I can't find the CBC newscasts about the Bertuzzi Moore incident on UA-cam.
Its not controversial, its assault. Made a forever hatred for the Canucks and anyone named Bertuzzi for me.
I wish the Coach's Corner that Saturday night addressed the incident in a creative way. Like the recreation of the classic "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!" scene from A Few Good Men with Grapes memorizing Jack Nicholson's tirade and Ron memorizing Tom Cruise's lines. "You want answers?!" "I, uh, think I'm enti-" "WELL, DO YA?!" "Don, I want the truth!" "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!! Anyhow... Todd was wrong!"
Moore had it coming. Outcome was worse than what was deserved, but he was headhunting Naslund, and could have easily ended Naslund’s career with his hit. No call on the play, and Moore ignored the “code.” He’s a rat.
I have always been curious how much they settled for? I think the NHL should have been sued for 50 million as they didn't stop this. They knew something could potentially happen. Bettman should have said anyone trying take out justice on Moore will be suspended for 1 full year and the teams will be fined 5 million. This would have never happened.
great idea Cause anyone doing it at that point would effectivly end his career in the nhl early. Like you would have been kicked out of your team if u did that after knowing that and still doing it and no other team would realy want u after that however taking out "justice" could have also been just a fight.They knew that the canucks were after moore but how could they know that bertuzzi would injure him so badly he had to retire? They probaly expected a fight between them and not this.
Some canucks fans still defend this to this day. Even after knowing the consequences. I’ve seen a Bertuzi jersey in Ball Arena(home of the avs) while they were playing the Canucks.

The dude answered the bell once, but at least this incident is infamous enough to keep others from pursuing something like this ever happening again
