to Andy but also know that its not nearly enough to fix his life nor to stop their father, and for sure Glen(da) most likely will be offered to kill Chucky with Andy's help but decline to do it bc its not who they truly are, Andy surely has had a shitty life and seeing him as a kid being so helpless makes me cry cuz he didnt deserve any of this 😭

I hope I explained that well enough 😅
(I definitely think glenda is the science teacher.
I'll probably wait until the series airs for that one.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Andy told Kyle where he was going and said if hes not back or didn't pick up the phone then she have to go where he is located.
Would he want to leave? 3 squares a day; warm, dry place that’s safer than most, anyone coming through his door is either his enemy coming to finish off, or not yet chucky; guy might even finally have a relatively healthy relationship with someone who thinks he’s relatively comparatively sane.
As far is “defeat” goes, this lack of victory is quite a consolation prize.
@@locomadman yeah but most of the people in that hospital are dead and i highly doubt theres gonna be any police station that's close enough to get to the facility in time.
@@coffintears5821 In time? He’s got up to 3-4 days before he drops due to dehydration; he’s wounded but not in any danger of bleeding out he’d pass out first, which would infinitely help enhance his calm); he’s in a fairly sanitized room so infection shouldn’t be a big concern; and people who work that facility will have family, and every hour those people don’t come home increase the odds they’ll sound the alarm & notify the right people exponentially (getting help on site faster; a place like that goes silent, and a response team is obligated to check the scene out with weapons drawn).
I stand by the notion that he still might wanna consider staying barricaded in a hole behind a locked door. I know I’d give it some thought.
Andy will come back in the chucky tv series
Imagine getting killed 2 times by a 6 yr old
I don't really like kids but Andy was so damn adorable in Child's Play 1 and he really grew and became stronger in the second movie.
Agreed
Agreed
I just love how there's a shot of Jake Paul crying and KSI laughing at him 😂
😂😭
Apology video hahahaha cringe fest
Me to
Even though I was a baby when watching this, Andy was my baby 😢 I was and will always be rooting for him in the first movie ❤
You should do a timeline on the leprechaun franchise!
No
@@everythingdivine lolol
There’s 6 timelines (7 including origins)
I really love Andy's character. He's equal parts sad and powerful, since he (or any little kid) NEVER deserved what happened to him but he did a really good job keeping himself safe. Breaks my heart thinking about him though, that kid deserved so much more.
📹One of the best timelines so far! I never got past the first movie so its nicer to have all this in one place instead of wasting hours watching those movies.📺
The scariest part of Child's Play was Andy taking the L by himself lol
I saw this and thought “oh wow, I was terrified of Chucky as a kid.” I am watching this and realizing I’m still afraid 🙃.
BRO HE IS SO FUCKING ADORABLE!
i’d love to know the history of tiffany
For sure!

@@CZsWorld thanks emo Abraham Lincoln!
Same here
So...basically Andy is like lori from Halloween lol..forever mentally tortured by a nutjob killer lol...well OK 🤷🏻♀.
Poor Andy, his life was ruined by just a stupid little childish desire! ♥️😢
Love the tie! Also can't wait for Charles Lee Ray's history.
That's kinda what I was hoping when I seen the video pop up on my notifications
'This is a rifle, this is my gun.. this is for shooting, and this, is for fun' - hahha, had forgot about that gem. Best line in the movie, tbh. 😬😹

YES.
Even after watching countless videos of these horror movies I gotta appreciate a timeline for these series and from content creator I enjoy
Thanks for all the support!!
Yeah it is a amazing horror channel
This has nothing to do with Andy, but it still blows my mind that the actress who plays Andy’s mom goes on to play the mom in Seventh Heaven
Woah, foreal.
Woah, really? We should party!
Chucky (tommy): hi I’m- Tommy :) Andy: wtf
I love how the cops and court falsely punished Andy and his mom
Well this was before phones with cameras
Why would you love that?
