Great video and good instructions! Can't find any other videos on how to troubleshoot, only videos on how to change the fans. I really don't want to take apart the fridge if I don't need to.
Just had lg tech fix my refrigerator. The compressor was changed 11 months ago. Now the tech said there was a low side leak, usually in the compressor, refrigerator coil or the compressor coil. So he changed all 3 items. He said this is a very common problem. Only cost me labor. The refrigerator is 8 years old. If it goes out again I will buy a new refrigerator and it will not be LG.
LMXS27626S/01 is the model. At the back of the unit, there is a panel secured with 4 screws. Remove those screws and the panel cover should pop right out :). I don’t believe I captured removing the panel cover but you can see the panel cover in this video: ua-cam.com/video/YD6i7bKsXzA/v-deo.htmlsi=VEH8npoux2e3M2g8
I have 2 LG televisions and happy with those. was going to buy a large t.v. for the living room. My experience with this bottom freezer LG was great till about a month ago when the compressor failed. it now sits in the garage till I figure out what to do with it. Got a new G.E. top freezer which we are very happy with. Everything is disposable after a few years, learned my lesson.
Check if your LG fridge warranty is still valid. The purchase warranty for mine was 5 years and we barely hit the end of warranty life. LG replaced our compressor for free. LG tech said the compressor itself has a 10 year warranty.
Thanks for the video. I did the test and both evaporated fan in the top and in the fridge is not blowing. What are the chances that it’s Both fans going out or is it something else?
I’m both fans don’t usually got out at the same time though it is possible. Could also be a problem with the motherboard if multiple parts are not working at the same time.
Does LG have a interface device to troubleshoot a refrigerator. Something more in technical so we can monitor real time fan speed, compressor speed(inverter model) damper position, etc.....
@jonastriesanything I have had a LG service tech out twice for a brand new refrigerator that will not cool below 40deg set to 33. He has thrown a couple parts at it with zero troubleshooting. Seems to be a common problem for the model I bought. I couldn't find any videos of such a device to aid in troubleshooting.
had code 22 but the board was no good. Test for 200vac at 2 pins to the right on con1 for compressor. Unplugged connector/ after pressing test button once. It ramps up to 118vac not enough. Also no led indicator lights on board. If you have a 22 you need to take extra steps to rule out pcb board.
So my freezer is not cold enough. All of my food is thawed. It's cold like a fridge. I've did the test things. The compressor is running. The evaporator fan is running. The fan in the freezer is circulating but doesn't seem like the one in the fridge is? I unplugged and plugged it in and changed the settings to 0° for the freezer and 35° for the fridge. I am going to let it go for a half hour and see if it is getting colder? I don't know what else to do. Also about three weeks ago it stopped making ice. It was making ice just fine and then suddenly stopped.
Most likely the compressor is bad. Check if it’s making a loud noise and/or if the compressor is hot/very to touch. If yes, then it’s a compressor issue.
LG replaced my compressor at no charge. They extended the compressor warranty on fridges that used the defective compressor. I mentioned this in a previous post, the "22 22" code when doing the test button is NOT an error code. It is a technician code to show the relay is off. The technician told me he has never replaced a relay because of failure. When I bought mine, the parts warehouse told me it was the 1st time they ever sold one, so take that for what you want.
I have gone through the diagnostic tests, and everything seems to work properly when in diagnostic mode. The fans blow cold air in both compartments. But, when I reset back to normal mode, the fans don't run and the compressor runs non-stop (gets very hot!) Any ideas?
@@jonastriesanything appreciate your reply! You may be right, but I'm wondering: if the fan(s) are not blowing the cold air into the fridge, then wouldn't that cause the compressor to be running all the time trying to bring the temperature down? And, as mentioned, the fans seem to work normally during the diagnostic modes, but then quit working when it goes back to normal mode.
I did all the steps per video and everything worked correctly until I unplugged after last test and waited 30 seconds and re plugged. Air did not flow back into refrigerator can you advice what problem could be..? Thanks!!!!
If not cooling, most likely that the compressor is dead. If no airflow, it could be that the circulation fan is broken, iced up, or a blown up fan fuse. I recommend reaching out to LG support to see if your fridge’s warranty is still valid. If yes, have a tech come out and run a full diagnostics.
I did everything like you did and it blowed cold hair from fridge and freezer but after the last step when i unplug it and replug it it stop blowing cold air inside the fridge
How forceful is the air that's blowing out of those two ducts? I have a French door fridge that is cooling for about 45 mins then it stop cooling until the fridge temp is up to around 40-41F then starts cooling again but it never maintains a consistent 37 degrees. It's maddening! Any idea what it could be? In test mode 1 I feel cold air blowing and I tested the fridge thermistor but not the defrost heater/defrost thermistor-- could those be responsible for stopping the evap fan from running and maintaining a 37 degree fridge? Or is a control board issue more likely? The freezer cool perfectly fine though!
If air is coming out from the air ducts, then fan should be fine. In my case, the compressor went bad resulting to cooling issues. Do you still have warranty for your fridge?
@@jonastriesanything Warranty expired a short time ago (I've had the fridge for just over 5 years) but I DID get a universal compressor installed by a very competent LG factory tech who replaced it on September 30th (2022). The freezer is fine, but the fridge just won't hold a

@@CNY_AP my compressor was replaced on 9/30/22. I have a feeling that the issue is with the fridge evaporator as every other component tested as working. I think it's unlikely to be a control board issue so I'm going to pursue evaporator replacement.
