I've played that same dialog in my mind many times over the decades. It's kept me centered, not always at each moment, but it's always there to come back to. What does matter for us as humans while we exist is suffering. As Kurt Vonnegut famously concluded in his message to babies arriving here, "Be kind."
My daughter got me thinking about this by saying nothing matters because we're all going to die. She was fifteen. I hated hearing her be so dark and negative but I can't deny how right she is. 😔
Don't worry she is a realist and she finally understood her mortality .
She isn't wrong . One day death will come to us all and all that lives in the universe. We can't escape the inevitable

Let me save time for you and say that there is no meaning of life and the only thing you can do to stay sane and continue on living is accepting the cope pill and distracting yourself from this harsh reality. There's nothing else. Take the cope pill or you'll be rejected by the society, your life will be miserable and there will be nothing you could do about it.

What a powerful reminder that we control our destiny and can truly discover our greater purpose
While we can attempt to influence our destiny, we control nothing. There are too many outside forces and whims of others to be able to actually control anything.
This reminds me of questions I once had about life and couldn't find any real answers for. The meaning of life sounds very complicated and existential but what I realised was, beyond the fact that nothing really matters, is that it's to live a fulfilling life. Whatever you find fulfilling in this world is what you should be doing. It's nothing to do with superficial materialistic victories or losses. Well, that's my view on it all anyway. Beyond that, there was some information in this video that just blew my mind, things like trillions of years being mentioned and how the narrator envisages the universe ending up. It's always been a fascination of mine, imagining the vastness of space and how infinite it seems. But to stretch out that far and thin only to fade away into a nothingness seems a bit final. Maybe I just can't imagine it. Who knows? I know I'll not be around to witness it unfortunately. Very good video!

It is a condition or fact of being a live. So they where asking what the word life meant, not some philosophical thing. I think most people get that wrong. Example: what is the meaning (of) rock? It's like learning a foreign language plain and simple. It's a word, that is used to describe something.
Once a person figures out what life is, you'll have to make your own meaning of it.

You create your purpose
This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my UA-cam channel 2 months ago about self development. Now I have 164 subs and almost 80 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I couldn’t have learned without getting started in the 1st place.
Are you making any money yet? I want to start a channel too.

What I really focus on is the value of the content and what I’m truly passionate about while helping others! I'm glad that I'm foolish enough to believe that I can actually start making money through my passions. I've never thought that I'd be able to gain more than 2k subs faster. I can't imagine how many opportunities could have been wasted if I didn't have courage to go after them. That includes having this channel, being in a management role, having the people who actually care about me for who I am, freelance gigs, being an ambassador in a creative community and now I'm also planning on honing my public speaking skills through joining a toastmaster club and these all happened in 2023. It started with writing them all down on a piece of paper. A paper that serves as a reminder for me to go after what I want even through hard times. I'm not bragging about my accomplishments but simply hoping that this message can also inspire others to believe in themselves.

I just really feel led to share something with you...when people wake up in the morning and wonder what the meaning of life is, there is only one answer, we were created by a true living God who gave His Son Jesus to die for our sins and He rose again, returned to heaven and said He is coming back for us again one day. I am here to tell you that the "some day" is right around the corner according to the Bible, His return to come and get us is imminent according to prophecies that are right now being fulfilled, and it is up to each and every individual to accept Him and love Him for what He did for us and ask Him to take over our heart and remove the heart of stone and give us a new heart of flesh, if ANYONE does that in all sincerity they will be changed in an instant and suddenly they will know in their heart the true meaning of life and what we were put here for. After having a mental break down, i have realised that life is not worth it. While people may say "What about the happiness?" Happiness is not a constant and the suffering and pain we go trough outfolds it by much more. Dying early or not being born is a gift, life is a cruel thing. Whats the point of living if i know that my family will die.
The only reason i am not killing myself right now is because i couldn't make my family and friends go trough so much pain, and it just seems selfish.
As soon as everyone that cares for me is gone i will be too.

It’s actually easier because there is no pressure to be ‘important’ or ‘successful’ because these things don’t matter in the long run. Just get out there and do whatever it is you want to do, and enjoy it.

