Fabric dyes! When my clothes inevitably lose their colour and start looking worn down, I'll buy a fabric dye and the clothes look brand new again. :)
Blue Dawn dish soap to spot treat stains works wonders.
It's used to wash oil off of wildlife (as shown in their ads), so clearly it's effective for tough-to-remove substances 😊
I also use Oxiclean. Works great! I spray it on, leave it for an hour then gently rub and pour white vinegar on it. Comes out every time
Another great product is an air fryer. We use ours all the time. Hardly ever use the oven.
Definitely!
I’ve been using wool dryer ball for over 10 years. Love them. I bought my first Foodsaver well over 30 years ago. One of the best inventions of the 20th century 😂😂. DO NOT BUY A HOME IN AN HoA. They tell you what you can and cannot do in your own home!🤬. Toaster oven is a must!
Do wool dryer balls help your clothes to dry faster? Just wondering if it saves on electricity or natural gas. Thanks.
Nurse here. Asics are ther only shoes I use. They carry me from work to the gym, take a beating, wash well and last a long time.
This is what the pediatrist recommended.
Good to know. Thank you 😊
Same here. Asics are my favorite!
Would love the sourdough recipe and starter recipe. Want so much to make it myself.
@@lorifarina646 Rosehomestead website has a really simple starter recipe
I saw some hiking/waterproof boots another youtuber was wearing and I asked her where she got them and what they were called...
I then searched the name on amazon and they were $209, like you, put it in my cart and let it sit, I got them for $50 less on a sale!!
Currently they are $179, still better than $209 but getting them for $159 was awesome!!
Leaving stuff in the amazon cart is always a great way to shop 🙂
Thats a good one
Hydrogen peroxide will get blood out of fabric. Also, boiling water will get a berry stain out, it is amazing. My aunt used to pick blueberries in white pants, believe it or not. She never worried about getting the stains out.
Thank you. Any thoughts on grease stains? Now using an apron but still want to fix my shirt.
@@dswarts9386 Dawn dishsoap asap 😊
@@dswarts9386Hand dishwashing detergent
Definitely glass meal prep containers, game changer! X
Most of the Ramsey books are free on Hoopla which most have access to with their public library card
I have many crock pots and I have one I got at a thrift store in the 80s , it’s a style from 70s ! Works better than any of my newer ones . I love cooking with them. I agree that stores often don’t have the stuff I’m looking for 😕.
That is awesome!
Yes, i do like, and use dryer balls. 😊
Thank you for your great tips!
Menstrual cup and reusable cloth pads. Also good for the environment.
Liking before I watch cuz you always have great tips
Thank you so much! That means a lot 🤗
Same here. Guaranteed helpful content.
My kiddos’ backpacks have all come from LL Bean. Around $40 and pretty much look brand new 5 years later. My pre-schooler just got LL bean and I only paid $25 for it. About the same as those character bags at Walmart and I know it will last.
Quality backpacks, great idea!
Great video. I had wool dryer balls but don't like them. They were very loud in the dryer and I didn't feel like it took the static out.
Thanks for sharing!
I bought yarn & made my own cleaning scrubbies. I haven't bought sponges in 3 years. Also bought reusable paper towels in Jan this year. I have bought way less paper towel this year. I bought the biggest container of softener earlier this year & only use a small amount if any. I am still using the same container. I did the same with the original blue dawn (I use this for dishes, hand washing, & cleaning). Still on that same bottle of dawn (it only takes a drop!).
Thanks for sharing!!
Please explain in dept...wow..thnx
@@A.M.Independent.Consultant I had watched a UA-cam video on how to crochet dish scrubbies. They are great for cleaning. I use them with Dawn to clean my sinks & tub. Just one drop & it suds very good, even with hand washing (buy the smallest bottle & use the biggest one to refill it so it is easier to control). I am halfway through the bottle now. For softener, I don't use it every time. It's really not needed & if you do prefer it, it doesn't take much at all, just barely cover the bottom of the cap. You can get reusable paper towels online (I got mine on temu but they are very thin, but I still put them to use).
