This week its all about green - how to mix natural looking shades of green from two of the most common store bought acrylic colors.
It can be very difficult and frustrating to mix realistic and natural greens but I want to show you a quick and easy way to expand your range of green colors and also how to achieve more natural looking colors.
Have lovely and creative week :)

Thanks for sharing. I often use black and yellow to create a nice natural looking green as well. ❤

I love making swatches of different kinds. But since I first began watching your channel, a long while back now, that's when I really began getting a good knowledge of mixing for more toned down natural colors and I've definitely fallen in love with mixing my own colors up...its a very satisfying thing to do, relaxing to mix and make charts...but also super fun to use colors, in your own paintings, that you mixed yourself for exactly what you needed. It's a powerful thing to learn for sure!!
And you're so wonderful at it!!!
Hope you're doing well my friend 🥰

This is perfect timing for me, as I'm getting ready to paint an abstract with shades of green!

Very interesting and helpful. I would have never thought of mixing magenta with green! and there you go and have very nice results! Thank you very much Marie-Louise and have a great day 😊

I really like the olive colors you get by adding back. I do a lot of mixing when I paint. Hardly ever use a color straight out of the tube. But it’s still a big guessing game for me. I haven’t quite mastered the color wheel yet. Thanks for sharing!! : )

Yes! I love to mix greens! I started out learning rosemaling in the early 70s from a book and the only green allowed was black mixed with yellow and it was so ugly! Imagine my delight when I started experimenting and discovered blue and yellow! Lol! Oh and that pthalo is one of those words where you drop the p... thalo. I personally think 90% of those trying to figure out how to pronounce it when reading it struggle. I hear it a lot on UA-cam!

I don't have any greens at all or black (by choice) as our teacher says better to mix your own, so was hoping to get your take on mixing greens without using green or black. However your video was interesting to watch. Thank you

Great tool. However I too do not have any greens. I always mix them but now I can do it in an organised way that I can come back and use. My next job. Also love your paper plates for palettes. I am using a glass cutting board that I found in an op shop. It works real good too.

Yes I rarely use straight from the tube. I seem to have so many different shades of green paint that I either bought or were gifted but never used.
I like the ideas of the glass cutting board for paint mixing, thanks

I read somewhere that the human eye is able to detect more shades of green than any other colour.
