Just started playing DB and there doesn't seem to be loads of rockabilly slap tutorials with good camera, thanks so much for this video!
Thanks Thunderfjord. I'll try cover some more detail on the slap in future video's! Give us a Subscribe if you want to see more stuff :) Best of luck with the DB practice!

O
Our.
This made my day I little better.
Great lesson. Thanks!
Thanks The Joeys! Glad you enjoyed it.
The original is by Little Willie John… Same fella who wrote I‘m shakin‘…
Nice history man, it is! Great tune
@@BamboozleHQ Always happy to help a fellow slapper… 🤣🤣🤣

I thought you to be not so down to earth, but then I saw your answers! Cool! I have a D'Bass, helichord steel strings... do they work for slapping? I've got so many blisters, and it feels very hard to get a slapping sound here... Subscribed, liked and notifications ON
Hey Leandro, thanks for your comment! I haven't played the Helichord strings, but steels are ALWAYS harder to slap on. It's possible, and I know a few players who do, I used to for my first year too, but the blisters are harder to get over.
The best tip is to play every day for as long as you can. I've got a video on this ready to be edited and uploaded with more details, watch your notifications ;)
ho my god
I would like to know your set up and also the size of your bass...thanks
Hi Rolly Polly, thanks for the comment. I use a 3/4 double bass and use Rotosound strings with a Shadow Rockabilly pre-amp. I also prefer to use a slightly lower action than many Rockabilly players, as I also play jazz and swing. If you have any specific's you'd like to know, let me know! Best of luck with your bass playing!
thanks@@BamboozleHQ
How tall are you?
5'7
@@rollypolly550 Thanks for the reply! You're amazing on the double bass and I really appreciate your videos. Happy jamming.
Speak slower, and clearer plz. I ain't fluent in limey. Love your tutorials!
ronny raygunz thanks Ronny, glad you like them. Can’t be helping the accent, it’s an acquired taste. Reckon you’ll be fluent by the time you’ve listened to all the vids 😉
@@BamboozleHQ oh, I like your accent, it's just that the sound level's low and your talking quickly. Y'know, I have this problem with squeezing the neck of my bass to push the string down, fatiguing my forearm. I have short, stubby fingers with an unusually large thumb, and very little finger spread. Should I be pulling back with my arm? Greatly appreciate your sage advice on the matter
