Good review. I was able to pick up the 32g mem with the 4080 version on sale at B&H for $1899, think they are $1999 now. I love it, great laptop, especially at that price.

Thank you. I purchased one of those at a bargain, just a few weeks ago. I have no statistics, but if there is aby future for the PC Gaming industry, I think it lies with laptop gaming. Yes, your standard home built desktop will always be ahead and more upgradeable, but not exactly very much cheaper. A desktop RTX 4090 card is still at $2000 which isn't too far from a complete gaming laptop like this. No you cannot compare with the top performance, but the laptop version actually trades blows with last gen. 3090, and add to that what you get in total, plus the neatness and portability. It is my prediction that traditional desktop builds will become a more niche market, trading blows with consoles, while gaming laptops will increase the market share, just for what they are. There have been huge advances since the bulky DTR days, and while a Gaming laptop isn't exactly slim as a Macbook, it is just one generation behind the desktop counterpart, and these days they even look and feel slim and neat enough.
I just scored a new in box 4090 model on Facebook marketplace for 2275 usd. Could not be more happy this thing is a beast. Shame it does not have the mini led panel though.

If you still find in the shop then it was Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16ACH6H. That rtx is on 130W. I have it for 3 years. Starfield can play between 30-70 FPS in 2K - ultra + AMD FSR3 (shadows high)

This machine with 4090 performs in game 5% above desktop 3090Ti, actually between desktop 4070Ti and desktop 4080 (5% to 15% slower than 4080 desktop, depending on the game).
Where did you get this information? I find it very unlikely that it performs better than an RTX 3090 Ti desktop. I would be happy to be proven wrong though.

I believe this doesnt have any Windows Hello whatsoever. Last year they had a fingerprint scanner but with this year they got rid of it as they wanted to compete with all the other makers. Still it's 2023 so there should be at least something for this price.

I thought about that myself but Mac has so much crap to get outside of the laptop and the music production software I use doesn’t work with Mac so. I like USB stuff and always hated having to get adapters to use them which Mac forces me to do let alone all their apps I have to download. Mac is good for painting and artists, though.
B&H has it for $2500 now. I wish instead of Legion Pro 9 I had bought the 7 for $1500 less money. The Legion Pro 9 has faulty MediaTek network card and it has died after two days of use. What a waste of time and money. It will be returned soon!
According to their website this can only have 32 gigs of RAM and up to two 1tb M.2 drives. Are you sure it can handle 64 gigs of RAM and do you know how big of hard drives it can handle? @@bozicsreten Ha, I mean, it's definitely blazing fast. I do a lot of photography and just recently started tinkering in video. The computer is quite fast itself that I don't know that the extra RAM is necessary depending on your purposes. So if you're using it just to game or something like that I bet it would be plenty fine. If you do some heavy video work or designing you may want it. I have been really really impressed with it.

Correction that is the legion pro 7i not the pro 7, the I in 7i means Intel. Without that i as in how you were saying “Legion pro 7” you’d be referring to the model with the AMD 7945hx. You should prob do a bit more research cuz that’s a pro 7i not pro 7.

It's great abs highly recommended. The RTX4080 is a lot cheaper and almost as powerful on games. Go for that. A great keyboard & screen for your coding & productivity work too!
I have similar requirements. I just discovered the 32 GB ram is a hard limit, not upgradable. What other laptops are you looking at? My main requirement? A damn numpad! It is a rarity nowadays!

I don’t know what you are talking about build quality. Lenovo skimped out compared to the last generation. The keyboard flex by the WASD is terrible, the plastic feels cheap… I doubt you own or have used the previous generation.
Serious question. Because you mentioned keyboard flex. I use computers for about 40 years now. Keyboard flex was never an issue about the longevity and responsiveness of any keyboard I have ever used. Why do you, as many others, mention flexing of a keyboard (laptop or not) as something important?

This is the first time I watch your videos, so I don't know you at all. Not sure if it was sarcasm or not, but do you honestly believe that 97C is a normal temperature for a brand new laptop. That's like a couple of months away from reaching 100C. 97C is not normal. Hell, even not after a few months, what if it is a hot day? No. Terrible. I agree about the GPU temps, they are really good for the system. But the CPU...No, just not acceptable. As for the A.I., it sounds completely like a gimmick, but still if it doesn't have the option to switch off, good enough reason for me to never consider buying it. If it wasn't already for the CPU temps. Or my complete lack of money. Thanks for the video.
This is a weird review for a laptop since it did not discuss one of the most important features in a laptop: Battery Life. How the hell do you honestly review a laptop and expect to be taken seriously without addressing how the thing fares in various settings and what sort of hourage a prospective buyer can expect out of the box? Very bizarre.
To be fair, it's going to vary widely depending on how you use it. Lots of reviews on this laptop out there. Jharods tech is really thorough and I think he has hard numbers for battery life.

He said both slots came full with a 16+16. So if you want to upgrade to 64 you need to replace both slots to a 32+32
