What I really can't appreciate this game enough for, aside from the godly graphics, amazing-looking gameplay and the beautiful concept, is the plain russian humor, which, unfortunately, will very likely be lost in translation. Beside the "Помер" kill screen, which is essentially equivalent to Heavy's "You are ded" from TF2, there's the Plyush - which is Plush, like a toy, a strange name to give to a monster with tentacles coming from its entire body but entirely a russian thing to do. There's a whole tradition in the real-life russian army to give weapons funny names, and that tradition is reflected here as well, with the blades of the circular saw on the melee weapon being labelled "ЦП Звездочка" - CS (Circular Saw) "Starlet", and (shown in the other trailers) the handgun named ABSATZ - which is the russian word "Абзац" meaning "paragraph", but can be used in humorous slang in an expression such as "полный абзатц", which is a way to say "we're fucked" without actually cursing. I can't wait for the full game's release or at least more trailers to see more of what they can come up with!
I think Plyush is supposed to be a russian word "Плющ", which means "Ivy". And for a monster made of tentacles to be named after a plant that is mostly vines, it kind of makes more sense to me.
@@tsarbutterfly663 "Помер" basically means "died" in ukrainian, russian synonym is "умер", we (russians) also use "помер" but in more comical way, it sounds kinda funny for us. This game has a great sense of style, I love its retro-futuristic look. Was happy to see Russian being used too. Will play in Russian if I can move the subtitles around as I please or if there are some options on placement. I want them close to the cross-hair so I don't have to look in my periphery while engrossed in the action. But yeah, more games need to adopt other languages than English (if it makes sense) in their game worlds because it adds so much to the general feeling of the setting. Good stuff!
I am from Russia and I liked your comment. Yes, there is such that in most of the existing games there is English voice acting and nothing more. In fact, here's what you can tell about the Russians, if, of course, they transfer the idea to the game itself: 1) If the main character is a Russian, then we are mostly straightforward in the matter, we have no need to hide our feelings if this is not required of us; 2) Our trust in others is different from Americans. We just don't call everyone we meet "friend" or, so to speak, as if we have known each other for a long time from the first meeting, but this is not at all true; 3) Not all people in Russia are savages (gopniks, not educated, and so on), of course there is a small part, but not "all." Therefore, even if the main character is silent, it will not mean that he is dumb. He can simply listen calmly to a person and remember his sentence, thought. P.S. I made this comment in google translator. Yes, I'm a little lazy and sometimes I don't speak English well.

@@Hedmanification Tell me what game is similar to atomic heart enough to make it “unoriginal.” And don’t say Stalker, Metro, or Escape from Tarkov because just because a game takes place in Russia doesn’t mean it’s unoriginal. The AI is not unresponsive at all. In the earlier demo, the humanoid robots staggered when hit, and performed different attacks based on where the player was. In this demo the “plyush” creature dodges the player when he tries to wind up a swing, and blocks when it thinks the player is going to attack. Overall atomic heart is looking completely unique and staggeringly cool

Ha! I literally just beat Prey today and thought the same thing! We really need more games like Bioshock and Prey, and this seems to be among one of them!
@Karm G Yeah I can definitely see how that would happen. I remember as a kid I had to refund one of the Ratchet and Clank games because they had you enter a dream sequence with a fish-eye effect overlayed on top and that really messed with me. The sudden change in perspective in the no gravity parts of Prey are mind-jarring, but it helps if you orient yourself to a "ground" instead of looking at everything at an awkward angle. Personally I really enjoyed the zero-g parts, I felt they were done superbly and were extremely fluid (though I've never played space game before to compare) despite the fact you don't spend much time in space other than the few instances they force you to and in the G.U.T.S.
LordSerion I love the Metro series and I would totally do that but I keep the English with Russian accents just so I can laugh at how bad it is sometimes.
I am in love with this game. The abstract vibe of it is terrifyingly beautiful. Instead of seeing a monster and instinctively running/fighting it (like other games), your imagination will instead take hold and make whatever noise/thing you saw in the corner of your vision 50x more terrifying because there is nothing else to relate it to. A completely original idea and it's so refreshing!
It also has some keen sense for the uncanny valley, many of the automatons resemble humans but not quite so our ape brains go haywire and panic because how can something look so much like us yet so off in its appearance at the same time

@Ring-a-ding-ding baby I already stated why this wouldn't work but to reiterate, this is an interactive medium so stopping during a heated fight or simply exploring the environment can get pretty tiresome if you have to stop to read dialogue. I get it for stuff in the environment such as environmental art, placards and posters but for main plot related speech (especially if its happening in game and not in cut-scenes) needs to be easily digestible and not slow down the momentum. for movies it works because you don't have to be more involved that simply spectating. (side note - most of the rest of the world already knows english as multi linguistics are a requirement in those countries' education systems. just saying)
@Ring-a-ding-ding baby I assure you, that is a stereotype. Most people outside of the states just think the south is the states when in reality American is pretty diverse and media-rich.
Pasta Giovanni Yup, I play games with good mechanics fuck all the rest (story, graphics, etc). I often download mods that rebalance and makes games harder also.
This looks like a substantial improvement to the camera's movement during combat, compared to earlier trailers. Before, the camera would snap around like the player character couldn't control their head, and it was disorienting. You couldn't track where the enemy was on screen because of it, and it was causing motion sickness. But now, the camera seems much more stable, even with effects like headbobbing, screen shake, and motion blur. I didn't feel disoriented watching this, and had no trouble tracking enemies. The fact that I can tell something as critical as that has improved, makes me feel more confident that development is going well. I saw lots of interesting things in this trailer, excited to see where it goes next, Mundfish! Edit: Spelling mistake, lol.

