thanks. How tight did you have to make the cable to get it to go vertical? I don't want to over tighten it. Mine is slipping and then motor will freeze. It goes up better then down. Going down is pretty much unusable.
yeah mine is pretty tight as well. Using the Sony a7 III, 12-24 G on a Manfrotto 536 and N12 head. There shouldn't be a problem. May have to send video to Cinetics.
Edelkrone SliderPLUS is bit more advanced 😉 as it has follow focus and it seems to have easier controls as you can just manually move the camera by your hands and set the keyframes etc. Although Edelkrone is more expensive than this, but its also more advanced.
Hey there , great videos, Ive been searching for a 3 axis slider that uses its own remote and also uses a phone , in case one or the other works, I currently use the iFootage S1A3 bundle, i had broke the remote and checked for another one, but cost is 1/2 the price of a newer 3 axis system out there, my main question is .." Is there a 3 axis slider that incorporates both phone and its own remote ( not at the same time of course).. Thanx.
Confusing... a Dutch shop mentions it can handle 5kg payload, but... seems a translation error since the site says 5 lbs (2.5kg) Not sure this is the one for me... have a 1D-XmkII with F2.8 lenses... Thinking about the Edelkrone, more expensive, but... looks like it can handle more weight and some features in their app are really cool . Only thing I don't like about Edelkrone is their slider.. don't think it's a good idea to have one 'point' for a tripod :) At least I can get the Lynx in the Netherlands :) Also thought about the Syrp, since... the rope tech makes 'sliding' more flexible, since you can use anything on wheels , which I like. Only don't like their new pan/tilt version (and... it's sold out for a while now)... How does this Lynx compare to the iFootage Shark Slider ?
oki.. thinking about it... Not sure yet, the Syrp Genie II looks nice to, is a bit sleaker in design... but... seems they have production problems (and... nobody tested it yet). Still like their rope pulling system.. only problem I have with that is that I'm not sure it's that smooth... since rope has ofcourse tendency to stretch a bit...
Josh - have you ever used or played with the Rhino Arc as a comparison to this. Arc doesn't have the 3rd axis of motion but how often do you actually use that 3rd axis?
90% I use the third axis. I saw the Rhino at NAB and have seen a lot of test shots. All looks good except it is noisy and it does NOT have enough power to go up vertically!
iFootage Shark Slider($1400) vs Cinetics Lynx($2000) vs Camera Slider, GVM 48” ($400). Which one you would recommend? And which one tops with features?
The Lynx is so much more powerful and quieter! The battery also lasts longer and has a higher payload (much higher payload than the iFootage on vertical movements).
I gonna be honest with u I have never like it coz of its shape but after watching it video... I might go for it ... + points sound less motor that's a major one and all pan/ tilt and slide what else u need ... thanks for making the video
You don't have to sell so hard, though. I'm not replacing tons of crew - or looking to be replaced - by a piece of gear. Someone still has to set it up, so an efficiently-run set will still have the same staffing. It's job isn't so much to replace existing crew members, but to be able to do things you wouldn't otherwise be able to do.
Momentum Productions oh, absolutely! If it was truly between a robot and an operator, I agree fully, a robot is sometimes cheaper in the long run. But that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that the people who would use a slider in that setup - as I do often - wouldn't choose between a motorized slider and a second camera op. We add the slider as a way to give us more single-handed capability by adding motion to that second shot that previously was just locked off. If you did hire a second camera op instead of using a motorized slider, you'd get a different shot, not a slow, back and forth slider shot. I'm just saying it's a creative decision, and a motorized slider is a great addition for one-man-bands, but I've never said to myself, "hey, I was paying a second camera operator all this time, but now I'm going to fire him/her since I can get all those shots myself." No, but I did say, "Hey, these interview shoots I'm doing singlehandedly can look more interesting and be more engaging if I set up a motorized slider for my second shot instead of just locking down a mid shot." What I meant by efficiency is that if I'm setting up A cam, B cam, lights, set dressing, audio, and a slider-robot for B-cam, it's going to take allot more time than if there were two of us doing the setup. We don't always have the luxury of getting to take all that time. With that in mind, I'll often bring along a second pair of hands anyway, just to get through set and strike faster, depending on the scenario, and that person will be on B cam when we roll since they're there anyway. If it's a personal project or something super low budget where time isn't so important, I'll go it alone, and I often have, but that's always been a budget matter, never, "oh, I have a slider, so I'm not bringing in anyone else."
Hey thank you for making your vids. How many keyframes/targets are you able to program in? One of the things that I like in the Edelkrone app is the number of targetsthat they show on their demos. It appears with their gimbals the Zhiyun and Ronin s allow multiple targets as well, if only they integrated with or made a slider.
Edelkrone slider is better i just to be a cinetics costumer day have great products but costumer service not very good anymore , they dont awnser emails, and not phone number to contact insted they use google voice👎👎👎
That is pure BADASSNESS!! I gotta get one or make one. I made my slider and I've been very happy with it. This may be out of my league for a build!
Hey great videos!! 2 questions. 1) What caused the wobble @ 5:30? 2) What is the total weight with w/ 3 way head and slide motor attached?
Hmmm not sure about the wobble, it could possibly be from my IS. I think it weighs around 12 pounds total.
thanks. How tight did you have to make the cable to get it to go vertical? I don't want to over tighten it. Mine is slipping and then motor will freeze. It goes up better then down. Going down is pretty much unusable.
Mine is pretty tight. Strum the cable to see how tight it is. Make sure it isn't tight enough to start playing a note like on a guitar!
yeah mine is pretty tight as well. Using the Sony a7 III, 12-24 G on a Manfrotto 536 and N12 head. There shouldn't be a problem. May have to send video to Cinetics.