Another tip is with hair conditioner. I get the big bottle with a pump. When it stops coming through the pump, prop the bottle upside down on top of a empty container (I used an empty body butter container). You'll be surprised how much conditioner falls out (I haven't tried it with lotion but you could probably do that as well).
@@user-qy3wr2tx5p thank you so much..looking that up now
I’m making pot roast in my crock pot right now….
N utilizing my glass containers for lunch this weekend…
So many things we as adults of the 70-80’s k ow and try to teach but now days the young one think they have it licked … maybe some new things are good but the tried and true classics never fail…
Dog grooming kit ($40). It has saved me a couple of thousand dollars over the years.
Tools to change summer/winter tires. Saves us $500/year.
Library card. Free access to books, magazines, videos, video games, puzzles. Saves us a fortune.
Bicycle. Ride to work 2-3 x a week spring through fall, and to do errands close by. Saves a ton on gas, car maintenance.
Reusable cloth napkins and cleaning cloths. Don't spend money on serviettes or paper towel.
I love this!! I was hoping you’d make this video when you mentioned it last time. Thank you Jennifer!
Carly, thank you so much!
Been buying Ecco walking sandals are pricey, I walk 3-4 days a week and 3-4 miles, more when I'm on vacation. I buy them on Amazon when they go on Sale.
I like Ecco, too check out Brooks walking shoes also they are excellent
Regarding using the Food Saver. I love mine. I also use it to reseal bags of chips, etc, or even salad bags. It makes it last so much longer than clips. I don't suck the air out, just reseal it.
I cut my hubbys hair and use a great hair clipper set from Costco- saves a ton over time! I buy concentrated cleaner that lasts years, instead of buying separate watered down products (I like Mrs Meyers concentrated all purpose cleaner). I use my espresso maker, instapot, air fryer, and my nice blender everyday! Saves me tons of money 🫶 I use cloth towels instead of paper towels. I still buy a roll here and there for messes like bacon grease and oily messes that would ruin my towels. ❤
An air-fryer, use several times a week, especially in the hot Austin weather.
Along with a good lunch box....a good lunch container. Bentgo which you can buy on Amazon is a bentobox fashioned in Japan that is a good quality lunch container with the added benefit of being portioned which helps me control how much I am eating and the bentgo container I like has its own cutlery, knife, fork, spoon that is stored with the container. It heats well in the microwave and stores well in the refrigerator. Wonderful video as always!
I’m figuring out how to make meals for 2 servings. That way my roommate and I make a variety of meals but for smaller portions. Our freezer is not big and I don’t like having many leftovers so making them in smaller portions is easy to prep, easy to cook and easy to clean after.
Another thing is I got from Costco a quality pack of thick silicone resealable snack bags. They come is 2 sizes. I’ve had them for 2 years and I’m very pleased with it how it seals and stands upright and it's just the right size to throw in a medley of things for a snack when I'm hungry after work.
Thank you for always presenting excellent videos with quality content. Always great connecting with your ideas and the comments. It truly is a beautiful sense of community.
Thank you so much!
Love my Yeti tumblers. They are definitely worth every penny. Use mine everyday. For shoes, Brooks Glycerin, are my splurge. I found them when I could hardly walk because I had plantar fasciitis so bad. Within a week of getting my first pair, I had no more pain and I have never looked back or bought anything different.
I am so glad you found shoes to eliminate that pain.
I do a lot of these! One thing you didn’t mention was buying nice glass sprayers and containers with a spout to make your own cleaning supplies and laundry detergent! Doing this this year has saved us a ton of money and the stuff I make works just as well without the harmful chemicals.
Fels Naptha (bar soap) is wonderful for stains in your clothing. Crockpots are wonderful, come home from work to a warm meal already prepared. Thanks.
