7 years on and it is still very moving tribute to a group who lost their lives so tragically- Coldplay such warm-hearted people
Major respect for coldplay for doing this in all honesty. Never been a massive fan of coldplay, they didnt have to do this at all but they chose to give the biggest shout out and recognition and tribute anyone could give and for that I have so much respect for them now.
this is why these guys of Coldplay are big and successful. Humble and kind. I bet Viola Beach are proud wherever they are.

Say what you will about Coldplay (I will admit to liking a couple of songs) this is probably the nicest and most epic, heart touching tribute to anyone I've ever seen. Even if you're not a fan of all or any of their music they deserve a lot of respect, they really seem like genuinely good people.

Came here after watching Coldplay on TV, Glastonbury this weekend. Chris Martin just wanting everyone to love each other. Quite moved. That positive message combined with immense musical talent is pretty powerful.

A great tribute to Viola Beach and a great cover. No one I have met has said its not good nor has anyone I know who was there. So what exactly are you talking about lol
No... Things like this usually blow up over night. This hasn't, it has been lost in the recent shootings all over the US, the Eu referendum and politics that followed it. So yes, this is underrated.

4 and a half years on and this is still a performance that has stuck by me. I listened to viola beach so much and it makes me bawl every single time i watch this. such an amazing thing to do
The Album's actually pretty decent, maybe a bit ahead of it's time actually. Don't think I got it back in 2016, although I was obviously very saddened to hear of their passing.

I love Coldplay, and I know plenty of people who don't like their music, and that's ok. But I won't have anyone tell me that they aren't great people. Stuff like this, the One Love Manchester concert, refusing to play the Olympics and playing the Paralympics instead is what exemplifies how great they are - above and beyond their music, which I also love.

I was in the crowd with my wife it was absolutely brilliant
As Chris Martin said..before the tragic accident it was more than likely that you'd never heard of Viola Beach..a group of young guys just signed to a record label hoping to make it the music industry. Such a fantastic. poignant moment . And a brilliant song. ..it made me quite emotional I have to admit even for a middle aged oldie like me.
I remember reading about what happened to them at the time, I then found them again through this song when it was on a playlist a few years later and looked for more of them only to remember what had happened. Props to Coldplay for not only paying tribute to them but also for not just covering the song but for letting Viola Beach to perform on the main stage even if it was only on the screen
Just watched this again as I saw an article about Viola Beach and again this bought me to tears. What a lovely tribute - and what a lovely set of guys Viola were 😢

Coldplay you have my utmost respect. The lads would not have believed what you made happen. I just want to say that the people of Warrington salute you. As a town many of us have found it hard to know how to grieve. Many of us knew one or more of the lads + some knew all of them. It was an absolute tragedy. We have to try to make a positive out of a dreadful negative + you have certainly helped do that.
I come back to this performance a lot…amazing way to honour the memory of the band and amazing for Coldplay to do it when I don’t think anyone else would have

they were once a very new band and now look at them. Who knows where Viola Beach could be in 10 years time if it wasn't for the tragic accident.
I think in Colombia or Latin America in general we would have loved it as well, such a shame, but their Heroes cover was still awesome
One of the many reasons this is my favourite band. Such a touching tribute to a band that was taken far too soon. I’m sure they’d be absolutely huge now! What a way to honour them! Coldplay are not only an amazing band but far more than that. They are amazing people too. Just listening to the first 3 seconds of one of their songs picks me up whenever I’m down. They have changed my life and outlook on everything. I look forward to the day I finally get to attend a live show and see the people who bring so much happiness to this world in person. Rest in peace Viola Beach 💔❤️🩹❤️

Being from Warrington where Viola Beach were doing music and were they made music it’s so good to see how people are finally realising how good they are and how kind Coldplay are

It must be like having your heart crushed losing a Any of your kids,especially when they have grown into very very talented musicians.
as I think we have all have said before my sincere sympathy goes out to the families, friends and fans of this brilliant band.
i actually hadn't heard about them until I saw on news about them, but I'm sure everyone would have heard about them as they were on verge of being big,they really were.
so thanks to Coldplay they played Glastonbury and I hope they were listening up there and proud of the brilliant music they did make r.i.p guys,always remembered xx

I live not far from Warrington. I was born there as were my kids. My youngest was in a band back in 2014. They had won Band Wars back in 2011.
In 2014 they were in another Battle Of The Bands in Warrington and were up against Viola Beach. They lost and I knew that Viola Beach would go onto bigger things.
It was a privilege to have known the guys.

You know what I’ve been going to Glastonbury for a long time now and I think this might be my favourite moment. The atmosphere that night was perfect and this tribute was the classiest gesture I’ve seen from a band. And the tune is great! I probably never would of heard it otherwise. Absolutely top class from Coldplay.
Never forget this moment .. thank you coldplay . Still play this song to this day . I send love to all the mothers that lost beautiful sons . Rip ❤

this is my new coldplay cover obsession (it was don't look back in anger before). boys that sing is so, so painful even though it's quite an upbeat song. i just can't stop thinking about this band that was just on the brink of stardom. so, so sad
I've seen this now a lot of times, every year i come back here to this video, remembering these talented young people, remembering their tragic story, and have a tear in my eye. RIP beautiful lads.
