A Video for Introverts, as Inspired by "Teen Titans"
*The footage and images featured in this video are for commentary and education which are protected under the Fair Use laws of the United States Copyright act of 1976.
Inspired by the Love of Jesus Christ
Verse of the Day (as related to the topic of this video):
"Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken." - Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NLT)
A movie I highly recommend: The Gospel According to Matthew (starring a very animated and engaging acting performance by Bruce Marchiano, who plays Jesus). This is a word-for-word adaptation that has a unique take on the body language and charisma of Jesus, and also makes it easier to understand and quicker to read the story. I am hopeful that this movie gives you peace, love, hope, security, comfort, and answers, as it did me, and continues to do to this day. God bless you.

As always, an excellent video! Never limit your complex personality to just one word. You are always something more than just a 'label'. I also struggle with certain things in my life - largely due to being an aspie - but I'm not confined to this specific wiring of the brain. I AM a complex, multi-dimensional person and I have a life all of my own. Thank you so much.

But that also doesn't mean that we dont have any less interests than introverts. I and many other extroverts value our time alone to have one on one time with our interests, hobbies, and ourselves. I like being by myself cause I can take a moment to relax and do things I love, but I also like being around others and doing things with them cause that's where I feel comfortable.

"Being different is a gift, not a curse." I really do believe that, but it would be nice if other people would.
I've spent most of my life as an introvert, and it's never bothered me I enjoy my alone time. And for the last year or two I feel like I've been able to become little more an extrovert. I've been wierd for as long as I can remember, or at least that's what people tell me. It's never really bothered me, I've actually learned to embrace it, but then recently I started to wonder if that might be the reason not a lot of people want to be friends with me. Because I'm "weird." For like the past year and a half, I've struggled making new friendships, and it made me feel so unwanted. Thing is, is that it's probably just in my head and it might not be because I'm weird. But if it is, why can't they see that being different is alright?

I think introversion and extroversion exist on a spectrum. For example, an extreme extrovert might go crazy if they have to spend even five minutes alone, while an extreme introvert might not even want to come home for Christmas dinner. Personally, I actually like getting together and socializing with close friends once or twice a week, but if I had to socialize every day, I would feel drained. Although I lean towards the introverted side of the spectrum, that doesn’t mean I never want to socialize.

I classify myself as an introvert. Why? Because I freaking love my alone time. I do enjoy spending time with friends and family, but being in a quiet place with no one but myself is the thing I find most relaxing. I think it can be harmful for some classifying themselves as an introvert, but not for all people. It all depends on perspective. Some people think "I'm an introvert, I can't be confident and I can't enjoy talking to people". But interesting fact, people who are introverts are actually better (on average, of course) at talking than introverts (once they overcome the fear). In fact, introverts in sales preform better than extroverts in sales (on average).
It all depends on how you look at things. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

My introversion comes from a very young age where I couldn't make friends and I didn't know that I had to be LOUD just to get friends(I was already a quite person) my peers never liked me and don't know why, so as a result I believed that everyone doesn't like me even if my family does and I appreciate them but I'm not always around them. I don't trust anyone because all the 'Love' I got from anyone else was either Fake or Pity.

I only have 1 person irl I feel good with and he doesn't have much time and we don't see each other for a long time because we are on different schools

For the past 2 or 3 weeks. I’ve been trying to be more productive, optimistic, and trying to talk to more people that I see a lot in class. I went to my guidance counselor one day and I told her how I felt like I’m the worst person ever and I felt so lonely because I’ve never been in a relationship before. I had dreams of killing myself and seeing what the outcome will be if I succeeded or not. My guidance counselor told me that therapy will be helpful. She called my mom about it and tbh I’m kinda thankful that she called her because I want to turn my life around. Idk if people call me an introvert but I feel like I am because I don’t really leave my room a lot and I just think of the things that I really want. But thankfully, I have a job at my dad’s pizza restaurant that i wanted to work at and I’ve met people that I really like to talk to at school. Hope all of you have a great day

