    This is hands-down the best uke stringing tutorial on UA-cam. I've been playing for over a year now and this is how I learned to string my very first ukulele. I always recommend this vid to friends who are just starting out. THANKS SO MUCH CORDOBA! 💛

    Thanks for the enlarged portion. VERY helpful. I wish you had done an enlarged version of how to secure the string around the tuning peg. No one that I've seen has addressed this clearly.

    Thank You so much for this. I no longer fear changing the strings on my ukulele, and as EVERYTHING you read tells you the first thing to do with a less expensive Ukulele is upgrade the strings, this is a massive help.

    Wow! As several have pointed out, this is indeed the best demonstration of what can be a frustrating task for beginning Ukulele players. Greatly appreciated how easy your steps are to follow. And that large wood block in the latter part! That really, really helped show in detail what needs to be performed. Thanks so much!

    Thanks very much for this string-change tutorial. The oversize mock-up made it easy to learn the proper technique for securing the bottom end of the string to the bridge. As other commenters have mentioned, this is the critical step that is often obscured by the installer's hands in other similar videos. I just changed the strings on my uke myself, for the first time, and it went off without a hitch (though it did take me 55 minutes, start to finish). The uke community is much obliged.

    As a first time string changer, these instructions were spot on. I was surprised at how much they stretch the first time and had to unwind one and pull a little more through the peg so I didn't over run the peg.

  • @polskaftw6807
    @polskaftw6807 5 років тому +3

    Just for the record, there is a knoting technique to use at tuning pegs, which is way better in my opinion in a sense that the instrument holds tuning better. The thing is to minimize the possible slip of the string from/onto tuning peg, as the string contracts and expands or tension caused by playing is applied. So the less of the string is wrapped around the peg, the better. This is best done (at least imo) by pulling the string through tuning peg, and then, after the hole, wrapping 180 degrees around the peg, and then wrap under the string, so that as you start applying tension to it, it is held there. I use it on guitars (classical, acoustic, electric) and it works perfectly (and also saves time!), but haven't tried on ukulele, as I simply don't own one... yet. :)

    I think what made this video the most useful was the enlarged version of tying the string. My only critique on that would be that they used a white rope with a white background. Still, I've more confidence to do this now. (I bought a used ukulele at a second hand store for my daughter. Needes string and bridges - I think they're called bridges - and now I'm ready to tackle the task.)

    • @LucieRoseT

      You should definitely leave some slack so the coils don't come off from there being only a few

    • @GotAUkulele