Just for the record, I turn the motor part upside down with our Ninja bullet, not the smoothie liquid part. That little machine packs a punch and accomplishes a lot! Also, I LOVE my recently purchased wool dryer balls! They work great! :) I truly wish we could use an antennae for TV reception, but we live in an area that we literally get zero signal. - Harriet G.
I purchased my first *Vitamix* in 1994 (still have that one too), and 25 yrs later purchased a new Vitamix. They last decades, can be passed down, and are quite versatile. In 2019 (months before Covid hit) I purchased a *handheld bidet sprayer* (I got the *Rinseworks Aquaus 360* , the model that attaches to my bathroom sink faucet, for warm water). Loved it so much, I installed another one in my downstairs bathroom. Inexpensive compared to all the toilet seat model bidets, and (IMO) much better. I use it every day! 16 yrs ago I purchased a *BedFan* and have used it most nights since. Great for the hot flash years, or summer nights. I sleep warm, and the BedFan dissipates air between my sheets. I don't need to crank my A/C down as much, so that saves $$$ on my utility bill. I also purchased an *Instant Pot* Duo (pressure cooker) 6 qt years ago and use that often. It's up there in practicality with a crock pot. Just one of those items you love to use.
Thank you for sharing!
Love your apron! My son brought a linen apron home of the same design that had belonged to his old (male) roommate who had gotten it from his mother's kitchen. My son was surprised that I immediately saw the value and asked him for it. A simple but ingenious, outfit-saving design.
Aprons are great!
Wool dryer balls, caused by child to break out with a really bad rash when he was around 6 months.
(Borrowed a dryer)
I needed to give him a baking soda bath to get rid of the rash.
I use norex dryer balls. Instead of the sheets.
Amy, thank you for sharing this!
I bought a bread machine in 1997 and still using it. Regular bread costs 50cents a loaf. Now being gluten-free I pay at least half as much making my own.
Vicki, that is amazing! Talk about price per use...wow!
Great video my car has saved me thousands, my Toyota Highlander just keeps going also have purchased a speed queen washer another great quality. Item.
I love Caroline‘s Iron series!! I’ve been doing it for over a year or more now!
Cassie, I'm so happy to hear someone else doing that series! The results are great ❤️
I have a couple of those wool dry balls and I love them.
Since I have gotten older, I’m in my mid-40s, I do buy better quality clothes they last much longer. I also make my own bread, my own coffee, canning a lot of food so I know all the ingredients that are in my food.
That is awesome!
Library card! Thank you Jennifer!
Our Coffee mate (it was a cheaper brand) died on us a few years ago after 15 years of use. Invested in a Bunn coffee maker and it's going strong. Invested in a 10oz yeti tumbler for both my husband and I for Christmas last year. They fit well in the car
I've always bought cheap coffeemakers until I recently decided to invest in a Cuisinart Coffeemaker. It makes delicious coffee, and I'm glad I purchased it. Some online stores will email you a coupon or a discount code if you put something in your cart and leave it there a few days without purchasing it. I love your video as I love to see what other people buy and use. Happy Fall.....it's on its way!
Happy Fall, Linda! 🤗
Rubbermaid Brilliance food storage containers, TAL water bottles, Brooks running shoes, ballet barre at my house to do at home Barre classes, air fryer, lunch tote, Worthington career pants from JCPenney, crockpot, ACT mouthwash wash, Earth Origin sandals, and Skecher wedge sandals.
Love the practial gifts
I was also gifted a Lodge dutch oven, good quality
Using my Mr. Coffee Iced Tea maker (purchased at Walmart in 2008) and my Rubbermaid 2-quart container, I've been making my own iced tea for at least 15 years & bringing it to work. I need to do the math someday! Also, I qas gifted a countertop icemaker & I used it every day. I buy $1/gallon water to use in it. Better ice and we don't have to buy those expensive water filters for the fridge.
