I did not know of this band but I woke up this morning and saw what happened when I turned on my computer. The headline read that a band died and as I looked at their young faces I thought "my god, all of them?'' I am an older guy and I have been through and seen some terrible things but I cannot imagine the horror these boys friends and family are going through right now. I hope you all come together and help one another through it. I will learn their names and put them in my favorites and share the music videos with all my friends. I am so sorry. R.I.P.
+david johnson Thank you for your post. I awoke to the same news and feel the same way. Thank you for posting my feelings too. My prayers for their rest in peace and comfort for their friends and family.
The thing that strikes me is how they look around at each other at the beginning of the song, grinning ear to ear, kind of in "holy fuck guys! We're playing at bbc!!!" Sort of way. They were just starting their lives, and how exciting a music career can be, you can see they were just soaking it all up. How tragic that what they loved so much indirectly brought them to the end of their lives. Rest easy, boys.
2022 - these guys would have dropped so many fantastic albums already. Missed dearly but never forgotten. Your songs live on and I listen very regularly ❤️
Viola Beach is the kind of band you listen to on a summer day when everything is alright for once and they're the kind of band that you wanna see playing at a big festival and scream along to their music while having the time of your life and it's so sad that that will never happen again. Such a loss. :(
Have the lyrics stay with me you're bittersweet tattooed on me in memory of these glorious boys, lucky enough to see them at there last UK show, where River knew who I was from the last gig they did I was at, and Jack laughed at me and my friend dancing, then came to spoke to us, I'll never forget that evening, my fav band of all time, the only comforting thing is to know so many people are enjoying their music now.
I get melancholic listening to this album. I love every single track, but constantly remind myself that these poor boys are no longer with us. Just think what else they could have gone on to do.
I live in Omaha, Nebraska. I discovered you guys the day after the heart wrenching news and I am still so torn apart. Why? Such beautiful talent. Such amazing young souls. I love you guys and i haven't been able to stop listening to this song, at least multiple times weekly, since the horrific accident. Sweet angels, please keep on rockin' wherever you are, whatever you believe in
Lauren Shippen I've been the exact same Lauren 😔 discovered them the day after the incident and have been a fan ever since. One of there last shows was in cork, Ireland, where I'm from. If only I knew about them then 😔
Just look at how jack was feeling that session, he had a massive smile on his face and he was proper going for it. It's crazy how I can watch a video this happy and feel so damn sad, it's just not fair, man. They were so young and talented, rest in peace fellas.
I discovered this band this year . And fell in love with them to the point there were my most played band on Spotfily wrapped, I wonder how big they would have become if didn't happen
I come back here time to time just to listen to this live version, they looked so happy, they had such a path ahead of them, so painfully sad and tragic, but this video keeps them alive, more than any other in my opinion ❤
Almost 2 years gone and still listening like it's the first time. Can only imagine what they would have achieved if they where still with us. RIP lads.
Coldplay's tribute at Glasto2016 bought me here. Such a tragic event. Very sad. But I love their vibe/sound, right up my street this brit rock band style. Think they were gonna be huge. I'll be buying the album in July....def worth a listen!
I heard about the recent tragic events. Came here and was blown away. The energy and space each of the members give to each other is amazing. Good rock is hard to find lately. These musicians are soo talented to hit a certain feel good sound that will probably never be replicated. In a quagmire of bands that just want to make it, I can see that these dudes seriously just wanted to make great tracks. RIP
I just heard their song "Call you up" and fell in love with it, then decided to listen to other songs of the band and I wish I never read the comments.. So sad to know they are gone. RIP and thank you for your beautiful music!!
such young bright talented guy's lost forever to the world of music. my heart goes out to all the fans and families of viola beach. may they rest in peace. their stars have been snuffed out before they had a chance to shine. such a great shame.
it makes me so sad ,I watched all of these Viola Beach BBC sessions back in November when they were posted and I had a great feeling about the band's sound and honestly thought they'd become big like James Bay did because I saw him on these BBC introducing sessions before he was famous too.....I added all of Viola Beach's songs to my liked playlist and listened another few times but I could never have expected what happened less than 3 monthd later, R.I.P. lads ,I'm happy you got the no.1 album and the Glastonbury performance, you will be remembered as a great band forever
This song should be in FIFA 17. I used to play FIFA and it's definitely got a similar vibe to a lot of the songs the games feature; it would also help to support the family and I think they were Manchester City fans so it seems fitting. RIP all 5 who died, very tragic. After listening to their music I can concur, they definitely had a bright future ahead of them.
Sorry to hear these dudes lost their lives in such tragic circumstances. Music has given me so much over the years and so it was so sad to hear a young up and coming band had everything taken away from them so early in life. Thoughts and condolences go out to their close friends and family at this very difficult time !
Great talent - I love indie music - it's unbelievable that they've all killed in a tragic accident - their first gig outside the UK and this shit happens - it's beyond crazy.... So sad.
Very sad they are gone. I tend NOT to notice contemporary music, but looked them up when I heard about the tragedy. Although they are no longer with us, I find it encouraging that they were producing such interesting work so recently. If I am not careful I sometimes get into my "nothing good has happened since the 80's" mode. This group are challenging my prejudices!
