This and your street food videos for Hanoi were really really interesting to watch! I'm headed to Vietnam this August, and I'll be staying in the Old Quarter of Hanoi for over a week, so I'm hoping to get out and try some of your suggestions.
Man they look so good!!! You've enjoyed some of the vietnamese deserts that I haven't tried yet and I am vietnamese! As a viet, we love the traditional creme caramel haha
They usually add kumquat or lime juice to the sugarcane juice, did they not do that to yours? It helps give it an extra dimension in flavor and aroma. :) Love all the sweets you showcased. The banh cam has always been a favorite. Did you not find any desserts wrapped and steamed or cooked over coals that have coconut/peanuts/sugar in them? Those are delicious!!!
No they Didn't, that may have made a real difference it was way too sweet.. :o) and I missed those treat, maybe next trip.. :o) Thanks for all the great comment's you must like the Vietnam Trip.. :o)
Ah Well Byron, then look for strong Green Colour, not dull and without Bruising or softness. If it's not firm, leave it. Store in the fridge or somewhere cool..

Wow! All of the desserts looks great, but, when you was in that small shop, was I correct that Michelle had the coconut geletin and you had 3 there? Don't seem fair. LOL
🙃 Nothing but the best on the streets of Hanoi Ed, funnily that happens so often all in many parts, I didn't give a thought :o) How are you buddy.. Good I hope.. Steve

The best sugar cane refreshment here is made with a lime squeezed between the cane. The lime juice really sooths the sugar.
Jorge Bizarro I work in a vietnamese restaurant and sugar cane juice is delicious!
Great video and style. Lots of substances and info, and keeping it real unlike some other food channels. Subbed
Thanks and Welcome..

I miss eating hoa qua dam in saigon when i was little
Love Ice cream.... the yellow one is very similar to a popular Green Corn (not ripe) ice cream we make here in Brazil.
I have never had that, I suspect I would love it too. Thanks
I give you points for your effort to speak Vietnamese 😅😂
Thanks I always try to speak a little wherever I visit..
I would have to say my mouth was watering with all the desserts!! Have you had the banana cake/pudding type dessert?
Thanks, no, is it from here?
Yes, it is called Banh Chuoi Nuong. Hope you can find it and try it if you like bananas!
Add lime to the sugar cane juice. That’s how my husband usually gets it for me.
The place I get sugar cane juice from add kumquat juice to it and it helps cut the sweetness.
I love the bubble waffles. Cam on Steve & Michelle :)
Cam On Marie.. I liked that too but I liked it all :o)
Mmm, black sticky rice looked intriguing. Did it taste like black treacle/burnt sugar?
The Black sticky Rice is a favourite of mine Sam, it's not too sweet but it so good, I'll make it on the channel when we get a Kitchen next.. Thanks

Yes it was pretty impressive.. :)
Hi, Steve. Those desserts look simply delish. What's the best way to get the best cucumber? Have a good day, Steve.
Hi Byron.. Thank you Buddy, do you mean to grow or buy?
Steve's Kitchen I am talking about buying them.
