I'm for both. This happens like 5 years after ROTJ and makes an awesome adventure. Lucas' trilogy would have been 20-30 years after and would have been a conclusion suitable to the epic struggle of light and dark.
@@skywalkerorder2170 If Lucas wrote and directed his version himself it I would prefer the Thrawn-Sequels any day. Timothy Zahn wrote better dialogue ("Do you know the difference between an error and a mistake?" vs "I don't like sand"), has a better story structure, better character development (Mara Jade vs Episode II Anakin; not Clone Wars Anakin, who got great development though) etc. Where Lucas ist superior is worldbuilding, general ideas and concepts ( Lucas creating the very idea for Star Wars vs Zahn only writing books in it ; the concept for the prequels was genius, making it a tragedy a good idea, though it was executed poorly) and story outlines. I really would appreciate George's sequels, as long as he sticks to the things he's good at- designing the world, creating the outline and characters for the story- and of course stays AWAY from directing and writing.

This is just awesome! My favourite Star Wars books are stepping out of the pages. The printed letters are getting shape of the entire worlds. It is dream coming to truth... THIS is what the mouse should do.
This was the story that established star wars lore going forward, and without it there would not have been the prequels. Not flawless, nothing is, but definitely what made the entire expanded universe.
I have come to believe that DarthAngelus has every character pronounce C'baoth's name differently as a tongue in cheek reference to no one knowing how to pronounce it. suh-BAO'th, SAH-BY'oth, Suh-BY'eth. It had me cracking up. Timothy Zahn himself said in a 2015 audio interview it is pronounced sah'bay-OTH.

Sometimes the focus is so much on his military genius, or debatable ruthlessness, that its lovely to see glimpses of the "human" part he has - that connection with animals or nature; such as when he also regretted having to destroy coral reefs.
Thankyou and I agree. I feel like little details such as Thrawn interacting with the Ysalamiri are important. And it was a lot of fun to do that too, so there will be more moments to come :)
PLEASE keep going. Whatever you need we will make it happen to have this trilogy complete.
What is your support / funding goal to have you make the entire book this way? Legit question because i have alot of friends who find this awesome and can share across a wide variety of groups and pages to help
I feel reluctant to put out a funding goal to make the entire book, as that seems like a good way to get unwanted attention from The Mouse's lawyers. However, if people wish to support my work: ko-fi.com/darthangelus
I will share the link and your work around a little bit more. I know this sorta thing is kinda niech but those who like it really like it
@@Jason8648776 Thankyou, I do appreciate that :)
@@DarthAngelus I understand completely. Such a shame that they destroyed Star Wars and also want to destroy people who have fun with the REAL sequels. I mean seriously, I would be a lot more accepting if they just used the authors left (like Denning and Zahn to continue the Legends timeline)
@@SJHFoto thankfully they only destroyed the sequels. At least Rebels and Rogue One were alright
Jorus C'Baoth has a perfect voice
Yeah, sent chills down my spine when I was animating the scene.
Wow! That was an amazing job abridging that chapter. The style choices and designs for the scenery were very good too.
C'Baoth came off a bit less crazy and far more cunning than I usually envision but I liked it nonetheless.
I wanted him to not be completely insane to start off but it's something that comes across as the story develops. I'm glad you enjoyed the story :D
@@DarthAngelus that's actually how I read him when I finally came across Heir to the Empire, we'll done, keep up the good work
The person voicing Thrawn sounds almost exactly like Lars Mikkelsen.
I love THRAWNS EYES. IN THIS
Joruus C'Baoth's village and temple look amazing! I never quite visualized what they would look like, but you've animated something that looks like it came straight out of the Clone Wars show.
The trilogy Disney should have made? Imagine the Mara Jade spinoff? Such good narrative, and impressed by the inclusion of the dialogue. Zahn does that to separate the characters from each other. I like C'boath, can't wait to see his descent into clone madness.
Thrawn looks like he’s always smiling like there’s something you’re not getting
When Thrawn is involved, there probably is something we're all not getting.

Kinda have to agree, only wish more of our decades of legends materials could be animated... I'll admit not every series was great, but a good 70% of them are more than worth alot more than a disney trilogy or two :P
I disagree while I love The Thrawn trilogy I really want to see Lucas conclude his story of the Skywalker Saga?! I think he'll do it in novel form though?
@@skywalkerorder2170 Yes, we should have the Thrawn trilogy, the entire EU, and #MakeGeorgesSequels!
I really would appreciate George's sequels, as long as he sticks to the things he's good at- designing the world, creating the outline and characters for the story- and of course stays AWAY from directing and writing.
the voice acting is top knotch. extremely well casted guys
12 episodes of TCW or 1 of Heir to the Empire ?
I personnaly take this beautiful work on a great trilogy !
THIS is what I imagine as the Thrawn from Legends. Not the watered-down version from Star Wars Rebels that would occasionally mention art but then repeatedly get defeated over and over.
Keep up the great work, everyone involved deserves a hell of a lot of credit
You are creating the sequel series that all true Star Wars fans will call cannon!
Thrawn is one BAAADDDD, creepy dude!!! Gotta Luv the guy!!!!!
That was an incredible production! The animation was far superior to the Dark Horse version. Lucasfilm owes you big time! Zahn trilogy...the real Ep 7,8 and 9👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I just started Heir to the Empire again and in found this! Thrawn has been one of my favorite Star Wars characters. I love that you are doing this and this is much better than what Disney put out with episodes 7,8 and 9. Keep up the good work! I look forward to seeing more chapters!
Thankyou for enjoying this series! Chapter 5 is in production :)
As far as I am concerned, this is canon.
Thanks for keeping Legends alive.
Thankyou for watching :)
Ahh, Finally!
I hope this image means we're gonne meet Thrawn again in this chapter?
He's back ;)

