No prince William willingly destroyed the relationship with his brother and they used Meghan as their excuse. By passing on negative information to the media and Camilla is also part of it. She is happy the two boyz are at war and are not on good terms with their father so she can push her children forward. Her kids and grandchildren are spending Christmas together with Charles and his own blood is not allowed to see him. How bad is that!

Meghan went in thinking she could change the family over night. That would never happen. She had Harry thinking she was going to modernize over night. He said what Meghan wants Meghan gets. The queen shot that down. The queen wanted them to have an understated wedding since Meghan had been married before. It ended up being more expensive than William and Catherines. Charles paid for it.

I am an American. I loved the Queen and I think that the monarchy has a place in modern times but it will have to evolve. The monarchy is not a joke, they exude class in a tacky, self-centered world. I also think Kate is a very strong and powerful woman. She is a force to be reckoned with.
I should also say that I do believe MM is a "plant" to bring down the monarchy because no one would have helped her (like Oprah) unless it was a plan. She was a D-list actress. If you want a one-world government, you have to bring down the institutions that bind countries together.
The only reason that it has remained so old fashioned is because our late Queen liked it that way. It has changed with King Charles and will evolve further when William becomes King. Most of the so called rules were followed out of respect to Queen Elizabeth 11 but Catherine does her own thing if she wants to, though sometimes there were good reasons to uphold them or they might just like to follow the tradition.
I, too, am American, and I had great respect for the Queen. I also admire Princess Royal Anne. I have nothing but disdain for Markle and Harry.

Over my lifetime I've seen the slow decline of the values that we English took for granted; values that held us together, told us who we were as a nation and as individuals within it; families that ate their meals together, who conversed rather than sat being hypnotised by the television, the decline of the church, respect for the police, a cohesive society, and now attempts to bring down the monarchy. From time to time I've thought it must be orchestrated, but it's just that we took it all for granted. I do think Markle is a "useful idiot" for republicanism but she is a lousy torchbearer, for she has woken us up in time for us to see what we might lose. With William and Catherine I think the Monarchy is in safe hands.

The only thing that unites Britons is sport and the monarchy. Win the soccer world cup and everyone gets out into the streets to celebrate, but how often does that happen? Very rarely. Royal weddings, coronations and funerals are more regular occasions for people to unite in the streets, whether they are happy or sad. It is important for a country to have those moments. The cynical left are only happy when they are out in the streets protesting something. With them it’s all negative and depressing. With the monarchy we have over a thousand years of history and a royal family whose lives fascinate us and as well as provoking endless media speculation, provide a never ending source of income from tourism. Harry’s doomed marriage to an unstable, narcissistic social climber whose resentment of the royal pecking order motivated her to make claims of racism, will not destroy the monarchy.

My Godparents who adopted me served in WW2.They were not blind to the realities of life and the Monarchy, but respected the Queen and what she stood for .She was their Leader and Figurehead and always had the mementoes in a quiet way.I too have done the sane, without the mementoes though.I love the eccentric and individuality that made this country authentic, before it became Globalised.Every country I have visited is the same.

I love what the monarchy brings to the UK.I think it creates a non political community in so many ways there feels to be a warmth so often in England, a pause in tension to celebrate many occasions.
