If they wanted Yasuke presence all that much, you could have him as an NPC giving you a sidequest (considering he is just an historical curiosity, the samurai title for him is bs) and nobody would care.
Ubisoft is finished, you can't say that you respect other cultures and then release something so culturally inaccurate that you end up pissing off an entire country
Then essentially say “sorry, bit sorry we’re still releasing this game”
We didn't check local sources but we wanted to believe it and we know we bent convention for yasuke but still buy our game
So what Ubisoft is essentially saying is "We're sorry that you chose to take offense to our deliberate misrepresentation of your heritage and culture but we're releasing the game regardless of your protestations."
In the first three seconds of the public PV, I was convinced that this was a different world than Japan.
And many Japanese felt that they had gone out of their way to choose a novel that was set in the feudal era but was completely unconvincing.
Why didn't the experts and consultants who know Japan well introduce better novels?
When I found this comment from the official, I even felt indignant at them because there are many historical novels in Japan that are closer to the historical facts and have a sense of realism, and they act very unkindly.
I remember that feeling became even stronger just because I was looking forward to it.
Not having a Japan man protagonist in a feudal Japan game or even a movie is very is like not having a black guy character in a GTA.
They should not have chosen a real person as the protagonist. They have never done this in a previous AC entry.
They were so desperate for the DEI points that they thought Yasuke would bring them. A monumental misstep.
If they were adamant about using a real historical figure, then there are plenty of famous Japanese Samurai they could have chosen (Miyamoto Musashi or Oda Nobunaga etc).
They deserve the backlash. They are totally insincere.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Yasuke was better off being a supporting character in the same way DaVinci was. Ubisoft could have made a dlc later about him becoming a samurai.
They could have made Yasuke an NPC and no one would have cared.
@MartyMacFry They needed as much DEI points as possible.
Ubisoft had for years a pitch for Assassin's Creed set in japan where we were meant to play a ninja character who was trained by the assassins who always was part of the lore.
This. If they wanted a historical figure, Japan has way more famous samurai that are more fit than Yasuke (who isn't even a samurai from all the evidence that came out about this issue).
All they did was compete with Ghost of Tsushima but no, they effed it all up.
Well, Ubislop still have Star Wars Outlaws going for them, right? 🤭
....right??.....
…….rriigghhtttt…….?
Japan have a statue of a dog who died waiting for his owner to return, they do not have one of Yasuke. Let that sink in for a moment
Akitainu Hachiko
@@uservl7di9ti5y that's the name, thank you. My brain is like a sieve sometimes 😂
Ubisoft getting scared
Ubi- here’s our new assassins creed game starring a samurai and shinobi set in feudal Japan=Yasuke *Tada*
Mr H- you had one job
If I were a Japanese creator, I would create an anime or game or both that would shit all over Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed.
The Assassin's Creed formula can be used (simply get rid of the bloat) for a game set in japan where we play as a Kunoichi that uses different outfits and dresses as a disguise mechanic for the stealth. Getting chased by armed soldiers? Change your clothes to a temple priestess dress so they don't notice you.
The female ninja did exist they derived from the edo period of japan
they were commonly referred to as kunoichi which was a term that was used to identify a woman though no historical records about female ninja has ever existed
The role of the kunoichi is said to have been espionage another term for this act was called kunoichi-no-jutsu
Facts about this can be found in the Bansenshūkai there are two versions of this book the koga version and the iga version there are ten books.
Watcher's is also a term used for Shinobi, because they worked as regular people whilst covertly spying.
Women would be especially good for this duty whilst working the Yukak's, as drunken pillow talk could be a very useful source of intel.
But Ubislop will carry on with it.

Once again Nate pitches an idea that is *LEAGUES* better than what a big name studio does.
William was also in Nioh
So what
"chick Ninjas" did exist, just rather rare, but they would not run around dressed like this or with a sword across their back in public.. not stealthy remotely, you obviously missed the female "ninja" in shogun.. don't hear you all whining about her
Ninjas were more thieves and spies for hire than assassins and female ninjas known as Kunoichi used seduction and their sex appeal like another tool of their arsenal.
Because Shogun did it right. Unlike this unrealistic dog samurai which never existed.
@@teddnaing6851 i mean no disrespect to the guys, just that Culture keeps insisting they did not exist, they were spies and occasional assassins (if called to be), the crap that Ubismeg is pushing is just unbelievable, but to just deny they existed entirely is passing on bad information
