Alex, another town that is definitely worth a two hour drive from Guadalajara is Mazamitla. Beautiful, charming, and very walkable. Beautiful hiking and waterfall nearby. Because of its 7200 feet altitude, it's great for getting away from the heat. And on the way is Jocotepec...having the best malecón of the Lake Chapala area.
Have lived in the central highlands of Mexico for 6 years. Have been my Tequila several times but never been able to stop for a visit. I would definitely be on team BOTH.
Team BOTH, I love it! I could definitely see myself going back to Tequila to do this hike again & check out more cantinas! Thanks for watching & taking the time to leave a comment, Troy 🫶🏼
That view at the start really wow'd me! It's only about a 15 minute walk from the trailhead & it's before the intense descent, so even if you don't have the time or energy for the whole hike, the walk to the mirador is doable. Thanks for watching, Cindy! I always love reading your comments on my vlogs 🥰
Another great vlog. Hope to get there some day. On a side note, since it's almost Halloween/Dia de Los Muertas: time for Christmas shopping! I'm surprised that you are not promoting the "Backpacker's Wish List " from your website. Great list. Half the things I have, half the things I want.
I thiiiink you're talk about this post, Todd: backpackingbrunette.com/amazon-travel-essentials-mexico/ What was your number one must have from the list??
I’d definitely want to do both! BTW how did your Spanish exam go??? Sure you crushed it! I’ve been doing some Duolingo. Now fixin’ to get more serious about learning.
Definitely times where i got home form work, downed a shot and went for a sweaty jog to get my yayas out! How is the whiskey in Mexico? No issue getting major US brands?
You can definitely find whiskey in Mexico. The US brands are a bit more expensive since they have to be imported but nothing crazy. Taylor said there are some small Mexican whiskey brands--might be something to check out!
Are you team DRINK tequila or team HIKE tequila??? Let me know in the comments 😜
I'm team BOTH. What a great hike. Jalisco is beautiful.
Jalisco is gorgeous! Those agave fields 😌

I've heard lovely things about Mazamitla! Also, Tapalpa! Thanks for sharing, Robert 🫶🏼

Hi
Hi, thanks for watching!
Chichimeca are my ancestors! Sadly, the majority were massacred.
I want to learn more about indigenous people of Jalisco, so if you have any books or other resources that you recommend, please send them my way!
@alex-wittman Ok. My son went to Aguas Caliente and spoke with one of the last of our Chichimeca people. I will email you.
So nice and anything is good then to be a slave under a corporation 😩
It was a really nice weekend!