  • @AshXXMayftw

I was pretty shy during my preteen and teenage years, but I wouldn't have ever classified myself as an introvert. I feel that shyness stemmed from my strange personality and most of all, my weight. I was very fat back then and knew people would often judge me when I went out in public, so I very rarely spoke up. However, I would say around 2014 during my last year of college I met a few people who actually seemed to enjoy my company after they managed to strike up a conversation with me about video games and anime, and manga. From then on I met more and more people and over time I let out more of my true self. I didn't feel restricted and instead, free. I figured if people liked me for me they'd show it, and if not, I'd know it. Nowadays I love interacting with others. When hanging out at my local Gamestop I'll often stop and talk with my friends who are employees there, and even chat with some of the customers. I guess what I'm saying is: don't think everyone's out there to judge you. Sure, some will think negatively of you without having an actual conversation, but even more are willing to give you a chance. And if they do, don't hide yourself. Allow your true personality out and show them the real you, even if it is a little weird like myself. :)

I sorta disagree with this one? I very much understand that the concept of accepting love requires one to learn how to recognize it but that's literally not easy especially when half the time, they don't feel loved because they're not given any signs of love, at least from my experience. You can't teach yourself to recognize something that never really existed.

    • @floradu2001

I guess the point of the video, the message, is that is better to not label yourself. Otherwise - not necessarily - but you might stop yourself from finding good people/activities or such, by hiding under this concept, which can become more of an excuse rather than the actual you. I consider myself an introvert. I never liked clubs and that type of "parties". I like being alone often, but not always and not isolated. I have some friends that I truly enjoy being with, and if I like (I "match") with the company, I can be a little of a "soul of the party". But for me, "party" usually means like a fire, a guitar, a good drink (not very much, just a little) and that's it. Time of my life... The whole idea is not using a word/concept to hide yourself from what you actually might enjoy. It's better to just observe what you actually enjoy or not, after you have tried it... Then just know better what is "your thing"...

Love your new video dude. However I wouldn't say classifying oneself as an introvert is necessarily the problem - using that label as an excuse to avoid spending time with others is. Labels can help us better understand ourselves but we have to remember one label isn't a determinant of our entire identity and shouldn't hold us back from doing the things we enjoy in this life.

That’s the part I couldn’t get with. Knowing that one’s self is an introvert and using that label isn’t a negative thing and no one should be encouraged to identify with something that they’re not. They just need to know that just because they’re an introvert doesn’t mean that they can never communicate or go to social events or appear more ”extroverted”. Introvert isn’t a bad word and shouldn’t be treated as such.

Being called an Introvert had a negative connotation, even when you call yourself an introvert it still has that negative connetation. I would like to try to see myself in a more positive way like I'm unique, I'm content with small things around me, I don't need a big group of friends to have fun because I can enjoy my own company. I want to live my life free of feeling different even though I am different but I don't want that feeling of being different to have a negative connotation on my life, that's why I would rather be called unique. Even if I look lonely or don't talk to a lot of people, that is my choice, that is part of who I am and my personality. At the end of the day, people who think that me being different is weird miss out on making a new friend who they could or could not enjoy. But life shouldn't be spent worrying about what people care about you. It's about enjoying who you are and what you want to do and having the freedom to chase the pursuit of happiness.

Love the video! It gives a lot of great reasons as to why everyone should lean into both introversion and extroversion regardless of which they naturally lean towards. I like to define an introvert as someone who naturally gains energy when they are alone. An extrovert is someone who naturally gains energy when they are with other people. Too much of a good thing is usually a bad thing, though. If an introvert spends too much time alone (whatever that means for that individual), they can become isolated and lonely. If an extrovert spends too much time around people, then they can fail to learn how to sit with themselves and become codependent. Every individual can benefit from learning their own healthy balancing point between the two extremes.

I love your content. I find the usage of series as examples in a discussion of deeper topics great.
For me, the 'label' of introversion was beneficial. I concluded last year (when I was 22) that I am more introverted than extroverted. Which was a relief as I kept being told I had to socialise more, make more friends, and I shouldn't be a loner etc.
In high school, I was in a friend group because one of my best friends was part of it. I did not really like going there and often sought excuses not to go. In college made friends with two classmates, I really enjoyed their company, and I would find it a shame when I would miss a meeting. I also found out during college that I did not like going to clubs. What I do like are conversations about stories, histories, politics or philosophy.
When I realised I was an introvert, I cut out that friend group and focus on a smaller group of genuine friends. I don't use the 'label' of introversion as an excuse to be anti-social or impose limitations on me. It helped me understand myself and arrange my life to make it more meaningful.
Labels are made for a group, not an induvial. Individuals can deviate from the description and expectations. I have dyslexia, but I love to read. But with the knowledge that I have it, I don't have to beat myself up for reading slower with complex language or poor fonts.
