If you're worried about an asteroid or comet hitting Earth, you should look up NASA's DART mission which is currently underway and whose goal is to test using a small spacecraft probe to slam into an asteroid in order to veer it off its course. If it's successful (and a lot of astrophysicists think that it likely will be), we'll have the technology to defend us against these kinds of threats. Hopefully this will help you sleep better at night ☺
Yeah that DART thing is exciting, it should make contact September this year.

By the way, I am happy to report, that the DART mission was a resounding success.
I just realized after watching second time during your reaction that the prediction the rich sociopath made of Leo's character being alone when he died ended up being untrue. Most likely because that fortune made him realize what was actually important to him, which was his family. Right after that interaction he immediately compromised his position of high power in order to warn the world, and gained his redemption back by the end of the movie to share his last moments with his wife and family. Really beautiful

@@esoterca Yeah, I think it's nice how it illustrates that a near-perfect predictive algorithm is still going to be wrong a non-zero amount of the time and sometimes we need to take some of our faith out of those tools and put it back into our own ability to choose our fates
I love how the decisions people make in this movie pisses off any viewer that has sense. Because we know this is exactly what will happen behind the scenes.
It is terrifying how much power and control social media has today. I think this film does justice on that not matter how quirky the satire is.

4:25 That's exactly what I have always thought about Di Caprio's acting for many years!! Not that he's a bad actor but (except movies where he has a moustache, beard or something) I don't see the CHARACTER shouting, crying, being funny, etc. I see DI CAPRIO doing those things.

@@eddietucker7005 it's more so at 32:59 you can see all the camera crew in the back. It was a whole thing and people spotted it on TikTok and now I'm pretty sure the fixed it.
I would have liked to see your reaction when they reach the new world. "Don't Look Up" might be my 2nd favorite movie of all time, right behind James Cameron's "Titanic". Then again I might just be caught up in all the hoopla surrounding this movie at the moment. I'll see how I feel a few years from now. This movie might be promoted as a comedy, but really it's a fairly accurate representation of just how a good portion of our society is in the 21st Century. You did talk a lot but it was all entertaining. Glad you enjoyed the movie. :)

If you are looking for another show to start it’s amazing it’s bouta motorcycle club in CA an shows that world ( which at that time had never been portrayed really in tv ) my g pop was a member of the warlocks in PA so I Kinda knew a little of that life growing up, but it was just a amazing show and the piece of the show like never dips it’s always zero to 10 … I miss it so much

It's a satire, it's not supposed to tell you a good story, it's supposed to make you see the blatant missfunctionalities of something, here beying today's society and... revolt, of course. The more you revolt, the better it is, I consider it to the best satire ever made, and I can get into details if one wants. A comedy is usually about dumb sh1t, this is for from it; this is dumb sh1ts may they be politicians, ordinary people who elect them or the very technology that does the thinking for everyone, winning against the smarter minority of our planet that actually are responsible for most of the progress of the human race. But that might count for little opposed to the big mediocre dumb masses that lead everyone in the same direction. It's tragically funny of how true that is, the revolting kind of funny. That's me not getting into the details of the satire, The Brontorac satire of info algorithms is nr. 1 for me. Just mentioning one, couldn't resist. This movie is nothing short of brilliant.🤗
