I sure wasn't a fan of Ripper Owens when he was with Judas Priest (I go WAY back with Judas Priest), but I gotta admit that I've changed my opinion of Ripper 180°. The man is just an incredibly talented singer. I can't wait for him to get out on tour with K.K.'s Priest. It's going to be awesome!
Fuckin ripper, you are the man..great job. I put the old fashioned headphones on in the dark , full blast , with my eyes closed, and rocked my ASS OFF.
I agree! Sorry but I've never heard of him until now. Tony Iommi should get the band 'Heaven and Hell" going again if Sabbath quits for good. I would like to see and hear this Tim Owens sing with them---- Neon Knights and Children of the Sea would sound amazing with him singing. Cheers
Aldrich and Ripper, what a team. Doug is so awesome on guitar in every aspect and one of my top favorite players. His tone always smokes, he's a true pro. His stage presence even kicks ass. Doug, a Les Paul and a Marshall. Any questions?
I never realized, until I watched this, how much more like Dio he sounds than he ever sounded like Halford. Great nonetheless. It's hard to believe it's been 20 years since he joined Priest. Scary how time flies. And I LOVE Doug's tone. Like a metal monster!
Glad to see Brian Tichy finally playing a true double-kick kit. He sounds great. The whole group did. I am and always have been a long-time Dio fanatic (met him once years ago just awesome). Ripper Owens does a great job on this Black Sabbath/Heaven & Hell classic. Doug Aldrich did both Tony Iommi and Dr. Jim Marshall proud, too. (Love it if Ripper would pick up the torch that was sadly dropped when we lost Ronnie Jame Dio.)
After hearing this, I am convinced that if Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler plan on doing anything after Black Sabbath's final tour, they should resurrect Heaven & Hell with Vinny Appice and get Ripper on vocals. He does such a spot-on job of imitating Ronnie James Dio's vocal inflections. He would do major justice to those RJD-era Sabbath songs.
+6672rock Ripper made an impact on Priest. But Ronnie.. Nobody can go even close:Ever. Still hats off to ripper singin Desert Plains on the "soundcheck"
Wow! Tim is a Beast, I love his voice, he is truly talented.. being from Cleveland ohio I wish I could meet him..I know people say he's not Halford and your right he is not but he is (in my eyes) just as Awesome!
***** I've been Anti-Aldrich so far probably because I hated his work in Whitesnake. This time I'm obviously wrong: Doug plays a really mean axe. Pie-hot! Cheers. Jerry
Wow, I think I am starting to like this guy , THE RIPPER! Awesome job doing vocals for Halford, now hearing this with Doug Aldrich... Ripper is here to stay! Hellyeah VLAD!
For those who don’t know this is what ripper does, goes, sings his ass off, leaves people saying what a voice and moves on to next project, no matter who performs with he ABSOLUTELY KILLS IT. Most underrated vocalist alive
xiaochicash yeah, but alot of us WANT to see a guitar player put HIS mark on it too. Cool that he plays it exact, that may have been what Ronnie wanted, but when I see a guy do someone elses songs I want to see how THEY add to it. Anyone can copy. I am not saying anything about aldrich as I think he is awesome and has never got his due
Jay Bing Agreed, although that was my very first time seeing DIO live, for a year and a half before that I was listening to his old records religiously, so every subtle nuance was etched into my brain. Hah, I even mimicked the old concert photo on the inside flap by drawing up a banner which I brought to the show. It featured the Dio logo and claws 'ripping' through the middle as it gave 'the goat' RJD himself looked me dead in the eye and grinned when he saw it. Anyway, sorry for gushing. It was cool that everything was album perfect that night.
Amazing..Ripper Owens is clearly an aging, Middle America, balding American but the British rock gods love him and he has the most amazing voice..Yes he'd be perfect for a reformed Dio Era Sabbath or he could step in for Rob when he retires from Priest
AMEN TO THAT. MISS HIS VOICE ANY NEW MATERIAL HE POSSIBLY WOULD HAVE CAME UP WITH HEAVEN N HELL( GEEZER, TONY N VINNIE APPICE) BUT HIS LOYALTY TO HIS FANS!!! R.I.P R.J.D!!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏✌✌
I remember being a kid here in Seattle - learning Sweet Leaf, Faries Wear Boots, Iron Man, Into The Void, etc, (on my mom's nylon string guitar). Mainly songs from the first two LPs - this was in '76, '77. Then I saw the Blue Oyster Cult / Black Sabbath Tour here in Seattle at the Seattle Center Memorial Stadium and I was floored, blown away. This doesn't relate to Marshall as Tony used Laney Amplification... However, RIP Dr. Jim Marshall.
Wow, Tim sounds really good. I saw him live with Yngwie a few years ago and I couldn't hear him at all. His mic was turned way down...or maybe it was just that Yngwie had plugged into 4 huge Marshall stacks in a 500 capacity theater.
One fun day. I art directed/production designed (all of that background BS) with Tim in the Iced Earth's, "When The Eagle Cries" video, years after singing lead background vocals on two of Doug's LION LP's, in the mid-late eighties. Funny as hell how incestuous this music world is. :)
Doug Aldrich is a pure Guitarslinger
man, Ripper Owens is so underrated. He's a fucking beast!
How is he underrated? he's widely regarded as a brilliant singer.
I was there that night! Freakin awesome! Tichy, Ripper, Doug, Kerry King, Zak Wylde, Glenn Hughes, lifted the roof off Wembley Arena!!!
Damn, it's like he can turn his voice anywhere he wants it to go. Awesome.
Damn....Ripper absolutely nails this. Fantastic!
Ripper is killing it amazing. Doug Aldrich has always been one of my favorites.
I sure wasn't a fan of Ripper Owens when he was with Judas Priest (I go WAY back with Judas Priest), but I gotta admit that I've changed my opinion of Ripper 180°. The man is just an incredibly talented singer.