I love my Food Saver. In NC House of Raeford has bulk chicken sales. I buy 40 to 80lbs of chicken vacuum seal it and freeze it. Saves a ton of money.
I get Naturalizer shoes & booties. They always have sale & free shipping.
I have a le creuset that I picked for my 25th year work anniversary several years ago.
Thank you Jennifer❤
Love my instant pot pro and instant omni pro (14 in one), saves energy, space, time and eliminates multiple appliances ❤
Having a toaster oven is a money saver. Small pans that fit can be found at most stores & even thrift stores. Bake ware too.
My slow-cooker crock pot had for many years got it on Sale an All- Clad brand pricey on sale but worth it.
Good quality booties they last for years since only used in winter.
Tennis/running shoes - I trust Fleet Feet. My favorite shoes - Naot - handmade in Israel. Expensive, but top notch quality.
Judy, I have that store near me, but haven't been there. I will check it out. Thanks! 🤗
I buy the white Zote bar soap at Walmart (always a steal at the price) - grate it down in 10-15 mins of time and store it for my laundry, use vinegar for rinsing and the clothes smell great and stains come up…
I use left over pieces of my rose scented castille soap as spot remover. Rub it on the spot scrub at with a little brush and toss item in to wash and ta-da spots gone … I’ve saved hundreds of by doing it this way. The name brand pods and liquid soaps are all just hype and money wasted…
Quality shoes, I found my favourite leather ballerinas few years ago, I wear these everyday, have one in black and one in nude color. I bought the same shoes few times already and hope to continue that way.
Yep, bunny ears and the channel changer was us kids 🎉
I LOVE my Foodsaver!! I won't have it any other way....amd yes I also love my electric toothbrush....amd my stand up freezer as well which has helped me to save sooooo much money which i call MOLLA!!😊😊😊
Love it!!
I really like my Instant pot. Use it often. It uses the least energy of all other cooking methods. UNDER THE MEDIAN did a test on their UA-cam channel and compared all the cooking methods and Instant Pot came out on top. I also like to put things on my Amazon list and wait for price drops. You always share some interesting tips. Thanks a million.
A stanley stew size thermos or a yeti will be a God send. 1 job supplies a meal, but other one dont. 😊
I would also add.., notebook, bicycle, hot water bottle.
That’s crazy for a community/HOA to disallow a clothes line! I would put one up and use it, regardless-- because that is absolutely insane. What’s wrong with clothes hanging in the backyard for a day to dry(???). Yet- it’s likely the same people who made that “rule” who tell us global warming is going to end the planet here soon. I suppose it’s better to use electric to run a clothes dryer. This is the strangest thing I have heard all week.
Or, I would get in the HOA Board to propose the change in the rule and put it out for vote.
@SarahFox-y1f Genesis 8:22(KJV) God said 🙏🏽
I remember rabbit ears
Ha! I couldn't remember that name for them when I was talking about them in the video 🤣🤣🤣
I still use rabbit ears😂
Me too!
I really enjoy your channel! Thanks for the great content! I was wondering if you might ever do a “frugal fashion” video. You always look so nice and put together and I’d love to know your tips! I’m especially interested to know where you buy your lovely clothes and jewelry. Any advice for buying high quality stylish clothes and accessories at a good price?
If you get a grease stain on yourself while you were in the kitchen cooking, grab the dish soap and Schmeer some onto yourself. It’s like presoaking.
Great tip!
Schmear… Lately I’m really enjoying when people use phrases from a while back that you don’t hear as often! 😀
Hi Jennifer 👋🏻
Hi Maria! 🤗
Heres my money game changer..a cold brew maker! A $40 cold brew maker on Amazon will save me $5 a day for a large cold brew. Not to mention the price of bagles and treats, donuts and breakfast sandwiches you also purchase with your coffee !! Also saves time! Trust me when I say this, get a coldbrew maker ... its super easy!
Great idea!
TY for the video
I use my Dutch oven to make bone broth❤
Great idea!
