What I do to prepare for fall is start gathering lots and lots of ingredients for my special pumpkin bread. I gift our police department and fire department with baby loaves at Thanksgiving . Usually around 140 loaves. I love to support them ♥️
Tim's facial reaction to the naan pizza is priceless!! I use the multi grain lveg blend for soup or stews. All the veg is there and saves me from the chopping prep step. I should have followed Katie's lead and looked away during the Calamari. I literally gagged!! I grew up on dolmas, as they are part of my nationality food culture. They are very easy to make. But truth be told, my friend has to cook the rice for me, because no matter how often I try, I can't cook rice.
Living in the Phoenix, Arizona area, we don't really experience "fall" until around Halloween. But fall is in all the stores and grocery stores. When it cools down, I like to make soups. I invite my family over for dinner a lot. The tradition we have is that we make chili on Halloween with all the trimmings before the kids come trick or treating. I love to see the kids, from babies to teenagers come to my door! I am getting to fly to the Midwest to be with my sisters and go on a road trip with them up North in Michigan in September. I'm sure that we will see and feel and smell the season of Autumn there. I can't wait!
This is incredible Katie! Love your revisiting items/showcasing your own recipes with them. If there's ever a "light" taste test, this an incredible idea (no other hauls do this) 🎉
What a fun and creative taste test--clearly the cats wanted to take part, too! 🐱🐱 TJ's garlic naan is astounding and so flexible to use either as the bread itself or to make it a pizza/garlic bread. Don't get me started on the dolmas. Those mixed veggies can be used for pretty much anything. The semi-homemade flexibility is great. I use mixed veggies for fried rice mixed with eggs and also in a pea/minestrone chicken soup. It's super quick to use and I love TJ's convenience! Tim, thank you for braving the calamari! It looked... interesting... and I agree. On its own, it's just too strong so it needs to be cooked down with an acid and added to a dish. And yes, you guys pronounced Meritage Paso Robles correctly, hahaha! 🍷 For fall: I love going to the harvest festivals and pumpkin patches. The scenery and sounds and smells can't be beat there! Thanks for a great video, it brightened up my Saturday.
Katie, like you, the Starbucks release of all of the pumpkin drinks and food items signifies fall. It also starts to feel like that time of year when I start pulling out warm throw blankets and switching to warm drinks rather than cold ones when I go to a coffee shop.
😢 me crying because Trader Joe’s in Upstate NY doesn’t carry wine. Okay, moving on… Fall is signified with baking pumpkin cookies, getting my Halloween coffee cups and wine glasses out!!!!! And, finding all the awesome fall goodies at Trader Joe’s!!
Oh, Katie, I had to close my eyes too!! Tim is brave...Don't put the calamari in your earthquake kit.😉 I am into wine; with the donuts = yum! I love everything about Fall; pumpkin butter, yummy candle scents, the pumpkin patch with my grandkids for fun photos, etc.
Starbucks is usually my first excitement for fall, soon followed by TJ’s bringing out their butternut squash Mac & cheese. 🎉 We love going to the local growers in our area to get fresh peaches and pears. Then, later in the season, we go back up there for pumpkins of all kinds. The white ones are so fun to decorate with!
I love whenever the pumpkin spice and pumpkin flavored items arrive from Trader Joe's and other stores I go to! My birthday is near Thanksgiving, so that's always an exciting time, and when the leaves colors are at their peak is my favorite 🍁💖
lol, I’m with you on the calamari, yuck. I went to Costco the other day, have you seen the 6ft werewolf? Good Halloween decoration for a party. I hate to see summer end, but I will be putting out the throws on our couches to curl up with a book. I do enjoy using the fire pit and having friends over. Have a great week 😊
So glad you reviewed the dolmas as I have not picked them up because I thought canned dolmas were unlikely to be good. Who needs new products! Fall is the time to change the wreath on my door, change the plantings in the pots by my door, watch for migrating birds & the change to fall colors and get ready for soup/stew season!
We do an annual trip to the cider mill for fresh donuts and apple cider. When my grandchildren were young, we also visited the pumpkin patch. I also love when it gets cold enough at night to switch to my flannel sheets and change my comforter. Fall is also my favorite season!
Swapping out light jammies for flannies, stock up on tea and hot chocolate for the winter, new fuzzy blankets and socks. I love the fall. There's apple orchards everywhere for picking. It's my favorite time of the year❤
Fall for us will be going to the Apple Orchard to pick apples , make apple sauce , mini apple pies, apple cobblers, , walks to see the colors around us , pumpkin picking , hay ride, corn maze , roasting pumpkin seeds & making pumpkin pies. We don’t celebrate Halloween . The grandkids try on different outfits though & look at themselves in the mirror. Costumes such as Cowboy , Astronaut., Doctor , Firefighter, nurse & etc . We celebrate Thanksgiving & Christmas. Thanks for sharing the Trader Joe’s Taste Testing .
Yes!! When we’d come home from school my mom would monthly change around the LR furniture just for fun. We never knew when she would do it so we never knew what we were walking into. 🤣🤣 She was a fun person!
Tim your reaction to calamari was best! U took one for the team and we appreciate!!! We always go to the apple farm in fall. What signals fall for me is football and when Wegmans brings out the cinnamon broom sticks and the Halloween decorations
I don’t like most things straight from the can, but Tj’s Dolmas are one of my go to’s whether it’s a quick grab for lunch at work or an appetizer at a gathering. I’m amazed how good they are just out of the can. The only down side is they are covered in olive oil so you want to have paper towels nearby.
