    Thank you for this video. I've been considering using Finasteride as a preventative measure. I'm 43, but I still have a great head of hair - god willing. I would like to hold onto my hair as long as possible that's why I was seriously considering preventative protocols. But you made very good points and I will stay away from Finasteride for now. I will continue to exercise and take my high quality supplements. If it ain't broke, no need to fix it.

    Hello sir, I am male 22 years old. My father is bald.. I still have a full head of hair. But lately I see more and more thinning on the crown area I guess, more visible when it is wet. With dry hair I can easily cover it up. Now I have been prescribed with generic finasteride here, we only have 5mg tabs so my pharmacy will cut them up in 5 so I have 1mg tabs. My question to you is this.
    1. Is it good to take fin at the earliest stages of potential hair loss?
    2. Is generic fin still good? (Pharmacy)
    3. I have read people online who say there hair totally went gone after takin fin, just kept on shedding.. any thoughts on that?
    Thanks a lot doctor!

      Thanks for the query.
      If you have eastablished androgenic alopecia as diagnosed by a hair physician, you should go ahead but not if you just have a strong family history and are diagnosing AGA yourself.
      Generic is fine too. But do not change generic brands.
      Last point is incorrect. You will have initial shedding and hair loss will continue even with Finasteride since it does not block all of DHT.

    Hello sir, i am 20 years old and I noticed my receding hairline when I was 18, I think it's getting bigger compared to earlier and I am also having more hairfall compared to earlier. My hairs are thinning. So i consulted a doctor but he recommend Monoxidil. I was not ok with Monoxidil, so I never took it.
    So, is finasteride better for my receding hairline??

      @hairtransplantinindia  Місяць тому

      Finasteride is different from Minoxidil since it is a DHT blocker. If you have progressive baldness/thinning due to androgenic alopecia, your doctor will most likely advise you Tab Finasteride. Ask him.

    Hi, what is the reason for the effectivity of finasteride going down yearly after you first start taking it. I am thinking of applying rosemary oil, as it naturally blocks DHT, although I am not balding yet. However, will the effectivity of me taking finasteride be compromised when I eventually start taking it because I have applied rosemary oil which also blocks DHT prior to me balding?

    • @hairtransplantinindia
      @hairtransplantinindia  Рік тому

      Non pharmacological grade preparations or natural products are very weak in anti-DHT properties. We end up wasting time taking them- precious time when hair gets lost permanently. While taking Finasteride my switch on- switch off method is effective for Finasteride to remain effective for a long long time.

    Hello Dr, my hairline has receded over the last 7yrs. I have noticed my hair thinning and I have eczema of the scalp, the area's where my eczema were around my hairline. Those are the area's where I lost ground, Can not washing my hair enough be the reason the DHT has increased in my scalp? I'm going to start taking Ketoconazole 2% shampoo to help the DHT issues, do you think that may help stop the miniaturization of my follicles? Should I start taking Finasteride yet, or wait to see the results. I suspect my not cleaning my scalp as the reason for my hairloss. My grandfather on my father's side was bald, but he's the only person I know of. So should I start Finasteride

My question is that Does quitting finasteride cause hair loss even for people like me who didn’t suffer from hair loss and take it just as a prevention?furthermore, Does it cause brain and memory damages?And my third question is that, my sexual desire is more than before these days since I’ve started using it , Is it normal? Should I continue or stop it?

    • @hairtransplantinindia
      @hairtransplantinindia  Рік тому

      Sexual desire can be high if the excess testosterone that results due to blocking DHT does not aromatise and convert to estrogen. If you have MPB and you quit Finasteride, your condition will surely deteriorate.
      Finastreide should not be taken as preventive manner.

    Sir, I have asked my dermatologist for a recommendation to prevent hair loss and was given a prescription for finasteride. I have no visible signs of balding but was told that there's no downside to using it at my age (40) as a proactive measure. Now I have seen your video and it made me a bit insecure. I'm 3 months into the treatment and I have no side effects. What do you think?

      Partly true but as bread and butter is not very paying since it is a cheap drug. More money to be made in prescribing costlier medications with obscure benefits. Doctors who are honest and still prescribe Finasteride in today's time lose out on patients.