I’m just hoping enemies have that dynamic flare like how f.e.a.r had AI interest with environments in their environment Since this is possibly much more large scale just looking for enemies to throw themselves through window, etc For me , I can’t tell if the boss is just attacking and accidentally hits something or not, so I would say take this comment with a grain of salt

Good I hope he wont get screwed over like Bethesda did
What I really can't appreciate this game enough for, aside from the godly graphics, amazing-looking gameplay and the beautiful concept, is the plain russian humor, which, unfortunately, will very likely be lost in translation.
I thought the word "Plyush" looked a little too much like "Plush" to be coincidental lmao.
Learning Russian slang from this game would be the cherry on top for me.
As a native russian speaker I can confirm everything that you have said here. Very good explanation!
I think Plyush is supposed to be a russian word "Плющ", which means "Ivy". And for a monster made of tentacles to be named after a plant that is mostly vines, it kind of makes more sense to me.

Good stuff!
The game is made by russians :)

The animation on the enemies and especially the player's melee weapon; I was blown away when he stepped on the blades and proceeded to somehow transform the weapon from melee to ranged. I can't explain what exactly happened, but that doesn't matter. I am greatly looking forward to this, no matter how long it takes! Whatever you guys do, don't rush!
You would love bloodborne
It is supposed to combine its powers with weapons. I think he channels his power through the glove or the glove gives him some kind of power.
@@noshua2326 I actually have played Bloodborne quite a few times, and indeed you are correct; it is incredible!
From the looks of it he doesn't step on the blades but kicks a lever which makes the blades spin faster.
@@WoyaThePug i played bloodborne over550 hours++ and in NG65 ++ 65 TIMES FINSHED IT still dark souls1 is better
This game is a must buy for me. The gameplay, artwork and music is very unique and done with sincere efforts. I love how there is an aura of mystery as you pace around. I wish this game greatest success and an opening of a very lucrative franchise. Proud to have this game coming from my homeland.

What happened with Bethesda ?

Kinda ironic.

As an American, I'd play this game with subtitles.
Добро пожаловать, Комрад, всю жизнь так играл)
Zoot Zoot
@Ring-a-ding-ding baby All movies should be watched with subtitles. And you shouldn't watch american movies only in general
Finally, game footage where the main character isn’t bossing everyone. This looks more realistic. Just hope it comes with English subtitles
That's the main thing I liked as well. I am a gameplay man, I want a good challenge.

Dude had a whole futuristic subatomic blaster the whole time and didn’t even use it. Btw the visuals look stunning!
That seems to be a common thing across the trailers. Only once was a gun actually used and it wasn't used for long.
@Null youd think they would at least demonstrate guns a little more though.
I think that was some sort of railgun, and yes it look cool as fuck
@Null pretty sure that video was outed as being CGI and not actual gameplay.
You need to experience it for yourself
so we’re not gonna talk about how after months of silence, they come back with this and casually just go “oh yeah mick gordon is here btw”
Not months of silence. They actually release stuff on their Reddit and Facebook page.

You can tell its real gameplay and early footage when the the fps drops to the single digits
Edit: Spelling mistake, lol.
looks almost like dying light movement, i like it. looks like it will play well if it is similar
@@formatme I think that's an apt comparison, I was racking my brain trying to figure out what it now resembled.
@@formatme Now that you mention it - yes, you're right! I wondered why it felt familiar. I love Dying Light, no wonder this video felt so good from the gameplay perspective.
I think eatlier demos were just that, early demos to show people the game for publicity. Now that they polished the game, it looks way better. They took the criticism to heart.
I’m just hoping enemies have that dynamic flare like how f.e.a.r had AI interest with environments in their environment
Since this is possibly much more large scale just looking for enemies to throw themselves through window, etc
For me , I can’t tell if the boss is just attacking and accidentally hits something or not, so I would say take this comment with a grain of salt
5:39 i love the music changes when he use his ability
Well mick does love his stems
It sounds like quantum break. Fucking awesome. Sound was one of the best game part
Adaptive soundtrack lets go!
Looks really nice and the scenery is simply to die for! I also tend to find myself anxious and intrigued with the music. Everything looks great if you're trying to make players stay on high alert and on edge.
Well the music apparently was made by Mick Gordon, if you played Prey (2017) then you know how well that works in a immersive fps
This looks like a Russian SCP, Soviet, Contain, Protect
Funfax: in the SCP-verse, the Russians had a program known as GRU Division-"P" and this is pretty much that :D
@@Cow-Moth-With-A-CRT-Head yeah that statement sold me on this game. I loved control because it felt like an SCP game (given an over simplified one but that's understandable) and I love the idea of this being like the GRU Divison-p the video game.
It's more akin to Russian Fallout
L0ST S0UL Or Bioshock/System Shock
SCP 001 - Vladimir Lenin
The combat seems difficult. Quick strike, charge strike, move away, dodge, approach and hit... That's the melee combat that I like!
Reminds me of Dying light.
@@rageinducer2455 to me it looks exactly like dying light which is a very good thing
@@davidgabriel5125 Agreed on that.
The whole gameplay of Blade of Darkness, Dark Souls, Monster Hunter, etc. Nothing new, but I too like a challenge.