But it can only move when its perfectly leveled. The motor will stop even at a slight angle, let along a vertical move.
Dude, your video production has gone over the top! Very VERY professional and high quality bro. Keep on going my friend!!👍
I just subscribed to your channel , working to get my subs up also. Subscribe if you can , Thanks in advance.

Hey! is This slider still functional? Their app is down. I just need slider with high speed motor to shoot pics.
Unfortunately, the company is now out of business :(

Very good information :) Nice system. Yes more battery life I agree is critical

@@MomentumProductions1992 Thank you. Yes, I think 10 LB for, silent motor putts other sliders out of competition.
What tripod do you recommend for this slider?
I gonna be honest with u I have never like it coz of its shape but after watching it video... I might go for it ... + points sound less motor that's a major one and all pan/ tilt and slide what else u need ... thanks for making the video
Honestly, the form factor is great. It is a great piece of kit, you will not regret it :) Thank you for watching!
Momentum Productions thank you bro

I purchased one. Now how do you keep it from tipping over using a tripod?
Use 2 tripods
Brother it is very informative video.. need to know where we can buy it and what is the price..
Hey there! Please look in the description box for the link :-)
Momentum Productions thanks
Your videos are the best ❤️ Notification squad!!!
Hi Josh, have you tried the interview looping? Is the ramping at the ends smooth?
It's so smooth! I can make a demo of it if you like. :)
Momentum Productions Thanks Josh, I would be so grateful. Anyway we already pulled the trigger on one haha.

I would have to disagree. Using this slider was much more cost efficient for me, rather than having to hire an extra camera op.

Can you put a sony fs5 with lens?
Yup!

You can have as many keyframes as you want! :) Thank you for watching Scott!
Excellent! Thank you!
No, Thank YOU! :)
Pls make review of new Zhiyun smooth 4
Working on it! Will be out in 2 weeks :)
Momentum Productions yeah

This thing destroys the syrp genie ii before it's even available.

Check the edelkrone SliderPlus bro :)
I did! It’s not as powerful or as smooth as this one though!
has an awesome app to control everything... this one... does it have that? Controls here look 'old' , cumbersome
THE COSTUMER SERVICE DOES NOT EXIST. THE APP IS OUT OF BUSSINES, THEY DO NOT ANSWER THE CALLS.
Edelkrone slider is better i just to be a cinetics costumer day have great products but costumer service not very good anymore , they dont awnser emails, and not phone number to contact insted they use google voice👎👎👎
They were very good with my customer service. And comparing both, Cinetics outperforms Edlekrone by a lot. More powerful and quieter motors.
