I love Jhin, definitely got me into the ADC position. Tried him mid, but didn't feel right. Cloud 9 is my favourite team and I'm happy to see Sneaky taking to Jhin as much as I am! I used Armor Pen Marks for a long time, going to try the full AD marks now! :) DFG is awesome on Jhin right now though, even though this video says Warlord's.

Finally. Someone with some decent tips and who doesn't recommend Jhin go to a solo lane.
It's good to note that due to changes made to Jhin, his W and R now both count as single target abilities if they hit a champion first. This means that Deathfire Touch will gain full benefit. Warlord's Bloodlist also got nerfed recently, putting his lifesteal on minions down by half of its original strength.

Attack Speed on Jhin gives bonus AD but also Move Speed on Crits.
Does Bloodlord Decree proc before or after the 4th hit crit? Does it give Jhin additionnal speed or not?

i usually go essence, fire cannon, ie, ionians, runanns, and a tier 2 last whisper. It amounts to 600+ ad, 100% crit chance (making you pretty speedy after every auto), 40% cdr to help land more w snares, and lower ult cd, and runaans lets you spread the damage a easier since you only have 4 bullets. The only downside is the absence of a life steal item.
+SkanenakS I do agree with you but I wouldn't say that the build isn't good without all 6 items. The first three items of the build work very well with each other (essence, cannon, i.e.) but yea you do bring up a good point
+xxxEstilo209xxx i suggest ie then ER then rfc. So you can have the earlier cdr for picks and spell usage since autos are weak till later. Also since his total ad scales with AS getting ie 65 ad and ER 65 before getting rfc AS helps you scale in a better order. To top it off i usually finish with Scimitar and PD for the defense, AS, ms, and 100% crit. If you try this you will see how op it is.

If u are starting a camp it's better to start with ''E'' since it can stack multiple times and almost oneshots the small golem/ does alot more burst and damage to the camp :)
Im using this build on Jhin: Essence Reaver>Swifties>Infinity Edge>Phantom Dancer>Rapid Firecannon>(Situational item like BT, Lord Dominic, Maw, Scimitar.)
TheDevanthar go Statik Shiv over Phantom Dancer, unlike other ADCs, Jhin has a set attack speed, so the extra attack speed you get from Phantom Dancer is not needed.
but you are getting more ad and movement speed when you have more attack speed... so the kiting is real

no it doesnt... but attack speed gives him more AD and more movement speed when he crits....
Why would you prefer BT over Death's Dance?
DD costs 200g less, gives the same amount of ad, gives +10% CDR.
It's 5% less lifesteal but +15% (5% for aoe) heal from his abilities (I don't know if his q actually counts as aoe as it hits single targets 4 times) so I feel that this is pretty equal in value.
Yes you miss out on the shield but you get that transition of 15% burst into dot dmg to you which can help you stay alive for a little longer. I can't really compare those 2 effects (didn't do the math) but still the reduced cost and the increased cdr should be at least worth a thought/mention.

What about matchups and team comps?
I normally go IE>Shiv>RFC and then whatever else i need for the current matchup. the shiv really gives you some nice burst dps and then ie and rfc are self explanatory
p.s. im not saying i know more than sneaky. he is obivously much more experienced then me. my point is that this works better for me and who knows for the way you play it might work better for you to
and yes i realize this is outdated but my build seems to work wonders for me
try er-rfc-ie as core then bloodthirster/merc/armor pen item as needed. This is his best build

Sounds good, Im pretty sure the reason why you don't use 2 atkspeed/crit items is because his 4 shots attack at a fixed rate and the attack speed doesnt help. the rfc gives him the extra range/extra range for 4th shot
Just turned over a losing game with my team and got a penta with Jhin last fight, fuck yeah.
Jhin most likely has the game's strongest thunderlord's, so going for it is never a mistake. However the first tree appeals to me with its %armpen, as you risk never building any when playing Jhin. As for the items, i like building 100% crit through reaver-rf-(then ie-pd/shiv in a preferred order), and with ionian booties it allows for easiest 40% cdr of your life, while sneaky's build offers none at all. Since you're limited on ammo, have fixed as and only start moving when you crit, you need both max crit and cdr to make the most possible out of Jhin's kit. The last item is a situational one, qss-scimitar (out of jail yoohoo), dominik's (they stack armor) or even good old GA against sneaky bitches. Top it off with red elixir and you're ready to go.

phantom dancer>IE>boots>rapidfire cannon>another PD or Essence reaver> Death's Dance or BT or mercurial or Maw or Banshee. With 2 PD you can actually skip boots to get another defensive or another life steal item. Cause with 2 PD you'll have a bunch of movement speed as well as rapidfire cannon. And with 100% crit and the amount of attack speed you have you will be running around dodging skillshots and chasing enemies.
+Duke Fernad Not as an efficient build. Your attack speed is capped for a start so it is wasted gold.