@@ultron6494 I hope you'll like him :)
Awesome is an understatement
Thankyou :D
I am stunned by how great this is. You have done amazing work here. These are the sequels we deserved!
Just discovered this project - Three Cheers! Last week I finished the unabridged Heir To The Empire audiobook again, first time in over a decade. Such great timing. Major thank you from a lifelong fan who feels soooooooooooooooo disappointed with the sequels.
Good timing with discovering the show! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :D
Where you really captivated me here was the background noise and sound effects...draws me in perfectly. Music is great, too.
Sound and atmosphere have always been important to Star Wars, it helps make the world feel alive. It was important to keep that up here :)
@@DarthAngelus even very subtle things like pellaeon drawing his blaster at 3:27...very nice
You did an EXCELLENT job reconstructing Tantiss and the temple
This is the only thing that rivals Clone Wars for me when it comes to excitement
The day Clone Wars returned seemed like the best day to reveal this :)

Crazily impressive. Great to see star wars best character get a proper showing on screen.
It feels an honour to bring him to life like this :)
This is so incredibly good! This is the real SW and not the bantha drool that Disney aka Disaster is spewing out. I only have one request and that is that please don't give up on this project of yours until it's complete...I beg you!
This is some of the best SW content i've consumed this year, if not my favourite and that's saying something in the year we got live action Thrawn. INCREDIBLE WORK.
Yeah… This is freaking awesome.
Thankyou! :)
DarthAngelus, this is so well done. I read the Trilogy years ago and what Disney has put out is pure garbage. When I first saw it, I figured - "How good could it be?" and then I watched. You have developed the characters so well and stayed true to Timothy Zahn's work. I offer the highest praise for what I have seen so far and look to more episodes. I think you have saved the travesty that DIsney created. Bravo!
You’ve done an amazing job!!! I was a fan of the novels and this is pretty much word for word. So much better than the Disney sequels! This is what Star War should be! P.S. the prequels suck! Long live the original extended universe!
Excellent work, please keep it up. I would love you see you complete this trilogy.
I would love to complete the trilogy :)
Awesome, really love this series!
Thankyou! :D

I'm looking forward to you being able to see this :)
Can not wait for the next chapter! You are amazing!
Soon :)
This is awesome!!!!!!
Thankyou :)
Brilliant. I read the Zahn novels when they were first published. This takes me back. And the voices are impeccable. Well done!
Thankyou! Making these is bringing back a lot of memories too :)
This is just awesome!
My favourite Star Wars books are stepping out of the pages.
The printed letters are getting shape of the entire worlds.
It is dream coming to truth...
THIS is what the mouse should do.
It kinda feels that way when I'm making these too :D
I just have to reiterate how impressed I am that this exists.
I love it!
*wipes away tears
I'm glad! :D
You've figured out my plan! :D
Now this is star wars I want to thank you for what you are doing this is the sequel we should have gotten not the trash we got keep up the good work
Amazing work! I really enjoyed it and C'Baoth was handled perfectly, both in appearance and voice. I look forward eagerly to the next chapter.
I'm glad you enjoyed the direction I took C'Baoth :)
Never mind i just saw you made this just 3 weeks ago. Thank you again and keep it up, i read the books 2 years ago following a major surgery, and have been amazed no movie has been made. Thank you!
It sounds like the books helped you recover from that surgery. It's nice when a good story can do that :)
Fine work. Adapt more of the Legends novels when you can. I prefer most of the cannon novels over the disney films. Many of the Legends novels are also excellent. I do like the Clone Wars series though, and some of Rebels. Cool that Thrawn was brought into an animated Star Wars show.
I hope to see other animators feeling inspired and adapting Legends novels and comics. There's a Dark Empire one you might want to check out: ua-cam.com/video/lADCO-Ar76U/v-deo.html
Loved hearing the Thrawn theme from Rebels here. ☺️🤘🤘I never did finish the original Thrawn trilogy. This makes me interested in doing so.
You should, it will be quicker than waiting for me to get to the end of the last book ;)
Incredible!!!!!!!
Back in the 90s I used to have Heir to the Empire on cassette read by Denis Lawson (Wedge), this brings it all back: great work.
I had that too! I listened to it so much I think the tape was getting worn out :D
This just get's better, keep it up, you should seek Star Wars theory that guy knows the score
This is amazing work. Bravo!
Thankyou! :D
