funny to think that the world's greatest metal producer of all time is just here on youtube chilling and making low key production tutorials. what a time to be alive
This video was amazing, it kept my full attention throughout. I love how the explanations are very clear and complemented with a lot of sound demonstrations.
I’ve only ever really done volume and lofi automation for movement in songs so that high pass filter toggling off to give a sense of more bass sounds really cool. I’m going to have to try that in my next mix if it fits.
you know what for years i went off Sturgis productions because of that super typical "Rise Records" sound - it really started to annoy me for some reason! Im happy now listening to his more recent productions as they've progressed from that overly processed sound. Love you again Sturgis
Awesome tricks, made me think, could possibly toggle a stereo mix to go from mono then back to stereo? Maybe use a channel splitter on the master track and automate one side to bypass for a quick part of the song?
This is great stuff, thank you! Would you do the Volume Automation on the master track of the song like you did in the video, and not in the mix session?
I love this, now I’m really excited to get recording after being scared to do so for so long 😂 I love the first lofi effect one a lot. That really really helps! Thank you Joey!!!

This might be confirmation bias, but he keeps dropping Reaper hints on and off too.
Honestly tho sick as heck
Yeah I remember being back here when there were just clips of studio demos like Attack Attack!, Asking Alexandria, and others
Man, your tips have been pretty useful and on-point. Also, on-the-house. Thanks
It is making me quite happy to see so much REAPER on this channel lately 🥰
Smooth 6, the best Reaper theme :)

Great fundamentals Joey, thank you for your teaching throughout the years!
Is it just me or does anyone else think Joey Sturgis is one of the best producers out there?
This is such a great channel. Thank you!
Love this new series!
Your tips always inspire me and light a fire in me to go back and try to nail the mix I've been working on. Thanks, Joey!
Wow. I love the easy explanations, and the real world examples are actually good. Thanks.

genre (?) contrast. E.g. a metal song that has a short edm or break beat section between a verse and a chorus.
Great video! What is the name of the song around 05:02?
Your reaper skin is great! What is this skin and how can I get it?
Smooth 6
@@joeymusic check out a newly released theme called MyTaste, it's finally dethroned Default 6 for me
This is great stuff, thank you! Would you do the Volume Automation on the master track of the song like you did in the video, and not in the mix session?
Depends on the scenario - both have valid application depending on the desired outcome.
Anyone know what these songs are, or if they're just demos that Joey made? Maybe some future AA! songs in there?
Ew plz no more AA 🤮
