Hi. I have a ton of codes coming up, maybe 6 or so, on my 2005 Odyssey. Mechanic indicated that there may be, either a timing belt replacement needed or the coolant temperature sensor is bad and putting on premature codes because of over heating. He also said the codes are showing missfiring. Any thoughts?
@@MrRangerZr1 Unfortunately, the 5 codes are no longer available to me. However, I did just find my answer, today. An animal ate through the temperature sensor wires. The mechanic replaced the wire and reset the codes and now they stay off. Thanks for replying.

I am getting P301..P306 and P300 (on my 2005 Ody) once in a while but doesn't stay after I clear them. Based on what I have learnt on the net it has to do with the VCM. I am thinking of deactivating the VCM and would like to pick your brain on this subject. I think temperature (~174 C) read from ECT1 determines whether VCM is possible or not. I want to understand what else is ECT1 used for (before I rig up something to deactivate VCM) ?

Most likely radiator. Don't think it's the heater core. Very rarely on the V6, the headgasket can fail but again very rare. You really have to be an idiot (like keep on driving it when the temp reads over H) to blow the V6 headgasket lol
