It just goes to show that an amazing guitarist doesn't have to shred 100 notes a second to put out a great solo. When a guitarist can slowly and creatively manipulate the strings of a guitar like David Gilmour, it's only then that the person has mastered the instrument.

Oh my. I was there every night for the taping of this concert. I recall this particular solo most of all. I have seen him many times over the last 30 years or so, and last year as well, but this solo is just seared into my brain. I can still hear the echoes. I fully intend this party to continue - after the Gilmour and Waters tours/concerts of 1994, 1999, 2001, 2006, 2010, 2012...Waters will play Nassau Coliseum again this September, after the total solar eclipse on August 21st. I'll be "there" (it's a space, not a place) once again, prompted this time by the dark side of the moon itself. I don't recall a parking fee though... ;) Thank god I won't be driving.