Fuckin ripper, you are the man..great job. I put the old fashioned headphones on in the dark , full blast , with my eyes closed, and rocked my ASS OFF.
Ripper is undoubtedly the most powerful vocalist I've ever seen live. Too bad your Priest job was so short lived.
Ripper vocals are freakin epic.
I agree! Sorry but I've never heard of him until now. Tony Iommi should get the band 'Heaven and Hell" going again if Sabbath quits for good. I would like to see and hear this Tim Owens sing with them---- Neon Knights and Children of the Sea would sound amazing with him singing. Cheers
flashy5150 ...have you heard Jorn Lande singing with Heaven and Hell...if you shut your eyes you would think it is Dio singing

Clayton Browne Wow ! I didn't even realize that Heaven And Hell were still performing without Dio -- I guess I better get with the program lol.
The second verse where Doug rings along...pure finesse!
Not many people alive could nail this song, but Ripper does!!
jesus..ive been fan of ripper for such a long time but never heard off him singing Sabbath..he is done a great job for sure .
Aldrich and Ripper, what a team. Doug is so awesome on guitar in every aspect and one of my top favorite players. His tone always smokes, he's a true pro. His stage presence even kicks ass. Doug, a Les Paul and a Marshall. Any questions?

And I LOVE Doug's tone. Like a metal monster!
The best cover I ever heard from Heaven and Hell... the master Ronnie James Dio would be proud!
Tim kicked Eric Adams ass!
Glad to see Brian Tichy finally playing a true double-kick kit. He sounds great. The whole group did. I am and always have been a long-time Dio fanatic (met him once years ago just awesome). toddvandell85 I see Tich play in alot of different bands he is good.
Man The Vocals Nailed it !!!!

+6672rock Ripper made an impact on Priest. But Ronnie.. Nobody can go even close:Ever. Still hats off to ripper singin Desert Plains on the "soundcheck"
+6672rock only that he has trim down, otherwise it will be another Meatloaf concert..
owens was born 25 years after dio, and sings like a total motherfucker already. dio has nothing on him. ripper destroys him anyday now.
So easy to destroy a dead man: And I live Ripper: You are so obvious
Ripper F’n Owens, my god, this guy is amazing!🤘🏼👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Aldrich owns the stage here !!!
Doug Aldrich what a classic shredder....... love all the stuff he did with Kal Swan back in the day
Doug Aldrich is just the coolest.....Pure Gunslinger
Wow! Tim is a Beast, I love his voice, he is truly talented.. being from Cleveland ohio I wish I could meet him..I know people say he's not Halford and your right he is not but he is (in my eyes) just as Awesome!
Ripper can sing so many different vocal masters songs...Dio, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest....
Ripper has always slayed. EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
True fans of the mighty Sabbath..............well done!
Mr Tim is cosmos gifted and deep soul personality, you can hear it in power of every note and his devoted faithfull attitude.
Nicko is wonderful!
Doug plays guitar from his soul...mesmerizing to watch! Ripper does a great job as well.
+Kim Scarano To be honest: I didn't expect Doug to play that so well...
He played with Dio for many years, and he was incredible live! He's vastly underrated.
*****
I've been Anti-Aldrich so far probably because I hated his work in Whitesnake. This time I'm obviously wrong: Doug plays a really mean axe. Pie-hot! Cheers. Jerry
@@jerryonspeed How is even possible be an anti aldrich. He is cleary on of the best guitarplayer that Whitesnake had.
Have you guys heard Ripper sing Flight of Icarus? He absolutely nails it!! He's got some pipes on him man!
kazutite its with Doug Aldrich as well.
GOD Bless You 🎸🎸🎸
What's Ripper even doing these days? He just fell off the map and became the eternal stand-in singer in like a million bands.
I think Ripper is closer to Dio than he ever was to Halford.
+Jurgen Cuypers ----- u right !!!__________________
agree!
absolutely
Makes total sense since Wendy Dio was his manager.
He did great Job on both.
tony iommi and geezer and vinny should revive heaven and hell with ripper on vocals.
+abi obando good ideah, never thought of that
+BAJARACER43X Yeah. Ripper nails it. And I worship RJD. Ripper might be the only guy that could replace god.
Can you imagine Tim Owens replacing Rob Halford, Matt Barlow and Dio? Would be awesome.
Ripper DID replace Rob Hallford !!
And he did it well. not this time
Wow, I think I am starting to like this guy , THE RIPPER!
Doug Aldrich was fantastic in DIO, saw him live in Reno back in 2002. He nailed Rainbow in the dark. It sounded exactly like the album.
xiaochicash yeah, but alot of us WANT to see a guitar player put HIS mark on it too. Cool that he plays it exact, that may have been what Ronnie wanted, but when I see a guy do someone elses songs I want to see how THEY add to it. Anyone can copy. you can hear the respect in those guys's playing and singing, this sounds so so close to the real thing!
This is the first time I listen to this song PROPERLY executed....PROPERLY !!!
Doug Aldrich es la caña!
Loved the arrangements Doug did.!
This gives me fucking goose bumps!!! Period.
Holy crap, that was amazing! I'm surprised this video has so few views, likes, and comments.
thanks for the upload!
Amazing..Ripper Owens is clearly an aging, Middle America, balding American but the British rock gods love him and he has the most amazing voice..Yes he'd be perfect for a reformed Dio Era Sabbath or he could step in for Rob when he retires from Priest
Ripper is awsome
Ripper always gives me the goosbumps the dude just fuckin rips it up! \m/
That was probably the best cover ever.

