      @Richard Skipper because you buy a sports car for drivability right?

      It's the K series of the V8 world, competes against BMW so I would call it a sports car and not a muscle car. The GM 6.2 and Hemi should provide a better American muscle feel. The large displacement would give powerful low-mids but may feel lazy compared to the DOHC Coyote. If I could afford ir, I'd buy a 392 but the 5.7 is still a good choice .

      This is quite late; but fun fact: the 2012/2013 boss302 engine is named the road runner (its a coyote base with some modifications that were further refined to be used in the 2nd gen coyote).

    • @Gltokensp06
      @Gltokensp06 7 років тому +10

      1st: Yes, the Coyote is a small block. The engine ends up being physically large because of the DOHC design of the heads.
      2nd: You don't have to pull the engine to change the plugs. they are literally right under the coil covers.
      3rd: Please stop talking, both your points were completely wrong.

      I'd think they would use the trans from a mustang or beef up the 4r70w or 4r75w. Not sure if they changed the trans in the later years. I'm pretty sure the Lincoln is longer, I have seen a few high hp Lincolns but I don't know what they used for the trans.

      +Power Automedia ever since the Shelby 5.8 came out, I haven't stopped thinking about putting it in my 69' Mach with out the supercharger, but now I am curious, how mutch hp and tq will you gain with an extra 50 cubes to this engine you have built, or plain and simply, is the 5.8 make 500 hp out of the crate? Never the less, after your video, I will make my own with all your combinations, thank you.

    • @krombopulosmichael7994
      @krombopulosmichael7994 8 років тому

      +Vanessa Alexis Moreno get a ford 6.2 from a f250 or f350. same engine in the 150 raptor. run the aem or holley dominator efi setup with coyote wiring harness. stock bottom end will handle 700hp. throw in some custom ground cams and your looking at 600+ hp with a good tune. find some builds on 6.2 fox bodies or 6.2 swapped mustangs that were used in drag racing. stock swapped wont cut it.

    • @coloradokid808
      @coloradokid808 8 років тому

      +Vanessa Alexis Moreno The 5.8 was never available in a crate, and they dont make them anymore. Ford had the 5.4 litre supercharged in a crate, but it is discontinued as of this year. probably because it was 27,000 dollars

    Honestly. Seeings I own one. I would LOVE to see this motor in a 1995 F150 2WD. Of course the short bed option would be more plausible than long bed but it would be exciting to see it in a long bed. It is my dream to have this motor in my truck. So seeing it in one like mine would be interesting

    I think the car I'm building (GT40 replica) would have been a great home for it! LOL Actually, I have an engine very similar to this going into it. It's a 2013 BOSS based engine from MMR with fully ported heads running the same Cobra Jet intake, MSD coils, strengthened internals, etc. The cams are the stock BOSS ones and the electronics are from Ford (the one they sell for the aftermarket Aluminator). I'm fabricating the headers now and will finish the exhaust soon. I only anticipate about 525 horsepower from it though. If you all ever want to swap engines as a project...LOL

      There’s already an answer for us truck guys. It’s called a supercharger.
      At the very least E85, longtubes, and a tuner who knows what he’s doing would go a long way in your truck.

    Guys I think this would be a killer combo for a smaller and lighter frame package, such as a mid 60's chevy nova/chevy II. Build it as a pro touring car with updated coilover suspension and the works to match the updated application of the engine. Would make a killer combo in an early body style muscle car that could compete with and match the technology import tuners are using! Just a thought though...either way I have subscribed and can't wait to see your guys' final decision for the project.

    Im not here to argue with the results of either induction,but a couple things you could have advanced power on the carb 5.0 coyote test was put the header extensions on just like on this video thats a gain, you did not use them on the carb video,and as well put a dominator or sv1 carb,not saying 4150 carbs dont make power but, there was another easy 40 horse gain on the carb test,using the header extensions and a sv1, I would be glad to be apart of the redue on the carb set up with what i have suggested, but I dont expect yall will do the carb test again.

    An overlooked option: Put it in a 93 - 98 Lincoln Mark VIII that already comes with a 4.6 DOHC (most similar to 96-98 Cobras).

    You should put it in a single cab short bed f150 that came with the 5.0 and make it a sleeper truck.

    How much power will it lose when you take off those header extenders? The engine bay would have to be enormous to fit that wide engine with extenders...

    I'd do a 68 Bronco. Mini tubbed to clear some 315/60 drag radials. And with that high rpm power it Must have 3 pedals! I'd have ProMotion build a modded TKO-600 to mate with the Coyote