+David Holdstock I'm 33 now so often think I won't find music as exciting as when I was in my teens or early 20s, or that anything new will be stuff I've heard before. But in the last 2-3 years there have been a number of strong albums I've bought, some from bands I'd not been into their previous stuff: London Grammar - If You Wait, Bring Me The Horizon - Sempiternal, Wolf Alice - My Love Is Cool, Arctic Monkeys - AM. Also, bands I'd been in to for years released strong albums: Foo Fighters - Sonic Highways, Iron Maiden - Book of Souls, Biffy Clyro - Opposites. So it's worth keeping your ears open or you could be missing out on something you really like!
+David Holdstock Right now music is more diverse, nuanced, exciting, experimental etc than it ever has been up to this point, unfortunately you've fallen into the same trap as your parents, grandparents etc seeing the world through the filter of the mainstream because you're not actively involved in discovering new music. When you were a teen, people your current age were saying exactly the same about the music you were listening to at the time.
Will Tye Yes, I agree. I tend to look at what you might call the mainstream. In the 80's though, what you might call mainstream (ie what was in the charts) was very diverse. Everyone knew about it too, and everyone experienced the culture together, and at the same time simply by watching Top of The Pops. Today music seems fragmented. I have the feeling we have seen everything already.
This is incredibly sad - I hadn't heard of them in South Africa but I love Indie Music. There's no doubt these boys were going places, great music! A sad loss - my condolences to their families.
La historia de esta banda es tan triste definitivamente te hace valorar las cosas y agrdecer que estamos vivos ,que descancen en paz y que su musica perdure para la enternidad 💔
found their music on spotify, loved it. wanted to research about them like i do when i find bands i like. ended up learning about the tragic accident. :(
Very sad way to discover such an amazing band. I can't imagine what their families are going through right now. I'm very sorry for their loss. That joy you can see in their eyes while they perform... Rest in peace, talanted musicians :(
I saw a quote from them saying that if you can't dance to it, start again. And they're bopping away whilst playing, clearly loving every beat. Sometimes you see bands who don't really get into the rhythm, and just stand there..
Bitter Sweet, first time I have heard this bands music, really nice, sweet, solid and tight sound. Unfortunately like a lot of recent comments only just got tuned into Viola Beach because of the reports of this terrible tragedy. But hey, lets keep positive and strong for the families, friends and fans, will keep listening, great music and musicians that will no doubt be missed, music is infinite and these boys, the music, the love will live on forever... Thanks Viola Beach, RIP.
They have the world on their feet... So soon. I'm crying!!!! INCREDIBLE MUSIC HERE!!! Rest in peace boys. You will never forgotten. And you are all so cute! :(
In 2017,listening this boy band and can't believe that all of them died.I'm so sad 😢.They were so great. If they were alive, they could make wonderful things and make history of music history.I started hear them in a radio in Brazil where I live
I discovered Viola Beach pretty recently when I watched Coldplay’s Glastonbury set from 2016, and they played one of their songs as a tribute. I absolutely love all of their music and I’m very grateful to have discovered the band. It’s so sad to hear what happened to them, RIP and thank you guys for making such amazing music ❤
Just discovered this band after reading about the blossoms and then discovering them. Love their stuff, such a lot of talent they could’ve been huge. RIP
Sadly I just recently heard of this band through their unfortunate death. I was never a talented musician in any sense, but any song I truly enjoy I envision myself on stage performing it while I'm listening to it trying to trudge though my own sad life. I've had this song on repeat for the past few days, wishing i was as talented as them, and it really has made my dull days a little brighter. Not worth the cost of talented young lives but if I ever had the chance to shake their hands and thank them I'd be honored to.
I'm almost three times their ages, but I liked what I heard above. You can feel the energy and see they were enthusiastic guys. Hopefully, even younger musicians will pick up the baton and continue in the same vein. But right now I'm thinking of their parents, relatives and close friends in Warrington. God Bless.
Absolutely heartbreaking to know that they are no longer with us ... Talented young musicians with so much to share ... Sadly being robbed of the chance !! RIP guys 😥
Tragic way to discover this awesome band...
Too right, they were so talented
+Kyosika You summed up, in such a few words, what I thought,
exactly what I was thinking

+Kyosika Feels bad to thumb up the comment so I leave one. Yeah the potential was real in these youngsters.

The excitement, ambition, the fucking youth in that room, gone.
Gone, but their legacy lives on
Now it's just a case of: 'What if?'
Amen.
I record at the same place as they did! What a fucking waste, they were on the road to making it! What a band they are/was gonna be
@@scuti2595 They would definetly chart top the UK Charts if they still kept going
p.s. ik, their only album charted at the top.

@Shawry08xox You are most welcome. ✌🏾
Think of these guys often. Such talent. Hope the heavens are rocking with your tunes
Viola Beach is becoming one of my favourite bands after listening back to their stuff, so tragic that their talent and lives were cut short.
I get melancholic listening to this album. I love every single track, but constantly remind myself that these poor boys are no longer with us. Just think what else they could have gone on to do.
This song was never off the jukebox in the pub tonight. I don't think this band will ever be forgotten.
Till this day, i try to listen as much as I can. Time is moving so fast, we can not forget them.
My heart still physically hurts for these boys.

What tragic news. A band on the cusp of a promising career. Superb track. RIP xxx