I love the dolmas, too! I have a few little fall traditions. I have a Halloween mug with a witch hat lid to keep my coffee warm, so I'll start using that. I have some fall decorations that I put out, too. And yeah, Starbucks PSL and TJ's products.
For fall, I always put my fall table cloth on the table. It has sunflowers on it, and it’s a favorite of mine. Fall for me is usually pretty stressful as I’m a teacher, and it’s the beginning of the school year with so many unknowns. I’m looking forward to next fall because after 36 years of teaching, I’m retiring after this year.
Loved this video because there are a lot of items at TJ that I haven't tried yet so it was fun to see. Will definitely be getting the naan garlic bread. I love everything about fall. It's my favorite time of year. The different coffee drinks to decor shopping and even visiting local farms for pumpkin picking and fun activities, so excited 🍂🍁🎃
There’s a Cider Mill near me, so getting a jug of apple cider and apple cider donuts is the one thing I need to do every fall. Thanks for the reviews :)
We've started getting a hint of cooler temps in the morning here in metro Atlanta, and it makes me giddy! I keep lists of monthly rituals (we call 'em our "salt" lists - they're no-pressure, and we don't stress if we don't do everything, but... they add a little salt to life each month!) In late Sep, the first thing is to switch to the Harvest scented candle. In Oct, it's a million things, but I queue up our family favorite Autumn/Halloween movies pretty early! There are so many good ones! 🍁🎃🌾
For fall I change my wreath on my front door and buy about 6 mums I love all the different colors you can buy. I also start diffusing the oils with a spice scent
I think the frozen multigrain veggies blend would be great as a soup. Simmer your favorite stock and add this blend to it, and serve with warm crusty bread during the cooler months. I've never tried TJs apple cider donuts, but they look pretty tasty. I think I'll try to pick up a box on my next store run.
I have a large front porch, so I put my fall pillows on my rocking chairs and bench and a fall wreath on my door and an arrangement on the end table then I put a fall yard flag in my front garden…makes me happy. 😊 I live in Texas so it’s still hot as heck here, so it’s not even tempting to decorate yet.
Pumpkin spice latte’s are definitely my first fall tradition. Also sending my Hubby to TJ’s for all of the pumpkin products. Lastly getting ready for Halloween. I love decorating for Halloween and I also start shopping in July for decor as well. It’s funny because I stay in Seattle for the summers but live in NYC, so each year I have a suitcase worth of decor that I’m bringing back. 🎃🎃
Starbucks PSL is an absolute must for me. My mom made sure to pick one up for me on the first day 😂. I also love pumpkin spice hot chocolate and cereal and almost everything. When I was in preschool one year my class decorated shoeboxes to store valentines cards in but I’ve taken it into the fall and have a Halloween decorated box for all my candy 🍬
I don’t start decorating for fall until Oct 1st. Too hot in AZ to think about it. I get my Halloween and fall decorations out then. That’s my tradition- Oct 1st! We don’t really see cooler weather until mid- late October unfortunately. When the weather is below 100 I can start thinking about fall. 🙂Thanks for the taste test!
If you love dolmas, you should try the ones from Costco. They are really good. It’s quite a large container though, so you might not want to buy them unless you’re having a party.
I'm so excited for the apple cider donuts i love to pop them in the air fryer and they taste amazing. I will say i enjoy the aldi apple cider donuts a little more bc they're more doughy. My fall tradition is i decorate for Halloween in September. I love Halloween and one month isn't enough for me to enjoy all my decor.
Those Dolmas are made in Bulgaria, Katie. That’s one of the foods they do very well. BUT, it’s not as good as my mother in laws. Straight from her Bulgarian kitchen. 😄
@@KatieHespe haha. Katie, they would get stale. Airmail from Bulgaria would take way too long and most likely get stolen. I have to go there to eat them. I am headed there in a few weeks so I will think of you while eating my dolmas. 😄
Love Dolmas! Thrive Market has good ones in a can too, if you’re not close to a Trader Joe’s! I’m also the only one who will eat them in my house, so the canned ones are perfect for me!
there´s this Onion pancake thing I love....I dont even like to use the stove, but for this Trader Joe´s onion pancake (from the freezer) I´ll use it! You´ve never showed that (that i can recall) answer: I was quite upset when it was a day late....(it was actually 2 weeks late but whatever) There´s a ¨local¨ fair called the big E and when everyone gets exited about it, thatś when Ik itś fall
I have a wonderful halloween collection and I started looking through my containers. I always is my very favorite holiday and my three kids keeps tell it's not I have made all our costumes but living in Hawai'i, we have Halloween Festival every year with restaurants and come the their restaurants and you purchase food and kids can trick and treats. It's a wonderful time and many Halloween decorations that is Hawaiian style
I love calamari in a good Italian restaurant where it’s fried and you dip it in marinara sauce what that was looks so gross that I understand your face Katie because I was gagging. I was surprised Tim can eat that. That look worse than cat food lol. Orange is absolutely gorgeous.
The Multigrain blend with vegetables is really good in a wrap with some hummus!
Great idea!
Nothing makes me happier then Katie & Tim post something
The kitties in the back 😍
The kitty’s nose twitching at the fish smell was fabulous! Almost as great was Katie’s visceral reaction to the *gag* calamari. Great work!
What I do to prepare for fall is start gathering lots and lots of ingredients for my special pumpkin bread. I gift our police department and fire department with baby loaves at Thanksgiving . Usually around 140 loaves. I love to support them ♥️