Ripper is truly a Ripper! 🤘🤘🤘
Ahhh Nicko, ribs, jaguars and drums. my favorite things too.

i liket, remember DIO a great singer
that gave me goose bumps!! R.I.P Ronnie
This song is so sad without the great Ronnie James Dio.
RIP Dio. We will never forget you!
AMEN TO THAT. MISS HIS VOICE ANY NEW MATERIAL HE POSSIBLY WOULD HAVE CAME UP WITH HEAVEN N HELL( GEEZER, TONY N VINNIE APPICE) BUT HIS LOYALTY TO HIS FANS!!! R.I.P R.J.D!!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏✌✌
Ripper is such a great singer, his range is awesome and as a singer myself this is a tough song.
This RULES!

Ripper! Akron, Ohio!
Doug he's amazing but the Toni Iommi Guitar sounds unique !!!
erika Pimenta I think so
+erika Pimenta When talking about guitar monsters like these each-one is unique and fantastic in their own way of playing
I feel like the same guy is singing, playing drums, and playing rhythm guitar in different outfits
Doug is a great guitarist
Ashamed to say I have not really heard much of Rippers stuff but be he fuckin nails this! Anyone recommend any albums with him on?
Amazing, historical night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember being a kid here in Seattle - learning Sweet Leaf, Faries Wear Boots, Iron Man, Into The Void, etc, (on my mom's nylon string guitar). The most cool song since it was put out.
Wow, Tim sounds really good. I saw him live with Yngwie a few years ago and I couldn't hear him at all. His mic was turned way down...or maybe it was just that Yngwie had plugged into 4 huge Marshall stacks in a 500 capacity theater.
No one can replace.... our Ronnie James x.
👏👏🎸🎶🎵🎼🥁🎤🤘🤘
Doug is awesome, always thought so. but my father always told me not to overplay for a reason. he is a great great guitarist and ripper was fantastic
Is there any official DVD of the Marshall: 50 Years of Loud?
Amazing!!! Too beautiful....Ripper is vocal beast!!
What a voice ! Awesome - You dont hear that on XFactor!
All star cast here....thats a overnight success if they wanted....
Ripper owns this song!
That whole band was fuckin awesome
Doug Aldrich, John Sykes Little Brother!
Doug Aldrich é muito fera 😎💯👿
The band Geeks cover of this is awesome with the Girl on Vocals.
100%
Doug aldrich🔥
Brian Titchy. He was fantastic!
oh my this guy can talk!!
This piece is very difficult to sing! He did a great job!
tony martin did that song when he was with sabbath as well, hes a great singer...
Holy Fuck! That was awesome.....
SIMPLESMENTE,"DEMAIS".
Ripper does sound very close to RJD. I like the band Last In Line as well, too bad Jimmy Bain passed away as he's an underappreciated song writer.
One fun day. I art directed/production designed (all of that background BS) with Tim in the Iced Earth's, "When The Eagle Cries" video, years after singing lead background vocals on two of Doug's LION LP's, in the mid-late eighties. Funny as hell how incestuous this music world is. :)
DA has awesome tone ! And he's a handsome devil lol
RULES!
that's rad
Heaven and Hell! The guitar player is very good! I like Tim Ripper too! He did a very nice job on 'red devil' with Yngwie too.
🤘🤘
String Dougy Doug :)
have they or will they release this on video?
