The one at 7:10 is a Porsche 936/77 www.supercars.net/blog/1977-porsche-93677/ The 936 was a weapon in its day but the top speed is slightly optimistic but not by much. This was one of the first cars that could be truly thrashed for 24 hours and make it to the finish. I don't know the other one. The back end looks familiar but I still can't pick it. It's a Cosworth engine though, either a DFV or a DFL. You can't miss that sound.
good question, I definitely understand you but here it was quite hard to do that. For example the finish line + arnage is not a option to film the front of the cars... wel I was able to do that on the finish straight (Tribune) but then you will hear more sounds of the commentators speakers I think. And for me it's also the most important to share the exhaust notes around the circuit... and most of the time that's when the cars accelerating.
Pls find the nite in car footage ...if u missed it of the Diesel Peugeot a few yrs back going down Mulvane...I'm a Huge P3 ...917 & Marra 12 cyl fan ...but that drone of the DIESEL Peugeot...Hair raising it was...