+Duke Fernad Boots are never useless and you HAVE to have them. If they catch you, they kill you. Your AD wont be that important then, because as soon as you empty your clip - you are defenseless. Not to mention CC.

I personally go 100% crit on jhin ,
IE , Rapid fire , Reaver and phantom dancer , this has lots of dammage on jhin from his passive , and also 100% crit ,
every hit gives you more movement speed , thus you can move and hit alot ,
most of my games end by the time I get 100% crit

"Essence reaver is weird, I don't like the CDR, and bum rush IE because you need IE first." Meanwhile, if you follow his current builds, he rushes ER and gets IE 3rd item.
Phantom dancer is better on jhin then rapid fire cannon only because it helps sustain

I main jhin as an almost mastery 7, and averaging 21/2/8 all games as him, and the item build section isn't that good. The first 3 and bloodthirst is right but then after blood I get guardian angel or whatever it is and it increases survivability and makes the team timid to attack you.

+Renato Gonçalves he's not viable rite now . they dont even play him. wouldnt make sense. riot is bring him back with this new buff, i dont think it wil b enough tho, because the meta is pushing for early and mid game strength (which he has none of). he's good late game, but thats assuming you can get perfect positioning. only saying this cuz if you go on twitch and watch challenger/diamond elo games. you never see kog.
+Haris Bokhari Nah he's hilariously strong atm, the fact that you don't put any points into q anymore means your w and e out trade almost every other ability and Rageblade has a much smoother build path then other adc items, that coupled with the fact he only needs 2 cheap items to hit his power spike puts him in the top tier for 6.3

Leona or something else thats all in is not exactly bad but if they engage at the wrong time and you reload you are basically fucked so protection supports are the best!

+ErthgHD Honestly any support worth their salt is good. I've played with annie, galio, karma and heimer support. Some of the best times I've had are with these supps. It's very easy to turn a stun or an empowered karma q into kill potential. While morg or janna might be the suggested supports for him I haven't honestly enjoyed the experience with either of them so far.
What about lethality Jhin?
Vinson Li With his low mobility, it gets rekt very offten.
In actual meta Youmuu is the core and the only lethality you would want, just beacuse the MS boost.

i feel like i can outplay anyone in the game with jhin most of the times, with my move speed and everything, but the ult ... THE ULT ... i feel so useless in team fights after i get my first rotation off, my ult its just ... i feel like he is not that good in team fights (unless its ur team engaging in some of ur traps or something.
+Kawai as Fuck Jhin is the kind of champ that really makes things feel kinda fair. Like you actually COULD aoutplay everyone in skirmishes and the like.
But in teamfights, he is rather team dependant... Cause if something dives you, you need your team to get the threat off of you.
But the ult does TONS of damage to anything below 50% health. Be it a squishy or a tank. And the last shot tends to kill nigh anyone below 30-40% health. I oftentimes find it extremely helpful in the second half of a teamfight. When everything is damaged, you can kill at least 1 person with your R and help your team catch up with fleeing enemies.
Except you don't get Warlords on Jhin since 6.4, thunderlords and deathfire are better on him now

