As an Introvert myself, we are not that anti-social, actually I like talking to people, and hanging out with people I enjoy but after awhile I would feel really drained out and would need time to recharge.

I very rarely like a full on discussion with people. I do almost everything in this video. Except instead of playing a guitar when no one is home, I get naked and eat snacks while re-playing skyrim.
At school when I need to recharge, I'll go so far as to go stand in the restroom or restroom stall. Sounds weird but it's satisfying. :)

As a introvert, I can say that I hate being an introvert. I'll be standing alone in the hallway, enjoying sweet solitude, and somebody will come up to me and ask, "Why are you so depressed?" That fucking annoys me. I'm like, "No, I'm not depressed, I just don't want to talk to you." Then they ask me why I'm in a bad mood. We're so misunderstood.
I agree with being misunderstood. My old supervisor who was an extreme extrovert would try all the time to get me to do things I didn't want to do (that were not a job requirements) so that I could "get out of my shell". She thought being an introvert was something I had to overcome apparently. So stupid.

it's especially annoying because when they ask "why don't you wanna talk to me" i don't know what to answear because i don't have a reason for it.. i just dont want to.. and then i get all anxious and ugh the strugle is so real

But really, this is probably my biggest achievement in life so, um, thanks :) We are all human beings in the end, whether extroverts, introverts, and let's not forget about them ambiverts. A label should never define our true selves (yes, extroverted introverts like myself and extroverts who love spending time inside their mind exist)

As an introvert, I LOVE staying at home, watching my favorite tv series on my laptop, read novels and drink tea. I just love being alone at home but I'm not anti-social, I'm just "selectively social". When I'm around people I'm not comfortable with, I pretend I don't exist to prevent unwanted awkward conversations but when I'm with my "people", I talk nonstop about random things. And oh yeah, when plans get cancelled... best feeling ever!!!

I'm an introvert and I hate when people talk to me, especially when I'm in a lonely mood (like when I'm inspired to sing or draw, when I want to sit and do nothing...) and they never get the hint. And they may think you are angry with them but hey, I just want to be alone to stay with myself

Eating lunch in my car where I can eat in peace without people trying to get your attention or talk to you/conversate even though you are CLEARLY wearing earphones & watching tv or listening to music!

Yeah, that's what most people misunderstand, they think that we don't like to talk, we usually hate small talk, but when it comes to something we love or are very passionate, about we could talk for days. But it also depends WHO we're talking to and if it's one on one, or to a group of people.
emily Exactly. And I also sometimes don't like to talk to a category of people who don't listen, and just like to reply back when you're not even done yet. So I would rather stay quiet and watch them, cause they won't listen anyway, they just want to get heard.

The headphones part feels more anti social than introvert. I have a very quiet introvert friend who likes hanging around us and just listen.
That's how I am. I am an introvert, but everyone tells me that I'm more ambiverted because I don't mind being around people. I would prefer being alone for the most part, but I still enjoy the company of others, and genuinely enjoy listening to conversations. I don't think that means I'm not introverted, maybe just a different type.

The worst part is when people think something is wrong with you and start asking question like “Why don’t you have a girlfriend?” “Why don’t you have friends?” “Why don’t you go out?” Just shut up, I hate relationships and talking to new people, I just wanna sit at home, watch movies and play video games....
I‘m still questioning to myself how I could talk to my crush, without sound or being awkward. It‘s impossible for me too not get into deep themed and more sad conversations. (My crush is an extrovert and loves to talk with people and I‘m the complete opposite 😂😔)

Yeah, but sometimes plans are fun. But not because they have people, because it's somethung fun that requires strategy or it can just make you think a lot about things like books. Ik I'm weird and it doesn't make sense but when I'm at paintball, for example, I love to think that I'm a real fighter, or at movies, I like to watch the movie and to think 'Hmmm, how would that character react to this scene?' and yeah it's just awesome to experience that

