It's amazing how Luke knew that people take precedence over governments when this was years before the prequals and we saw just how difficult the jedi order found it to learn that lesson
I was thinking about that too while working on the scene. To me it feels like the Jedi lost their way by the time of the prequels, but Obi-Wan had plenty of time to reflect upon where they went wrong while he was in exile on Tatooine.
The jedi became too political and were forced to do compromises, Qui Gon Jinn saw through those compromises as dangerous to the jedi, since it could easily warrant the force to strike back at them, which it ultimately did. Luke didnt had to deal with the political stuff anywhere near as much, so he ended up seeing things through Qui Gon´s perspective much more earlier on.
I think what happened to the Jedi is what happened to many real-life organizations and beliefs. Their founder really was a good soul (Jedus, I believe), and his instruction he left behind were actually rather clear, although simple. As the years pass, people add to his work. Sometimes with good intention, sometimes not. Before long, though, those who claim to be followers of the Jedi code are more concerned about the appearance and ceremony then they are about the actual teaching. I can sum up the mentality which most of us know well, "Well, what will people THINK of us if they find out we let something bad happen! We have to protect our IMAGE!" My philosophy on the Jedi isn't popular. There's a lot of people who either like to completely condemn the old Jedi or put them on a pedestal to be revered. What's more, people try to bring some kind of 'balance to light and dark.' ... I know I'm rambling a bit. Sorry. My point was that the Jedi lost their focus. They fixated on 'looking like' Jedi instead of actually BEING Jedi. A real Jedi can make big mistakes, but a real Jedi also won't hide from responsibility, much less making amends. It's another reason why I liked the 'Heir to the Empire' trilogy. The Jedi were given a new life with an earnest soul.

@@TheArtkaw Because the new Disney Canon does not live up to the decades of stories we grew up with, not in the slightest. In fact even though "Legends" material as you call it was not written by Lucas himself; the fans who did, done so with the intention of mirroring his own beloved character's personalities and continuation of their story arcs into an unknown chapter of the Star Wars timeline. Disney destroyed the original trilogy characters of old, and replaced them with generic, uninteresting characters who lack the full three dimensional character traits, and build up of those they tried to mirror and replace. In essence to end this ramble; we're whiny because we were used to world building, and story arcs that were if you excuse the irony; "Legendary" in scope. Disney has not delivered on that, and the brand suffers as a result...might even die out finally at the rate it's going, which is a damn shame. It didn't have to be this way; if true fans, who weren't afraid of breaking the mold and going in new directions like the old legends writers did.

This is amazing as someone who has started reading books from legends 2 years ago, heir of the empire was my first and I really love the effort that is put into this
at 2:01 Luke just reflects about the most important factor that destroyed the jedi of the prequels, getting to caught up in galactic affairs with the republic and forget about the people
"Governments and entire planets are important Threepio, but when you sift everything down, they're just made up of people, and a Jedi can't get so caught up in matters of galactic importance, that it interferes with his concern for individual people" He knew what the Jedi Council of the old order couldn't understand. This is fantastic, I came looking for the audiobooks and found this instead! Also, I love how Leia looks a lot like Padme in this! Nice little bonus but probably a coincidence.
I nearly died laughing from Han Solo, I thought he was Hank Hill for a second! "Dangit Chewie! That wookie ain't right. . ." Great work so far though, I'm thoroughly impressed with the work put into this.

I was waiting for the line where Luke says he is the last of the old Jedi. And Ben says: "Not the last of the Old, but the First of the New!"
Its been a dark age for Star Wars franchise, but EU content creators like you are what keeping the Star Wars spirit alive.
Kenobi's voice is a mix of Alec Guiness and Ewan McGregor in one. I like that
Kenobi (Luke, Threepio and Han too) were all voiced by Matt Finish :)

I really like Luke, Obi Wan, C-3PO and Han’s voices! Excellently-cast!
It's all the same guy! Check out his UA-cam channel: ua-cam.com/channels/1Rbz5smKiTViRushbbW16g.html
@@DarthAngelus Wow! :O
Threepio's voice actor, and Ben's were fantastic. Excellent work.
It's the same person :D

Thank you. I had always hoped some i would see these books brought to life. This showed that my love of star wars was not as dead as I thought. So again thank you.
I would love to have a hand in future installments of this. I’m an editor, writer and voice actor. I love legends. I love canon. I love Star Wars. If you could use the help I’ll gladly give it. My emails in the “about” section on my channel.
I shall take a look :)
@@DarthAngelus Please make Earth(Cold War era till 21st century) in Star Wars fanfilm series? Wish to see how will a single Blue Marble through endless conflicts can beat every galactic power that tries to bend this independent planet with almost 200 nations!
The addition of Luke's chocolate make me laugh!
I like adding the little details, I'm glad you spotted it :D
3:29 So good. Winter is thinking on the personal level, about the pregnancy, and you can see Leia is always thinking about the big political picture. Luke has already decided the personal must never be overlooked
Empire has fallen but it's heir has taken its throne become the new emperor thrawn
Thank you for going through the trouble of visualizing a fantastic old book.
It's a lot of fun! :)
Not the last of the Jedi, Luke. But the first of the many.
Oh Disney, why must you take this beautiful moment away from us? Also, "Can I get you some more milk." I've a feeling her voice actress must've thought of TLJ when she said that.
Yep, the green milk scene did come up when we recorded that line of dialogue :D
Disney canon honestly sucks imo
Why must I always be reminded of that movie
It sucks that Legends fanboys are such whiny little bitches.
After this magnificent work.....shadows of the empire should be next.
Unless someone beats me to it :)
That obi wan luke scene was fucking beautiful
Thankyou! It was a tricky scene to get right.
oh man i love this. i wish there was a way to financially support this.
I can't accept money for this otherwise the mouse would be very unhappy. But if you wish to support my work, I have some original projects on Amazon :)
ua-cam.com/video/6Pm7tQ46g50/v-deo.html
Robert Whitaker I agree that it was so artistically done
Leia *T H I C C.* Seriously though I just discovered this series but I'm glad I did.
Awesome job. Mind blown. Way way better than Disney Star Wars!
Fine work. The actors for Obi-Wan and Han sound close to Harrison and Alek.
What if I told you, they were both voiced by the same person?

