This is one of those bands that when I heard this song on the radio I thought to myself "Holy shit this is the closest thing to grunge in mainstream right now". I know I'm not the only one. We need more new bands like this because we can't just let it die out. I want to relive the 90s through rock in these times of tragic music. It's a shame that this video isn't breaching past 1 mil views for how long it's been out because it deserves so much more.
+Trevor Philips They sound nothing like Nirvana or Soundgarden. They actually sound closer to the "post-grunge" bands of the late 90/ early 00s like Puddle of Mudd and Staind.
+James Oakes They kind of sound like Mudhoney. I mean they have the start/stop/start/stop sound that's famous with Grunge. Technically it is grunge, but with elements of Alternative (whatever that means anymore).
Mudhoney? Are you shitting me? I don't hear any punk rock influence in this song. I'm not sure how this could even be classified as "alternative". What exactly is this supposed to be an alternative to? This has been the standard mainstream rock sound for at least 15 years now. Before that it was Bush and Candlebox, which aren't very far off.
speedy11131 Simple it is. Its called 13 and 14 year old boppers spending all mommy and daddy's cash on fucking rap and hip hop. Ya watched an awards show lately?

Almosh 12 years old... Time just flew by. I remember clearly how this song was recommended to me by Spotify on my playstation 4 and then I got into the band. Man, my playstation Spotify weekly recommended really came through for me a couple times lol. This band brings so much nostalgia for me, I still don't know anyone who knows this band where I'm from. I have always felt all alone in knowing and liking this band. It's sad, but I know the band goes on and eventually will stop and I won't have ever seen them live. Music hits me more than anything in terms of memories, and the period in which I listened to the band was not a happy one, so sadly the music will always remind me of worse times, but at least the music is good and I'll cherish it forever. Made me wanna move to Australia for the longest time lol. And now The Chats are doing a great job at still making me want to haha
Never thought I'd say this, but the vevo ad actually had a cool song playing before this one..surprised! If any of you are interested I heard it's called Bartholomew by The Silent.
Anyone else hear the Pixies influence? That little riff during the pre-chorus sounds just like Joey Santiago - simple but melodic riff. And the singer is trying his best to pull off that Black Francis yelping/screaming. Damn, this is a good song. And not just because of its 90's influence. I hope these guys keep at it.
Yeah.. crazy when I listened to this song in 2023, I didn’t know how true the lyrics would be. “This time next year, I’ll be married.” That’s what she could have said, and it’d have been true.. 💔🖤💙🩵❤️🩹😞
2010 & i was in the midst of major crystal meth addiction ( how i got my stupid utube name lol) & this was the 1st song i heard from & fell in love with Soho. Part of my Friday-Sunday (up to Tuesday at times) blazin ritual was blasting this classic, i do like the rough original version better.
So random story time: Back in HS, some friends and I would drive down to Milang for an under-aged boozy weekend every couple of months or so. One particular time, we were cleaning up, getting ready to go home, and we threw on Rage while we cleaned. This song played. It's 2009 and we all stopped what we were doing to go, "Yo, WTF, this song and band are incredible!" We've have spent the past decade loving and listening to Violent Soho since that moment. A couple of those friends have even played with the boys, (Horror My Friend and West Thebarton have supported a few times) and I still get so excited to see them play. They were once some indie band playing at the smallest gigs and now they're packing out festivals. So glad to say I've been able to enjoy them and their growth all this time. Viva Violent Soho!
why does everyone always feel like they gotta compare a band to every single other band that they bear the slightest resemblance to? obviously a band doesn't make it this big if they just sound like EVERY OTHER FUCKING BAND i listen to violent soho FOR their unique approach to songwriting, delivery, and production give credit where credits due guys
53 people have never had their partners stolen by Jesus. I have written a song similar to this called "I've Given My Heart To Jesus" about a girl who is hurt by her ex-boyfriend and dumps him to become involved in Christian ministry and shuns off future potential boyfriends because she finds the love of Jesus more satisfying than human love. The lyrics are on my Facebook fan page. :)
and even tough this band is heavily influented by the 90's they don't copy they have their own songs and I'm not talking shit I listened to THAT stuff a lot.

Quiet, Loud, Quiet, Loud, Chorus, and repeat.
The recipe for success in the world of grunge.

I don't get why cool bands like this don't get the recognition they deserve, when shitty bands get all the views and likes.
Cause their music encourages people to stick up for themselves, to chill out, to feel good...all things that turn people away from a consumer society.
This is sarcasm right?
Simply put, money.

***** Better than basing your music on the shit bands play these days.
***** Alternative doesn't mean shit anymore. It's all been swallowed up by the mainstream. Everyone is copying something that's already been done.
