Hey Jeff awesome video brother God bless you and your family i really appreciate and enjoy it thanks for sharing the information love the amazing figure as well as the extra goodies you added to it thanks again God bless Gi Joe Eddie epic adventure over and out 😎😁👋👍👍🍻🍻🍻
Get some clear acrylic round stock in the same diameter as the eye hole and melt the tip into a small nail head and pop it in the eye socket. I've fixed a few Mike Power eye lens this way. It looks almost the same as the original if you do it right. 👍
I just restored another Mike power now I have 2 ,but this one I have never seen with the atomic heart , this is a great restoration can't wait to see it in one of your stories! Hope you had an awesome thanksgiving with your family.
I am glad that came out so well! I am particulaly stoke about the LED fix. I was going to use some clear 3D printer filament but that is much better. I have a bag of Atomic Man parts for a custom build and that will just make it better! Also, geeky me calculated that the ludicrous speed to stop an M16 round point blank is about 7300 rpm, (which means the outer tip would be travelling at roughly mach 5.7!)
@@skunkworksstudios I may take you up on that! I also might buy some to help Shawn light up his Adventure Team RV, so I won't know until the plan is set.
Great video Jeff. I've got a couple of these 'Atomic Man' figures which I'm working on. Don't remember this guy from my childhood (I'm 60) but really like the quirkiness of it. Good job. Andy from Barrhead in Scotland
Nice job! As much as I need a Mike Power ( some day, some day. I wasn’t able to get one back when he was new) I find I like the look of the Action Man Atomic Man is more…real GI Joe. I always found the Mike Power head sculpt to look goofy, like his head was stretched. Is the Atomic Man sculpt the same? Does the Life-Like hair make THAT much of a difference? And why do the heads on both versions seem to not snug down on the neck?
Those are all great points and questions. If I’m correct Hasbro used a Mattel Big Jim head and blew it up for Mike power. If you head on over the vintage 3D joes site they have an article on that I believe.
Man great question. They’re so alike yet so different. From a backstory pov it would be Mike Power. However the palitoy version is so nice and refined. Kid me would say Mike. He came with more such as accessory sets. Adult me loves the Palitoy version for its rarity. Overall I’d have to give the nod to Mike. Couldn’t have one if it wasn’t for the other!
It turned out great.
This was a great how two very cool
Awesome restoration! Looks good as new!👍