+Zenith Maiden More AS = More MS from his passive. Theorethically, Zerks should, by all means, be the best boots, because he is getting a lot more than other champs from it.
Makes one wonder if another nerf to swifties will come in, or if other boots will be buffed. Because swifties are simply not meant to be used that often.
Why not "Death's Dance" instead of "Bloodthirster" or even have considered it? All of his abilities deal physical damage (except e), so Jhin could potentially heal for more. Also in his build, he doesn't recommend "Essence Reaver" or any cdr items for the matter. Is this not a necessary stat for Jhin? Not here to doubt mah boi, just want some constructive insight...
+Jason Edokpa I have tried ER a lot on Jhin, it is good for the return on mana, and crit, if you are ahead in lane sure get ER cause of the mana regen...I have a lot of Jg's that always never give me Blue buff so that mana regen is just awesome. I have even tried Death's Dance with a BT and I have to say the crit - Dmg was just stupid high. I don't know why or how, but there have been times I would just Half Health a tank to dead. There is nothing saying you cant try it over a BT, even thou BT is great for the over Heal it gives you since he is really squishy. CDR I don't see is really any good on Jhin since most of all his abilities are on Low CD as is, so honestly its not a good stat, unless you are trying to get his Ult off more, which again is on a low CD as well.
Hey! Fellow Jhin mastery 5 here, it depends. Going just Essence Reaver and building IE with your choice of RFC, PD, or Shiv you'll obtain your 40% cdr. You'll also want the Essence Reaver (ER) because the mix stats (30% Crit and 65 flat AD) dips into your passive increasing the total value of that passive and future damage from your future item build path (E.G. brawlers gloves gives you 10% more crit to feed into the passive, work with ER, IE, and your flat AD as well as cdr from ER). The auto life steal with BT adds up to 35% life steal (10% BT + Unique Passive BT +20% + 5% masteries) will heal between 200-400 per auto (crit dependent shown in max value from average late game armor 54) while Deaths Dance will net you 90-190 per auto and 30-60 on q, 45-60 on w, and 40-200 on ultimate (hp target dependent) per ability... Even with cdr your still not dealing enough damage to make up the heal trade up and even worse most of your abilities that are physical damage are not spammy enough in cqc during a team fight where you need the life steal since they happen so fast. You'll most often only appear for your auto's and at most 3 grenades on champions which most often won't get the increased damage if you do not kill that champion. Minion waves are cleared from other teammates AOE engages (usually APC, Fighter, and/or Tank) making the q less of healing option and trying to extend mid fight to gain that increased damage makes you lose overall DPS on the enemy team (since hitting 1-3 minions before champion) or puts you out too close to where your caught out. Deadly flourish is best as a follow up initiation or to stop a fleeing opponent, both times at which you probably won't need the life steal since they have stopped focusing you for reasons your dead or to risky to suicide for. Using it mid fight lowers the chances of getting 2 4th shot executes since it takes a total of 10 seconds (reload included) to proc both most of that time is spent moving, dodging, position, ability casting, and then target selection. During which you'll want to have that 35% life steal and flat damage amount from BT in order survive the AOE from an enemy APC's skills or the enemy Fighters/Tanks abilities and/or items (BT Nearly completely negatives thorn mail your greatest counter). The only times you will want Deaths Dance is during mitigation of early game pressure where you needed to pick up warhammer/vamp because the landing phase was hellish poke/all in's/jungle ganks that you couldn't outplay but needed to stay in lane or against enemy assassins with high burst (Zed with Derek) to survive his burst with summoner heal and unique passive from Deaths Dance if your support or tank fails to peel for you. Other than that BT all the way. Death dance is more of a common on extensive combo based fighters anyway like Riven, Pantheon, Gangplank since they have ways to consistently spam abilities. Nah we, just like all marksman, we auto attack :P

+Truly Omnipotent I am still figuring out a proper build path. I do believe, though, that the AS from zeal-items is very useful after inf edge. The movement speed that early really helps out a ton. Your trades and catches with w are much more fluid with the extra MS, too.
But Essence Reaver just feels sooo right on him. It's very nice to have high CDR, due to how your Rs cd works and due to having a very nice CC in your kit. The mana regen also just helps out a lot. But I think, ultimately, it is more beneficial to not use Essence Reaver, as your CDs are already rather low, your manacosts are very manageable and the early Zeal item just helps a lot in the midgame.

I have been testing out, Youmuu's Ghost Blade, for my new core and first item. The flat armor penetration busts through early to mid game armor from enemy items, runes, masteries, and levels. The active grants movement speed on its own and feeds into your critical strikes (Fulfillable through critical chance runes/4th auto/4th ultimate shot/Deadly Flourish root) movement speed further by calculating your current buffed up self with the attack speed multiplier from Youmuu's active. It also works for adding 10% increased ad during trades, fights, and ultimate. Just if you do decide to pick it up, activate the item prior to an ability cast/auto attack since you'll miss out on the 10% increased ad from the active and you can't use items mid ultimate. Only during the late game when I need to push out more damage will I sell it for a Lord Dominick's Regards.

