I was born on 11/13 and I also think this is an early birthday gift for me as well. Even though yesterday my Mom got me a Christmas perrito blanket. She's sweet :)
Words can’t really describe how beautiful is tal’s games It gives me a weird feeling of joy, only ronaldinho did that for me in football Happy birthday to the greatest chess player to ever live.
This is the type of content that hooked me up in chess and agadmator's chess channel. I hope you come up with more like previous years and yeah truly an evergreen magician .
Tal's playing style wasn't always technically sound, but I think he knew that. He played in a way that his opponents feared, aggressive and relentless attacking. He very much played the person in front of him and made him crack nearly every time. In many games escape was possible but amazingly difficult to find. Modern GM's can take a lesson in his ways, always trying to play the perfect engine move and never taking risks.
The thing is that, computational chess have advanced chess games to a whole new different level compared to the days Tal played, and the overly aggressive style that Tal uses won't work today as shown by Magnus when he's maturing from his attacking style when he was young Don't get me wrong, Tal's games are still so enjoyable to watch. Just want to point out that his style won't work against modern day Super GMs
"There are two types of sacrifices: correct ones, and mine." So yeah, he did know it. But he was a master at complicating the position so much that his opponents would hesitate to go for the sharpest continuations, at which point he just went all out.
Wow, 3years on this channel for me. Thank you Agadmator for accompanying me for years through my up and down. You also ignited my interest on chess again after I left it after my high school years. You also opened the chess world for me. I didn't know chess was so awesome and interesting. Thank you again. Thank you so much
Agadmator is and always will be pure class. Greatest chess channel on UA-cam IMO. Thanks Antonio for all the work you’ve been putting to build this channel, truly spent many hours hearing you analyze different games from different eras with your characteristic eloquence and charm. Wish you all the best, greetings from Tijuana 🇲🇽♟
@@equal7958 Perhaps. But Antonio started making videos almost 5 years back. And chess has gained popularity in the pandemic. Agadmator is on UA-cam since the chess fanbase was incredibly small.
Mikhail Tal was colourful on and off the board. he was once kissed by Miguel Najdorf for one of his moves . 😁 . One of his quotes always stuck with me “Quiet moves often make a stronger impression than a wild combination with heavy sacrifices.” Also , Vishy Anand and Tal played only one game when Tal health was in serious decline and he passed away a short while later . One of the few chess players to have a positive score against Fischer .
Tbh I dont like the Tal-Anand game, I am huge fan of both, but Misha playing the English and not sacrificing anything, it was not in the spirit of the Magician of Riga
@@anirbanghosh1217 Okay, seriously? Just give him a break. Look at every other game he was brilliant in, instead of being whiny about the one time he couldn't play to anywhere near his prime level.
You my friend have come such a long way since you started this channel. It's been an honour and a priviledge to follow this journey. May it continue on for a long time to come!
My first chess video on UA-cam is your Anand’s immortal and in that video you mentioned Tal and I thought he must be some legendary player and watched all of your videos on Tal… So yeah, Tal is the sole protector of your channel who didn’t let me leave your channel.😁
I got into chess back in 2017 due to Antonio's videos on Tal and his "Tal moves"! Still some of the craziest chess content out there :) The chess boom in the past few years has been so exciting Hope you keep on making these Tal videos on every birthdays of his Maybe even on Bitvinnik's birthday once in a while. That would be the ultimate Tal move! 🤣
Matter of opinion...50 years old Botvinnik beat him in 1961 and he never challenged a champion for the title for his entire life. Greatest player ever lived??? Bullshit...

Tal is just such an amazing player to watch. And with Agad analysing the positions some of the intricate planning is revealed. A great privilege to grapple with such games, thanks.
You are really classy commentator and choices of your themes are peculiar! You are not obsessed with yourself, you are not erratic, you made huge collection of chess games like no one! You are true champion of the chess commenting! Honestly, you are the best in this business for average people like myself and million others!
I'm sure this channel would run with all its glamour for at least next 15 years. Want a complete remake of the 1960 Championship against Botvinnik, as a celebration of the century of our Beloved Pirate.
Tal makes two pawn moves in a row. Sacrificing the first one and not even threatening or protecting anything with the second. Yet he still maintains initiative after those two moves somehow. He also uses his knight like its the most powerful piece on the board. What a difficult opponent he must have been.
The way he despatched Flesch's pieces makes me think this should have been a Halloween video rather than a birthday one, with Tal in a hockey mask and carrying a chainsaw.
I remember Tal playing in the late 1980ies/1990ies in Germany and participating in small local tournaments. Tal was a legend at that time of course and when my buddy ended up playing with him in an early round we were both truly excited.
Janos died in a car accident 2 years after this game at the young age 50.... he was an amazing blind chess player, capable of playing 20+ games at once.. he actually held the title with 52 games but he was able to ask for moves to be recalled. so it didnt stand. he became an IM in 1963 and the honorary GM title in 80' due to a life long contribution to chess..... so, Levy and Eric Rosen still have a chance at that GM title!!
Dear Antonio, I fell in love with you few years ago with the Tal saga. I hope there will be always a Tal game to show us. Thanks for sharing your passion to chess.
