Yes, you answered my question in one video. So it's the valve stem seals I need to replace. I've searched forums far and wide and never got a conclusive answer. Thanks much 👍
awesome video! i want to add that if you have blue smoke on deceleration (letting off the gas pedal) it’s another sign your valve seals or guides are worn. letting off throttle causes a vacuum on the intake side, drawing oil through worn seals. also check your spark plugs! worn valve guides will usually accumulate oil on only one side of spark plugs. if spark plugs are entirely covered in oil, this indicates piston rings. that’s all i know on blue smoke, hope this helps someone.

But lot of blue smoke
If your car is a diesel with DPF, can we see smoke on the exhaust too?
(some say that the DPF catches all the smoke an then we cannot diagnose if the problem is piston rings, or turbocharger)
You will see after it get cloged
Amazing ❤
I just changed my spark plugs and i need some new valve cover gaskets QUICK!!!!
Very informative video thanks 👍👍👍
my car is only smoking on high rpm (3000+), no smoke coming out when warming up the engine or idling, what is the cause ?
Thank you for your detailed analysis. As for valve seals, will it smoke under hard acceleration as well?
You are right... also (he didn't mention) If the seal is cracked or worst, broke off,,, it will act just like a broke ring. Have to determine the miles, how it was drove.. etc...
I had bad valve stems seals and car smoked all the time...once I replaced no more smoke!
hello i have a 2008 328i and after a minute or 2 of start up the abs, dsc and brake light turn on and the wipers go crazy as well as a light shake from the engine does anyone know what could be wrong or any tips
If he had a dollar for every time he said guys just in this video never mind how many times he must use it in everyday situations,
Would be a rich guy, no punt intended
can you help me im trying to figuire out with engine on stand not in car!!! Thanks
What about a faulty turbo? Couldn't this also be causing the engine to burn oil?
Correct
i actually have a car with broken piston(broken piece from the side area) and it does only smoke at min rpm, once i start driving it doesn't smoke anymore until i don't release the pedal gas again
