- This was the 4v4 from today's first day of the Resurgence Cup it's been amazing so far! The 4v4 in particular was spectacular, dumb, and destructive - perfect! The players here are on their last life, and are fighting for survival, can they make it back to the upper bracket and make it through team game hell?

I do think this is a neat way of doing things, I'm sure it ain't perfect but if it accelerates people into a losers bracket I don't think it's very unfair.
Gotta take risks to keep the scene fresh and novel; not perfect but damn best AE et al can do to make it entertaining..
@@audiosurfarchive I will say that none of the players seemed to like the format very much, least of all Elpern who was whining quite a bit on stream. It's a loser's bracket so in my opinion you can't really complain *too* much if you already lost against your seeded opponent. I don't think team games are inherently fair but I think as a losers bracket it's tough to argue it's unfair--lowers your chances at a second shot against an opponent sure, takes it away unfairly though? Wouldn't say so.

just watched all 3 games, allies dominated all 3 there was no competition

Well the fact that allies won 3 out of 3 games, no matter which team played them, tells a lot about how "balanced" the game is.

Yeah for some reason these 1v1 players have no idea how to axis 4v4. The recent balancing that has reduced axis crutches means the usual cheesey crap of the last 5 months isnt as effective. Although for some reason these guys dont know how axis currently cheese in 4v4 because I've seen it myself in the games since the ridiculous hotfix.
Goes to show how 1v1 players are just playing a different game from team game players, and strategies that work in 1v1 just dont transfer to 4v4 at all.
Which is a big reason why balancing cant be solely based on 1v1.

@@seaofenergy2765This is why balance should be splitted in to 1v1 and team games... Devs should just use variables like in tunning packs.
@@zbigniew2628 that might seem like a good solution, but it would lead to relic having to keep track of balancing in different game modes (when they dont even seem capable of balancing things right now), and unintuitive gameplay for players because the same units would perform differently in different modes.
The real answer is for Relic to take 3v3/4v4 balance seriously, and look at what aspects of factions are problematic in larger game modes where resources are more abundant, force multiplication is higher due to larger armies, and there is more focus on later game play (with spamming of crutchy as hell late game offmaps like we see in these 4v4s ) and things like turtle strategies with coastal reserves BG that arent as effective in smaller game modes.
