These guitar riff's serve as indisputable PROOF as to just how important *MARV TARPLIN* was to The Miracles' sound . He co-wrote many of their hits, and while some may not know this, MARV was mentioned on the BACK COVER of the Miracles' VERY FIRST ALBUM as being one of the ORIGINAL MEMBERS of the group !! He was ALSO inducted into *The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The MIRACLES*. R.I.P. MARV !!! (June 13, 1941 - September 30, 2011)
Followed and subscribed from way back when he was Ptownmotown. Even called in to his radio show i Provinctown, Cape Cod, from here in The UK he was blown away. Such a great fella. A very sad loss. RIP John, thank you for the music and the memories they evoked.
I remember my mom playing these jams on that Saturday morning cleaning the house. Brings back so much memory being a kid and listening to this kinda music. Can’t go wrong with oldies.
‘68 was a disaster of a year to say the least. But with the brilliance of Motown and other slices of life, it was definitely the best & worst of times.
Totally agree I know it was a little before my time I wasn't born until 1964 but when I became old enough I started listening to Motown and Smoky Robinson What a Beautiful voice ❤❤❤

My baby girl Mercy Apodaca was beautiful, I never forget this song. It reminded me of the last time I saw her she was 17 in 1977 I was in the back of a cop car headed for the west end off mountain in Ontario. I was from Cucamonga home of the original King's
Most Excellent mosogotam! Thank you! O:) Lyrics Nothing so blue as a heart in pain Nothing so sad as a tear in vain Let him walk on out if he wants to He really doesn't deserve you His loss is our gain so don't be blue Cause stone blind and out of his mind Is what he has to be, yeah So baby straighten up, come on and fly right It's no catastrophe, yeah And say now baby, baby don't cry Baby, baby don't cry Baby, baby here's why Love is here standing by Love is here standing by Too bad it was him that you trusted Too bad but you can't be disgusted It's time that you got readjusted And realized that tear filled eyes Can't stop him now That man is on his way I think he's gone to stay You better drop him now, yeah Ooh wee now, baby, baby don't cry Baby, baby don't cry Baby, baby here's why Because love is here standing by Love is here standing by You trusted him and gave him your love A love he proved unworthy of Oh baby, oh baby all you've got to do Is dry your eyes long enough to see That you have found the love you thought You had in him here in me Love is hope girl, love is strength Here's someone standing right beside you Who would go to any length To give you love true and deep And hope you realize at last You found a love that you can keep And only losers weep So standing by you, tears aren't shed in vain I said so
Smokey Robinson is a legendary performer, a very successful recording company executive, one of the best producers in history, and the songs he has written for himself, the Miracles and many others are works of true genius. Amazingly, with all that talent and all that success, he has also remained humble, modest and a nice guy. He is truly one of a kind. I love all the songs by Smokey and the Miracles, but this one is my favorite. Thanks for your usual great work, too!
John, you should've been one of the producers at Motown.........another masterful job of extending the greatest music ever recorded. Thank you, love this production. Best always daveydee1142
This song helped me walk away from a one side relationship, his words in this song touch my broken heart and taught me that there is someone out there waiting on my love, who would appreciate and love me the way I do them.
Got this blasting on my large speakers in the house, absolutely love this extend, was a kid when they had their hey day but love this, O.o Baby, Baby and I Second That Emotion are my faves, a time that will never be equaled...
I thought this cut sounded great on 8track jensen speakers 🔊 blasting ....riding down the boulevard.....amazing work Moso....,precious memories from the Miracles Time Out album👌🥶🥶🥶
O M G. You've taken one of my All-Time Smokey efforts and extended it ! The ONLY way that this Classic COULD'VE been improved . Thank you SO much. This cut is from that incredible Miracles period ( 1967-68 ) when Smokey teamed with Al Cleveland and others, to give us "Special Occasion", "I Second That Emotion" , and quite a few more exciting, elegant, and eloquent R&B / pop GEMS. Thanks again, mosogotam !
+David Lomax For me their best years were 65-66 when they issued such classics as "Ooh Baby, Baby", "The Tracks Of My Tears", "My Girl Has Gone", "Going To A Go-Go" , "Whole Lot Of Shakink In My Heart" and"I'm The One You Need". But it's a matter of taste.
This song along with “More Love, “I Second That Emotion”, and “I’ll Try Something New” are now among my very top favorites by the Miracles, right along with “Going To A Go-Go, “Tears Of A Clown” and “The Tracks Of My Tears”❤. They all still sound as BEAUTIFUL/fresh as they did when we first heard it❤️. I remember like yesterday hearing them on the radio often throughout the day and loving it❤. And I love watching the compilation, their peformances❤. Legendary, classic❤. Soul/R&B❤️. ❤
Smokey Robinson is the greatest song writer of course
Indubitably!

The lyrics are the bomb
Greatest LOVE Song Ever Written..
His voice who doesn't voice him and the Miracles ❤❤❤❤❤😂
That's a great song

Lyrics
Nothing so blue as a heart in pain
Nothing so sad as a tear in vain
Let him walk on out if he wants to
He really doesn't deserve you
His loss is our gain so don't be blue
Cause stone blind and out of his mind
Is what he has to be, yeah
So baby straighten up, come on and fly right
It's no catastrophe, yeah
And say now baby, baby don't cry
Baby, baby don't cry
Baby, baby here's why
Love is here standing by
Love is here standing by
Too bad it was him that you trusted
Too bad but you can't be disgusted
It's time that you got readjusted
And realized that tear filled eyes
Can't stop him now
That man is on his way
I think he's gone to stay
You better drop him now, yeah
Ooh wee now, baby, baby don't cry
Baby, baby don't cry
Baby, baby here's why
Because love is here standing by
Love is here standing by
You trusted him and gave him your love
A love he proved unworthy of
Oh baby, oh baby all you've got to do
Is dry your eyes long enough to see
That you have found the love you thought
You had in him here in me
Love is hope girl, love is strength
Here's someone standing right beside you
Who would go to any length
To give you love true and deep
And hope you realize at last
You found a love that you can keep
And only losers weep
So standing by you, tears aren't shed in vain
I said so