Dude, the meaning of life is what you want it to be and that's a great answer. Yes although whatever you do and whatever impact you make doesn't matter, that just makes everything less stressful because in the end... Whatever happens DOESN'T EVEN MATTER... so why stress over it? Do whatever you want and be happy about it... Ok maybe not WHATEVER you want such as severe crimes like murder or something but whatever makes you happy, life may not be easy but if we try to be optimistic about everything then it gives us the illusion that it's not as hard as we originally thought. Besides, in the end everything's gonna be ok... Even if it's not because again it doesn't matter

I got a calm feeling after watching this video. Truth is, we stress so much to achieve goals, we strive to be perfect. We want and want, and as soon as we receive what we’ve been wanting, we come across something else. We’re never satisfied, never content. We become so tied up with work and bills that we forget the meaning of life. We forget how to live. Nothing matters in the end. Live your life, don’t take work home with you. Live life.
And yet life, whether one has meaning or not, is still bad if filled with pain, loneliness, boredom and sadness. I either need to have the opposite of those, or some meaning which makes those worth suffering. Yet I have neither.
Yeah but on the other hand I feel like it's good to always be hungry and to look forward to setting up and achieving new goals because that's what that's gonna keep you on doing your things in life. But yeah, it's still pretty exhausting when you always wanna achieve your new goals and you never feel satisfied. I think the best way is to find the golden mean where you're looking forward to new goals but you enjoy and appreciate what you have done as well.

This is the only way I see it: is it wrong? No.
BUT: It will have a reprecussion. Even if we lived in a lawless world; there will be people that loved and cared for the person/people you kill. And they'll want revenge. It's the "cycle of violence" theory. And once they hunt you down; and inevitably end your life, those that loved and cared for you will probably seek revenge on the people responsible for your death.

ɪ ...I feel nothing. I don’t know why I would feel anything about strangers that died so many years ago. To say I feel absolutely nothing would be wrong but the most is that I will dwell on it for 10 seconds then not care about it at all , that is my reaction to acts that go against general morals as long as they don’t affect my life.
I find my personal peace in the garden taking care of the worms, recycling organic waste and I have time this month so I will watch the pumpkin seeds pop up in a few days.

I've actually been hurt by people quite a lot. Ever since grade school ive been an outcast who no one accepted. But times changed and now im quite happy. Tho most people still treat me the same way ive found some good friends now and im enjoying life.bad times dont last forever.nothing will last forever. You just gotta live. Live for the things that have made you hold on till this day. Thats all life is.

No, this is truly not the way to think of our existence 🙃 We are here on earth because we were created by Him, to find Him who is already inside of us! But we are so caught up in the darkness of our soul, we hardly pay attention to the still small voice inside of us. To have a loving relationship with the Father and the Son, that is eternal life, and that is the purpose of our lives. Só meaningful !

You can say the Holy Spirit is the Mother of the Trinity - just as we as a family here on earth have a Father, a Mother and kids. The seed are in the men and because all human are from Him, He is the Father. Then we have the caring of the Holy Spirit as our Comforter, the Mother. Then we have Jesus who many times in His life here on earth (33 yrs) said: "My Father who sent Me, or the Father knows the Son .. etc". Also He said: "Our Father who is in heaven ..".

He’s obviously more scientifically and realistically minded, hence why he didn’t give a whole sermon like you’re giving here XD In all reality we have no evidence to prove or disprove your claims, but we do have evidence enough to show evolution specific biological chance on this planet, the Big Bang, the expansion, and the probably collapse of this universe. In all reality if there is a singular god then he is either cruel and neglectful for various possible reasons or a story/concept made by people thousands of years ago, left to grow, degrade, and evolve with the times and varying interpretations throughout history. Realistically the 2nd one is more likely unless and until the human race finds much more concrete proof to the contrary. And even morally I’d think it would be better if there wasn’t a god, for if there were then we would be living under and worshipping someone who supports and looks away when travesties such as terrorism, murder, and other terrible things happen. Living without a god might not have any true meaning. And hey maybe that’s scary. Certainly doesn’t help those of us with depression or anything like that. But I’d say it’s better to live of one’s own accord with no ties to a malevolent creator who seems to not truly care for us (even if there were one, which there is nothing to say there is one). Trust me man, I wish there was a good being like that too. But some things just aren’t true
