You can do it!! Start small. Lift weights during commercials, if mobility is an issue. You don’t even have to get up. Just keep some weights nearby (whatever weight works for you) and do some reps. If you are mobile, try doing what I did. I stopped eating before 9am and after 9pm. In between I was eating whatever I wanted and slowly cut down to only meals then only healthy meals. I did a 30 second plank everyday and lifted weights every morning. I lost 15 lbs!

How much do you earn? Would you like to be ‘ shamed ‘ for not earning enough, assuming you don’t fall into the highest bracket? Shaming is never a good answer - why do you think wives or husbands never lose weight when they’re shame - they actually eat more - cause you’re just adding to the problem. People overeat a lot of the time cause they’re trying to fill a void that’s missing in other areas of their life, generally they’re in some sort of pain cause people who are super content don’t over eat or abuse themselves. People need love and encouragement not more hate and shame, your just adding to it cause they have plenty already. Shaming is never the answer, spread love and encouragement cause none of us is perfect n we could all do better, you’re beliefs are out of ignorance and that’s fine but don’t be that person that is Justin’s adding nastiness to the collective cause for just once more you’re adding to the problem - God bless ❤️

@@showmevids1984 your weight is probably the easiest thing you can address which is in someone’s direct control. Wages are not and often at the discretion of your employer. Shaming is an important societal control to reduce deviant and maladaptive behaviours that hurt the individual and society at large.
Hence it was shameful to have children out of wedlock, not cheat on your partner, be chronically overweight, to steal from others etc. Shame isn’t hate and can be the motivation to change your ways, especially if it’s going to be for your own benefit down the line.
No one is saying it’s nice to be shamed and some shaming is just wrong, particularly in regards to aspects you cannot change, such as your height, race, sex etc but there’s tough love which may appear cold hearted but is actually directing you to a better outcome than just being in the place you are presently.

      No, She is not right.
There is many science research she is wrong.
Dr Montenero a word famous nutritionist was born in poverty but he was lucky to graduate Medical University. In 70s he started to fight against inequality and malnutrition illness. In 90s he started to notice that people from the poorest areas of Rio became fat, overweight ,diabetes and ill with all diseases associated with metabolism. It was exactly the same decade that USA food corporations took over South America food production and all the fat free, suger free etc.products were introduced.
Typical diet rice/beans started to be replaced with ultraprosesed food. Pandemia of metabolic illness started in a very short time.
Unless we think that millions of people decided to be ill and they lost will then we can say : don't eat so much and exercise.
      However it is not true.
In London University hospital Dr Chris von Tulleken and his team made an excellent experiment. They recruited twins. They closed them in hospital controlled hospital environment and split them to two groups. First group was given only ultraprosesed food and second one food prepared by a chef. Both groups have exactly the same amount of calories, fat ,suger etc.(how we understand the nutrition of food)
First group gain the weight and had changes in brain and ruined bioflora of guts etc. They have been eating on average 500 kcal more per day because ultraprosesed food make you hungry.
When we talked about fat people we think it is them fault but when we talk about alzheimer or rheumatology illness or autoimmune diseases, bowel cancer or any cancer we don't blame people we feel sorry for them but the reason of those illness is exactly the same food and habits that makes people fat.

I recently found Katie Holmes and like her very much. But her stand on "fat people" has caused me to lose respect for her. It seems it's perfectly ok for people to use all kinds of demeaning adjectives to describe someone who is overweight. It's not kind and people have feelings. They know they are obese and they already feel bad enough about it. I have suffered from severe rheumatoid arthritis for over 33 years. I was on prednisone for decades and put on a lot 1:53 of weight. I used to be thin and lovely and now I'm not. I am disabled and must use a mobility scooter when I go out. There are people who are unable to exercise as Katie suggests. I've had over 20 orthopedic surgeries. Please have some compassion for you know not that person's story. Having been slender for so long and now fat I can tell you I am shocked and saddened at the way people have treated me then (with respect and kindness) and now ( those looks--yes we know those looks, the name-calling, the lack of service in clothing shops, etc.). Just really try to be kind. I am someone's wife, mother and grandmother. I am intelligent and articulate. I deserve respect, as does everyone. Think about it.

She’s not insulting the person, but rather the unhealthy lifestyle. I see it this way. For decades we have celebrated and made heroes out of people who have either lost weight or intend to lose weight. Anyone who is in front of an audience and says that they have lost weight is immediately met with a standing ovation and tears of joy. If we can make heroes out of people who lost fat that they shouldn’t have put on in the first place, we should also be able to insult them when they are obese. It should work both ways.

If exercise is a routine part of what you do then then you always have a positive impact on the burn side of equation regardless of what you eat.
One central detail for the modern situation is that humans are simply not evolved for excess food supply. We are in effect programmed to stock up on calories when we can. Processed food can just make this easier.

I can't exercise much as my knees are too messed up, but I still managed to lose 25 kilos by going keto. It's not really helped my knees, but at least now I look and feel better, and when I play snooker I can do a full stretch shot, laying along the rail without huffing and puffing. :)
As you said, it's all down to self discipline. There are times when the chocolate biscuits in the corner shop are so tempting that I can barely look at them, but then I cast my mind back to how I felt when I was overweight, and give myself a good talking to.

@@IIIIIIPETEIIIIII It probably would work, yes. I loved swimming when I was younger, and I miss it very much. I'm a post operative transsexual though, and honestly, there's been so much ill will created by trans activists and their opponents of late, that I really don't want to step into the fray by using those kinds of public facilities, and pontentially face dealing with conflict over it.
I do cycle regularly though, as I don't have a car, and that's not too hard on my knees. So I'm getting some exercise at least.

@@174trek exactly, I think it is unfair to dub all overweight people as fat and lazy. They experiment on mentally ill people, olanzapine is now used on anorexics as it puts on stones in months, as many people who went for psychiatric help found out the hard way. Katy Hopkins does put swathes of people into a catagory they don't deserve to be in because she has no clue. I do agree a lot of people are obese but bullying them really doesn't help, making other people look down on someone for how they look is wrong.

I generally like Katie, but have to respectfully disagree with her on this. No one has to celebrate people being overweight, but people donot cease to be human beings just because of their size. Everyone is worthy of basic respect and kindness, and not judgmental contempt. I've known slim people who eat like pigs, never exercise...yet still never gain weight. And overweight people who are always on a diet. So perhaps Katie should set aside her personal contempt for people whose stories she does not know, and see the human being instead of the caricature she's painted in her mind. Interestingly she doesn't seem to have the same the same contempt for people who abuse their bodies in other ways....smokers, alcoholics, druggies. Those who take it upon themselves to be the arbiters of how other people should look and behave should at least be consistent.

Tbh she's not wrong here. Gaining weight is a choice u can control it. What really pisses me off is that u see all these obese people pissing & moaning about how unhappy they are regarding their weight & that they need to lose weight but then in the same sentence go oh but I could murder a chocolate bar. That's the issue they moan about their weight yet then decide having a chocolate bar is the best way to solve that. I've clashed a few times with people that do this. How can anyone moan about their weight if they don't do nothing about it. It's all down to them but don't moan about yiur weight if u keep scoffing your face full of junk food. Kinda defeats the objective