I would have to look away from that calamari too, and i am not a vegetarian. Hard no on that one. Thanks for taking one for the team, Tim.
When I have leftover chuck roast, I make soup using the multi grain vegetables. Just add beef broth, tomatoes, and potatoes if you want.
😂 Tim's face during the Dolmas😂
The cat wants the calamari
😂

I’m actually really excited for that calamari lol 🦑
Perfect timing, taste test before I do my TJ run. Thx Hespe family!
I look forward to these donuts, they are so good💕
🍁 🍂 Fall is when I take down Easter decorations (pastel vases, eggs, and candleholders) and put out my rustic Fall decor ❣️🍊💚
That’s was a long intro to a bag of grains that has been at Traders Joes for years lol over 6 minutes.

Love you guys doing the taste tests. The Calamari might stink & suck but the packaging is really cute LOL
Orange is ready for some octopus. Don’t bogart the octopus, Tim!

I love the cat photobomb
Your cat was like…”Any cat treats for me for the taste test??” “Guess not…I’m outta here!!” 🤣
😂😂😂
Tim ate “My Octopus 🐙 Teacher” 😂😂😂
The cats would love the calamari 😂
Question for you the Hespe's: What's been your favorite Halloween costumes?🎉
When the kids went to school for the first day, when they would come home I would have all the furniture changed around in the living room.

I agree about the oil!
I love the mafalda pasta. But none has been in my NJ store for a year
I saw you bought. Is it seasonal?
I love the dolmas, too!

There’s a Cider Mill near me, so getting a jug of apple cider and apple cider donuts is the one thing I need to do every fall. Thanks for the reviews :)
I love your kitty in the video ❤
❤❤❤ I just had the pumpkin cold brew this morning. I pick apples from an orchard and make apple crisp.
I'll have to give the Apple Cider donuts a try this year.
We've started getting a hint of cooler temps in the morning here in metro Atlanta, and it makes me giddy! We go to Julian every fall for apple pie, on the way we stop at Dudley’s Bakery. Thanks for your videos, I always enjoy them.
Walking Chico our chihuahua on a warm late summer evening, the wind blows and leaves fall in downtown Long Beach. That's it for me.
Our Fall tradition in NJ is going to the farm stands for apple cider donuts

My favorite is when the leaves start turning colors & falling from the trees 🌳
Try pairing the Dolmas with TJ’s Tzatziki (regular or vegan).😋 🍇🍃
I love decorating my house for Fall. We also take a drive to go leaf peeping in Sedona AZ.
Would the multigrain veggie blend be good in a soup ? I think I’m going to try that.
The vegetable packet with black beans and a little enchilada sauce, mmm
Fall means football!
Family pumpkin carving party. Everyone brings a pumpkin, carves them and then we take a picture. I have a great idea for young kids, it’s great

Oh this video made me chuckle…the cats and the calamari reactions!😂
I bought the calamari today and I actually drained it and rinsed it a couple of times and then ate it right from the can and it was much better.
I was cracking up with the calamari!! 🦑 🤢🤪
looks like ALDI has a new Ube Bread .. if u happen to see it at ur Aldi, would luv to hear ur thoughts! 🍞🍞

Dolmas are my favorite product at TJ's, the ones with the quinoa are good but the rice are better, they are better than I've had at Greek restaurants
Great taste test! Thank you:)

the cat stole the show lol
Hey, went to Trader Joe's on Sunday = and they had the Magnifisauce back in stock, so bought 2.
Really?! Great news! Thank you for the heads up. I will be buying 4 to start 😂😂😂

I decorate with pumpkins, small and medium. Also my daughters birthday is on Halloween so I plan a family party.
I cook the multigrain veggies on the stove top with olive oil and add onions. Yum
What type of sauce if any does the calamari have
Instead of heating the donuts in the microwave, trying sticking them in the air fryer for a minute or so ... just like fresh-made! 🙂
How are the dolmas compared to the ones at Costco?
I’ve never had the ones from Costco. Now I feel like I need to try them.
Fall scented candles
Thanks for sharing!
Mine is scary/ halloween movies, and sweatshirts cuz I love chilly weather🥶
I always find the prettiest mums for the front porch. Local growers if possible.
Watching a review of the calamari at trader joes