Guys... this is fucking incredible.
Are we planning on doing the entire saga?
And if so, are we planning on doing other SW series?
The brief conversation between Luke and Obi-Wan had more emotion than anything from the sequel movies!! This is absolutely brilliant!! These stories, to me, are the true sequels to the original movies!! I’m more excited to see your next parts of this than I am to see Rise Of Skywalker!! Keep up the sterling work!!
The voice acting is impechable - well done, sir! This is so much better than the terrible Force Awakens.
Its nice to see Star Wars fans express their love for the franchise through fanworks!
I am leaving a comment even before finishing the video. Kudos on getting a voice for Obi-Wan; and Luke is reasonably close. Leia's does a capable job, and I haven't finished yet so I'll edit this afterwards.
This is amazing as someone who has started reading books from legends 2 years ago, heir of the empire was my first and I really love the effort that is put into this
Why thankyou! I'm glad to hear people are still getting into and enjoying legends :)
You should read or listen to legacy of the force 9 book series . takes place about 25 years after heir to empire . is awesome
all I can say is WOW... this is incredible.
I wish this was the sequel trilogy.
at 2:01 Luke just reflects about the most important factor that destroyed the jedi of the prequels, getting to caught up in galactic affairs with the republic and forget about the people
Jedi only care about politics and not they people why is why they fell
I cannot slam the thumbs up button hard enough. I adore these books and seeing them animated and voice acted is a huge treat.
"Governments and entire planets are important Threepio, but when you sift everything down, they're just made up of people, and a Jedi can't get so caught up in matters of galactic importance, that it interferes with his concern for individual people"
He knew what the Jedi Council of the old order couldn't understand. This is fantastic, I came looking for the audiobooks and found this instead!
Also, I love how Leia looks a lot like Padme in this! Nice little bonus but probably a coincidence.
Jedi of prequels era didn't care about people which is why they lost if only qui Gon survived
Well done man. This is what they have made for Obi Wan in the sequel triology 😎
This has so much heart. It's irrelevant if it's low polygon, I love it.
I wish my graphics card thought it was low polygon ;)
DarthAngelus I know what you mean, I used to do CGI art years ago, processing power is never enough. Keep going though!
This is lovely. Always wanted to see the Luke/Ben scene depicted in some fashion. This rendition is fantastic.
It's a powerful scene, I'm glad you enjoyed watching it :)
This is officially better than anything made by Disney.
I nearly died laughing from Han Solo, I thought he was Hank Hill for a second!
"Dangit Chewie! That wookie ain't right. . ."
Great work so far though, I'm thoroughly impressed with the work put into this.
I'm glad you're enjoying it :)
I just found this and the first episode today! Thank you so much for doing this!!! I've always wanted to see the Heir to the Empire trilogy adapted for film, and thought my dreams were dashed when Disney took over. You, sir, are a true hero! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
THIS is what Star Wars is supposed to be
For those who didn’t read the book. That cup is filled with hot chocolate. Something that was new to Luke
Excellent work. Looking forward to Chapter 3!
Thankyou! I'm looking forward to working on Chapter 3! :)
Please don’t ever quit doing what your doing I have been trying ta find something good about Star Wars I love this man
This is excellent! I love how we live in a world where we can have all these excellent fan films on top of the new movies on top of the new shows on top of the games on top of the comics on top of the......
There’s never been a better time to love Star Wars!
Yes, I think between all these various Star Wars releases (official or otherwise), there's something for everyone.
This simple scene, added to TLJ, could provide more of emotional kick, than Yoda's appearance. And it would cemented importance of work, that Luke has done in preserving Jedi knowledge. Lessening whole "I am scared hermit on island, leave me be".
love these! great Han Solo & Leia voices, can't wait to see more episodes!
I'm so happy to have found great voice actors for Han, Leia and the other characters :)
This stuff right here is what Star Wars is truly about, you deserve far more attention and recognition than anything Disney shovels out.
Fuck that was a nice transition! Now that’s Star Wars!!
Most of the chapters so far don't give me much chance to use transitions, it was fun to do it here :D
I didn't notice it in the first video, but the musical thematic beats were perfectly timed in this video. Shows a great knowledge and appreciation of John William's work.
I have listened to the movie soundtracks so many times :)
Thanks for this ! Keep the real star wars alive :)
amazing work as always
Thankyou! :D
I had to stop and cry because I was so happy to see old Luke again. Disney did Luke dirty.