*Things that suck about being introverted AND/OR shy:*
When someone asks you to go to a big party and you can't just say no so you end up (very reluctantly) going.
When your teacher tells you to get in groups so you look around for your friends (if you have any) but their group is already full so you end up being the last one with no group and your teacher assigns it for you, to a group of people you don't like or don't know.
When you ask to work alone, and your teacher says,"no".
And then when your teacher questions why you always want to work alone meanwhile giving you their face of pity.
When people see you sitting alone (like at lunch or something) and ask if you wanna sit with them. (Like it's nice a nice gesture and all but FUCK THT! Talking to a group of strangers without anyone you know...(shivers)
When your friends are going on about some boring ass conversation that you can't follow and you're so tempted to just stick your headphones on and drown in the music.
Meeting your friend's friends.
When people tell you "Don't be shy"
When people ask "Why are you always so quiet?"
When you get caught trying to avoid conversing with someone.
When you go to family dinners and you don't really get along with any family members your age so you just sit there at the dinner table with your headphones in. And then when you tell your parent "I don't wanna go to family dinners anymore." They force you to go even though they always make you feel awkward, bored, and like they're are a waste of time if your not having fun. Just me? Okay):
When someone continuously tries to talk to you EVEN THOUGH you have your headphones on. (My mom does this ALL the time, omg it gets seriously annoying)
When you get so pissed and yell profanities in the middle of a class (and really loud), then everyone looks at you, bewildered that you even spoke let alone yelled swear words. Actually this one I find funny. :D I love their shocked faces HA~!
When you *want* to date someone but are too afraid to actually *go* on a date with ANYONE so you just give up on love (waves forever alone flag~) XD
This last one might be just me but:
When your forced to share your very personal (and very cheesy) feelings out loud to someone but once you do you get this feeling of disgust. Like your grossing yourself out. I think I'm much like a guy in sharing feelings and stuff. Ugh I hate it, it's disgusting. And I know it's bad to think that way, but eww.

Omg! The whole thing about talking about personal feelings is so me! I absolutely hate it & try my best to avoid any conversation that requires me to share my feelings. I just-no, I feel awkward & just wrong when I do. It's like I'm not a mushy type person, I just feel gross when I say anything cheesy or whatever.

But it makes me feel bad cause one time when my mom was crying I, to make her feel better, said something sweet and nice, but once the words rolled off my tongue I felt this insane repulsion from my own words and when she was holding my hand it was like I just wanted to pull my hand away and escape, like she crossed a line that I don't like people crossing. I had to force myself not to, and pretend like everything was fine until it was over...
And of course I know how awful that sounds as a human being to be disgusted by feelings like that, but something about it just felt wrong and ugh I don't know...it's hard to describe.

I use the DND feature on Skype because I will be in a group chat and all the skype bloops from someone spamming a billion messages at me irritates me, especially if I am listening to music.

When I see someone far off who I hardly know and I don't wanna have a convo with, I always walk the other way just to avoid them. This is usually a work colleague or someone who lives in the same neighbourhood as me. It's not that I hate them or anything, I just find it really annoying sometimes.

The most interaction I actually get is like through social media when someone messages me on facebook, tweets/messages me on twitter, etc. etc.....so what I'll basically do THEN is literally pretend I never saw it. It's a bit problematic though when I accidentally open the message...oops.

Savan2696 Go to bed at regular times... you'll find yourself waking up at the same time every single day. I myself always wake up before 9 AM, if I have to get up earlier I'll use a clock.

I'm a total introvert and this is so true. I hate parties and I'm relieved when they get cancelled. I like doing things with friends occasionally (movies, lunch etc.) but I hate group activities. It always ends with me being the silent one while the others are talking and then they'll proceed to assume I'm sad or that something is wrong just because I'm silent.

I am too I like staying in listening to music and not talking to anyone it's nice and I like even though I don't have many friends and people think I'm mute

Oh and also the question "Are you sad" or "why aren't you talking",I get that a lot and the most recent one was yesterday by a friend.I just wanted to say 'Because you two are not even including me in your conversation and ignoring me," but I didn't cause I was scared. Scared because I knew that if I did say that,they would try to include me but by forcing themselves and it's obvious.

I’ve done this a lot as an autistic person. Social scripts help a lot sometimes, but going off script can be a little nerve wracking.

I think what she's trying to say though is that introverts aren't opposed to all social interactions. They just enjoy time alone to recharge because they become drained when they are always around people.
