That LS sounds amazing. Sucks the Dyno day didn’t go as well. I would have wanted to see what the 1.8 engine can do.
We know it makes about 300whp at 16lbs and 250whp at 7lbs on 91 octane. The question is what happens when we push it to 25,30,35lbs like the whole setup was designed for.
This is why hub dynos are so much better (and safer)
What transaxles are you guys using? IIRC you were using a B5 Passat box. I would be very surprised if it could handle the hp levels you're discussing without serious modifications.
It's actually the Porsche 930 4 speed. One of the strongest out there. We'll probably find it's limits at some point. :)
The orange car runs the Passat 5speed.
Gentlemen, I am truly impressed by both your vehicles. You are very lucky to be experiencing a father/son bond such as this, regardless of mechanical issues.
