God that workflow of just dropping the vocals you want delayed on to another track is so simple but genius. This will literally save me so much time what a gem this video is.
I don’t understand why this comment does not have more likes. It was literally surprising how easy this workflow is and I would have prolly not noticed w/o the comment
Another great video. I just love these short format videos. Easy to follow, not too much information, just great! Edit: I loved the level 4, with saturation.
These videos are very important because they explain terminology which is often a big barrier for people. Often, amateur mixers know what they want, but don't know what to search for as they don't know the name for certain techniques.
Good point. For me I was in the opposite that I know what throws are but just wasn’t getting good results from how I was doing it. This was a great vid.
LOVE this video! Quick, nice (yet powerful) tip - and showing how to implement with one of my favorite plugins! Spectacular :) More, more, please! haha I want to create a cool YT playlist with awesome tips like this I can reference ;) (I definitely like Level3)
Hey guys. Does the vocal track need to be stereo in order to make benefits of the width, ping pong delay and reverb features on the HBV. Or you can just put on a mono vocal track and the HBV turns it stereo? Cheers
What about a vocal track with a lot of processing eg. with UAD's? In a big project, we can't just duplicate.. takes too much CPU, but you duplicated just a certain vocal track and dragged it down.. so it's a unprocessed track? Can or should we do that? Or should we bounce in place/render/print the processed vocal (without any other delays and reverbs of course) to work with it?
I’m having trouble getting the throw to not be phasey with the original. I’m understand the delay needs to be set at 100% wet. Is there something else I could be missing? Help! Thanks!
I was going say that cutting and pasting phrases instead of automating mutes or send levels restricts you to using the delay on just one vocal or instrument but then I remembered that REAPER allows multiple audio events to occupy the same space on a single track.
i guess you could also duplicate multiple channels, copy little snippets to them, but route all those duplicated channels to a single send or bus with a single delay on it (to avoid having to load a bunch of identical delay plugins)
Thanks for this.. but when you copy a word or phrase to the delay throw track, how do you get ONLY the delay throw to be heard on the delay throw track, so that the original word that is being delayed is not ALSO heard duplicated at its original time location on the delay throw track as well ? Nobody explains this in any tutorial video..
you put the delay's mix to 100% wet so that that track only outputs the delayed signal, NOT the original undelayed vocal. this is explained in this video.
@@DAVIDJCARON most delay plugins will have a "mix" knob. from 0 to 100% you are either playing ONLY the dry unprocessed signal (0% mix) to ONLY the 'wet' delayed signal (100% mix) 50% would thus have equal volume of the undelayed sound and the delay tails. 100% means you ONLY hear the delayed sound out of this track.
@@DAVIDJCARON also what delay plugin are you using? some plugins will have independent volumes for "dry" and "wet" or something like that. in this case dry is 0% and wet is 100%. sometimes it's also called input/output mix (the balance between the input signal coming out unprocessed and the processed output) or similar.
why did you choose to do it that way instead of automation, Is there a personal reason or just preferences. and do deh add the same processing to the delay that you add to the original vocal
Hi, bro. Tq for sharing but my style is duplicate the track, then lush it with Big reverb,+ moderate 1/4 note delay. Mix it back with taste,,It works for me. Again ,Tq,though, food for thought!!! 💪💪💪

Fully! That golden nugget made me like and subscribe 🤌🏼
Good job showing the different genres and how it fits in each one. Very informative. TY!
Hey there's another level! You can sidechain the duplicated fx track to the original vocal and have it stand out more that way! 😁
Yeah, these short tutorials have been great.
This was both educational and a good showing of that vocal plugin, wasnt particularly interested in it prior to this video but it actually looks sick
I like the delay reverb and lofi the most!

This was a perfect video expanding my knowledge of what I could do with a plugin I've had since it released! Thanks for this.

Level 3 is just right for me!! What a great inspiring video Joey!! I've got this secret weapon loaded in my tool belt now
This video is fire

Nice video!
I liked level 4
such a great inforamtive video
Thank you
great video editing too
Level 4 sounds great on this track
Level 3 with some widening would be perfect. Great tip about copying the clip into a new track for processing.
Love it bro, how would you tap tempo?

Thank Yo VERY!!!) 2nd var my favorite) It so Native:) And, what is the name the background track, please!))
Level 4 is extra cream !

Great video..When u duplicate the vocal, doesn't it raise the volume since it's doubled?
Yes, but he has the mix of the delays 100% wet, which actually cuts away all the dry signal until the delay happens.
@@dylanwerle1971 Thanks for the explanation bro.Appreciate it.
Great trick! Hey Joey are you finally moved to Reaper?
Can i get the name of the 1st song? Thank you.
Great ad for the plug-in.
I think level 1 is enough in many cases. But level 3 also sounds very good to me.

level 3 for me in this example.
hard to say which one i liked the most = the plug in is sick tho

3!but 4 is ok depending on cases