The Naots last a long time.
Stain remover lol. Peroxide, bleach and Awesome (all multi use). And hairspray for things like ink. I also use the DT oxy powder. Yes I also use wool balls. Sometimes they need a little extra help for static cling tho. I use these Seventh Gen natural sheets sometimes and with those you can only use partial ones, as they have perforations on them you can tear off if you don’t need a whole big sheet every time.
Haha. Now I’m thinking I want a food saver also. 😅😅 And maybe a Yeti although I’m still pretty happy with my cozies. Lol.
I can say ditto for most listed as I already use most of these. Toaster is also a combo mini air fry, roaster etc. I use that little thing more than anything else. Lol. Got also the 3 qt InstantPot which doubles as my crock pot. Found a vented pot lid at the thrift store that I use when I slow cook. Fits perfect. I love also how I can just reheat the inner metal pot on the stove top (or the oven) and store in fridge.
The electric toothbrush is spot on. I just got mine earlier this year and I glad I did. It did cleans better. Actually that is my second electric toothbrush, I had my first one but from a different brand and it just shakes so I don’t think it does a good job. Thus, I bought the second one; brand is Oral B. I have faith in Oral B since I like their manual toothbrush so I thought why not try their electric version. Oral B version cleans really well, I feel squeaky clean as the brush rotate as if you brush manually but with 100 speed. Just make sure to watch the video on the toothbrush itself, it might hurt your gums if you did it wrong. 😅I’m not paid to promote it, just sharing good stuff so you don’t have to buy the wrong one and can save money 😊.
I love my Sweater Shaver.
My dentist noticed right away when I started using an electric toothbrush.
Yep!
Same!
Rechargeable lithium batteries
I will get:
Stain Remover
Dryer Balls
My tips:
Induction Burner. (You can use it anywhere. It has a timer. It gets
to exact temp. Once you turn it off, it's not hot.).
Portable Air Conditioner ( I put in my son's hot Southwest Room)
Toaster Oven (I put it on my back porch for summer)
Oven (I fill my oven up with food in the winter and freeze for summer. That is giving you heat)
Instant Pot I love it!
I love your list. This was a great video

The Induction Burner will be hot for a few minutes.
I brought some new black socks from marchells those wool balls ruined them all little pills dryer balls gone
Oh no!
It wont save thousands, but mini washing machine since I live alone. Trips (trip gas & time) at laundromat.
I've often thought about buying a food saver but I always thought the bags were very expensive, similar to printers, they printer is cheap but the ink is outrageous cost.
Are the bags expensive?
They actually ate fairly reasonable.
I usually cut my bag length a bit bigger than I need. When I empty the contents, I thouroughly wash and air dry and save for another use. You can get several uses out of one bag.
I buy generic brand rolls from our local H‑E‑B grocery store. They are good quality.
Costco sells a large box for $20 and occasionally they go on sale
What is a food saver called in Europe? Is it a laminator?
Teresa, I don't know what they are called in Europe.
According to Google it is called a vacuum sealer in Europe.
Which yeti lunch bag did u buy
I don’t need to buy any of these. I am an older person over 60 and older people do not need these items because they no longer work cook or have anyone to take care of. They need someone to take care of them so all these items are not for older folks. They are for younger folks who have children. I don’t have that kind of money to buy those items that are useless to me. Sorry just honesty. The best policy.
❤❤❤😮😮😮😊😊😊
Tried the antenna but wasn't in range so it didn't work
Cynthia, that's a bummer, but maybe you have beautiful nature if you are far enough to not be in range for antenna. ❤️
👍👍😊
I have a really good one; UA-cam. I have taken miles of ides from UA-cam. I did the entire series from Caroline Girvan. She does not longer post new videos. She has an app. I am following Sydney Cummings Houdyshell. Try on her when you are done with Caroline. Both are excellent. Thank you for the video. Love.
Claudina, thank you for the suggestion!