Oddly enough I am using Essence Reaver less since I rarely poke with my abilities. Essence reaver because I never need to spam my abilities for poke since poking with dancing grenades puts me in a position where a dash, skillshot/targetable cc will catch me out (Taric Stun, Poppy dash, Malphite ultimate). Poking with Deadly flourish forces it on a good 10 second cool down leaving our team with 1 less cc and about 200 damage on the enemies combined 7000+ with the ability to regain it before my ads are up for a favorable engage. And captive audience is easily triggered with people skinny dipping (go in then out without fully committing), disabling it with oracles lens, and tanks simply not giving a fuck if you just throw it out there. Only the ultimate is okay but only in a pick scenario where you have 2-3 damage items (disclosing boots) and they have 80% health to trigger your 40% ultimate damage increase executes.

Essence Reaver is a wonderful mix of stats which will sky rocket his damage but then you have to ask yourself "What do I need for this particular match?" Like the meticulous killer your play do you should ask yourself do you need to spam? Do you need niche life steal? Or do you need fast feet? How much damage do I need and can forgo? Thats the complexity of our role as an assassin with only four range shots and a 2 second opening for our opponents to stop us. The ability to discern which utility items, raw stats, and blend it with the right defenses along side proper play will determine which team will have the most "effective" dps. After all a marksman can build full attack damage and attack speed with 20 item slots and still not be as effective as you if your putting your damage in the right person at the right moment.
TLDR
Like an additional scoop of ice cream to make the perfect ice cream cone bigger; ER is nice but situational in my eyes.
2 Phantoms, Rapid, Essence, Statikk, Beserkers, 3 fire drags, baron = 1000+ AD.
ghost blade, duskblade, mercurial, ie, cdr boots, last whisper item, red pot.
no dragons. no baron. 850 ad.

Why not IE into ER? When playing, Jhin's damage just feels like it falls off when getting RFC (and from what i can see in stats, the win rate for him drops drastically around 15-20 minutes). But with ER, his damage just feels massive. Attack speed scales poorly on him compared to AD and Crit, and 40% vs 50% crit isn't that huge of a difference (especially when the fourth shot is a crit anyway). You just get so much more ad with going ER. You're either 130 ad + 16% from crit, or 65 ad + (24% from crit, about 7.5% from as? soooo ->)31.5% (this is ignoring the extra scaling from your passive). Quite frankly, i don't see sneaky's point.
+TJskillz169 Yeah, also considering he mostly builds Essense Reaver on him anyway in the games he plays with him lol. The trinity of items for Jhin imo is Essense Reaver, Rapid Firecannon, and Infinity Edge, I just got a penta with just those trio of items and a long sword. CDR is actually good on him cause his w has significant range and can stun, plus q harass and e utility are also important. As for building RFC or ER second, I would go either way. ER has more damage potential, but you can poke better with RFC since it would be early mid game when you would usually get the 2nd item anyway. The extra range plus extra dmg on next auto at 100 stacks plus 30% crit chance calls for a good deal of poke in lane or anywhere else. But I would mostly get RFC 2nd if I wasn't as ahead as I wanted to be, since it's cheaper than ER anyway.

he is 100% wrong about deathfire. W is single target on champions so it will trigger full damage effect deathfire. his ult also triggers it. so the only abilities he have that wont trigger the full damage is E and Q. everything else triggers the full 2 second duration and thus the full damage.
the nice thing about DFT on jhin is that it can get 300-600+ dmg in the mid-late game alone. thats ALOT of damage when you are ulting,, or poking someone with W. like really, 600+ damage added to each of his ult shots is really good as long as you pace them out.
as for the build, i dont get why you would play jhin with that normie ADC build. just go with draven. jhin scales too hard with crit and atk speed for you to not abuse high crit rate/AS on him. yes every 4th AA crits so you may think you dont need high crit, but that is the wrong mentality to have when playing jhin.
jhins q is not aoe, and why don't you have sorcery?!?! stormraiders is highly underrated on him
+Genesis Angel I'm not quite sure about that. Following that logic Vladimirs E should count as aoe as well but at least with the old Rylais it proced the 40% slow as if it was single target (I don't know if this was changed though). So I think its possible that his Jhins Q doesn't count as aoe. Maybe there are even different aoe definitions in use in the game.
And even from the word "Area of effect" you could assume that there needs to be a certain area where damage is dealt which is true for his w,e and ult (at least for minions) but not for his q.

Not trolling anyone but he sounds exactly as if he was a male version of a cali girl. Just speaking random things back-to-back and not getting down to the actual details of this champion. He just dots around a couple things here, couple things there, then he's back to square one with a different tip about the same situation. I feel like this is very unorganized.
