Anyone else came here for John Wick?
I pulled this in a competition match at NAGA last saturday after watching this video the night before. Flower sweep has always been one of my favorite moves and this setup works beautifully! Thank you!
This is a nasty take down, we run this series at my gym. The hand position on the head is key to breaking his posture, if your hand is on the neck it will almost never work. Love these videos, thanks!
Thanks guys. Like most of the stuff in our members area, this is just one out of a series which inlcudes a number of set ups, follow ups, variatons and options off of the "Flying Guard" energy.
We've got another one that I don't think you've seen before, a double leg shot that's set up by the Flying Guard Sweep. You can see it and many more of our little tricks at DamageControlMMA,com
Isn't this the same thing as the "John Wick Flying Pendulum Sweep"?? btw Theres another UA-cam video about it.
that is one sick technique....looks like it works well in no gi, i cant wait to try this out in gi!
Very well ! Dumbs up for this outstanding technique !
Excellent guys!
two words:COOL MOVE!!!!!!
and thank you for sharing 5 stars
I rather hold behind the right elbow than behind the head.
If you control that right arm, he cant defend the sweep.
this is my favourite sweep but ive never used it in flying guard. i liked it.
im gonna use it tomorrow at the training. thats for sure!
That's choice. Can't wait to try it.
nice standing flower sweep
brilliant, definitely gonna add this to my tool box.
I love how this is naturally no gi so I don’t have to learn 2 ways on how to do it
wow, flying pendalum sweep, i def will add this to my bag of tricks haha
@StackMo1
Thank you sir, we're just a couple of blokes who do the best we can, just like everyone else. We're all in this together!
"We are all one!"
G. Sudo
you're awesome, he;s awesome and the technique is awesome.
Great guys
Nice, and if you swing your left leg around you go straight to the armbar / spiderweb posistion.
really nice technique!
Beautiful technique.....is this something that you could use in a street fight.....I know that in a real fight you want to try and avoid the ground for fear of multiple attackers, but if it was just mana a mano is this a viable technique if all else fails? Look forward to hearing back from you
poetry in motion
Awesome move! Good video, thank you!
I would like to see it in battle/sparring.
I'll be trying this out tonight! lol
cool stuff, i use a variation of this alot i'll try get a vid up!
@Momentimum To say it's all on you. Also, not everyone is deep into their jiu jitsu game. It's necessary to explain as much as possible. It's like watching a movie, then watching it again and seeing stuff you didn't see last time.
Like a flying arm bar without the arm bar :D NICE!
swing your left leg around his head at 4min 12 sec, straight to arm bar / spiderweb position.
"he could jump and slam me down which would... Suck." lol
@Momentimum The beauty of being able to fast forward. You did it to yourself, bud.
we call it the windmill
Cool stuff, made my subscibtion all worth it :P
@choochoogoesit There could have been details that would greatly improve the techniques effectiveness or flow. Unfortunately not but I don't like to miss key points like that. What was the point of your reply if not to start something?
Could you go straight into an armbar instead of mount?
so could this be done to a larger opponent? I would say no but I don't understand what is making them to roll?
Im judo by nature, so I hate pulling guard because its too defensive...but this move is nice and very offensive
i actually came here from watching a video of judo techniques in john wick and he pulled this off from a failed kosoto gari
omg im so going to use this and then armbar the poor guy im taking down
So it's just jumping guard straight into a flower sweep?
You guys explain wayyyy too much! Let the green horns pay for a class and learn all the in depth reason and applications. For the rest of us we're just trying to refine and see new ways of maneuvering. I've seen a lot of useful things but it's frustrating waiting for you to actually do it.
wow, flying pendalum sweep, i def will add this to my bag of tricks haha
