I make my own pinto beans/refried beans in the instant pot about once a week. They are so good. I don’t have a Trader Joe’s near me, but I shop at Aldi a couple of times a week. (I live in an upstairs apartment so a weeks worth of groceries is too many trips up the stairs for me. I love to see what you get.
Broccoli is not on the dirty dozen list for high pesticides. Broccoli is on the non organic list meaning it has same nutrients. I love jalapeño and they do differ with heat .

As a WNY resident, I also would love to have them. I researched, and the only place to find them for us here is through Walmart online. Or through Amazon. 😞🙄 I am planning to make an order because I am so interested in trying them. 😊
Thanks for an Aldi haul! Even though there are quite a few around, none are as convenient as TJ's. Plus the stores are quite small, so anything on sale can be gone ASAP. (except maybe tomaotes or tiny avocados). I do like their frozen Brussels sprouts and their bagged baby spinach is better than most at a better price. Their jars of sauerkraut are wonderful (it is, after all, a German company!). If you have any Dollar Tree stores near you, they always have a big variety of Snyder's pretzels at $1.25 for good-sized bags.
I love hummus, that would be perfect for my snack instead of eating a whole bowl. Would enjoy hearing about the protein bar. The portable blender in next week’s add looks just like the blender I’ve been debating about buying. A lot of great things at Aldi this week.
I am in Europe now and I do miss grocery shopping at Aldi in the states and TJX and Costco! And dollar tree! We have Aldi here too but not the same although the food portion is fabulous in Europe! Just sad that huge fridges are uncommon here! 😊
You have a great Aldi. I went to one here in North Carolina and the one I went to was terrible, but I heard there was another one just not that close by where I live, but I’m gonna have to go to a different one because when I went, it was just terrible produce was old and it was a small one and no good but you get some of the best stuff.
Katie, do you still have your garden, or is the California heat just too much for some things to grow well? I know some places can't grow much in the summer, due to the extreme heat. Was just wondering because I don't hear you mention it much anymore.
My garden is so sad this year. I don’t know why all my sprouts died. The heat isn’t helping. I do have nectarines ripe on my tree which are delicious. My apple tree produced 5 apples! First harvest and the tree is about 4 years old. My basil plant is alive but hasn’t grown at all. Other than that everything else didn’t do anything :(
Heck yes! An Aldi haul and Sneak Peak Preview! You made my day as I know my workout is gonna be that much better watching your vid! I love the prices and size of Aldi's frozen veggies and always pick up a bag or two of my favorites. Don't know if you saw it when you were there but they also released ube bread as an Aldi Find! It's so good. The bread is soft and has a deep, subtle vanilla flavor without being too sweet. Aldi is also killing it at the organizational materials this year. Those under-bed storage boxes are a great deal. I'm hoping they stack well on each other so that we can fit multiple ones on top of each other as needed. I did not see the Ube bread! I wish I spotted it. I’ll have to look for it next trip. You’re so right about Aldi coming in handy with the organizational items. They have everything you need.
She did a whole video making it. Pico is super easy just chop up onion, tomatoes, cilantro, jalapeño or serrano chilies, squeeze of lime, dash of garlic salt. I like to add diced avocado.
Thanks Katie. It’s just me and no one I know shops at those membership clubs that’s why I love to see TJ and Aldi! Today it’s 70 degrees in southern New England. Also I’ve never had Mexican food, it never popped up in my neck of the woods. So I don’t get the taste. Maybe I’m an old alien. 🤣 Please don’t hold that against me. ❣️

Yes I just hate the waste. Even expensive things don’t last like they used to. It’s all on purpose so we buy more. The planet doesn’t need more waste is all I’m sayin 🤷🏼♀️

Red peppers hummus with pretzels is my 17yo fave snack. She loves it, so I get it all the time!
