Great cast! Awesome match too what a unique build order that we got to see. Coh3 is at a great spot when players can experiment with builds like this and still win. The variety is what makes this game great

About snares: they worked like in CoH2 only for the first week of 1.6, it was unintentional and was brought back to CoH3 style with the first hotfix, so a unit that gets out of range before snare animation is finished will be safe. However with 1.6 after the hotfix, snares are still stronger than before because the throw animation is faster, so there's less time to escape, which makes it closer to CoH2, while still not the same.

Joking aside, this is reminiscent to the classic COH1 4ES opener.
The only difference is that the Engies are tougher, even w/o the Assault Engie ability (not to mention the sheer lethality of flamethrowers), you have more options aside from snipers, you have an AT unit (Zooks) against light vehicles without requiring a costly tech-up (SUCK IT UP NAYSAYERS WHO THINK ZOOKS ARE USELESS!!!), and you CAN actually hold your ground to go straight for the Tank Depot.
It's still micro-intensive as its predecessor, but it's still a viable non-meta build if you pull it off.
oh man, a call back to CoH1... i'll admit i never played that at a high enough level to even realize there was a meta :D
assault engies are super cost effective vs dak pgrens, who struggle to bleed them before they come close, despite the price difference

nothing he played with was op. it was a good build, thats how the usf can win vs the superior units of DAK
I think 4 ass engies was the first unorthodox strat for usf, just after the release.
