I love structure deck duels! Especially character-based ones. This is honestly the pace duels should always be - so much more interesting and fun with variety.
This is a heavily edited and possibly setup duel. We do duel videos as well and recently are working on Spirit Charmers vs Sacred Beast and we've recorded at least 50 real duels so far and they all are very long (the decks are not balanced, and Sacred Beast structure deck is a brick). So we're going to have to setup the decks a bit to make the viewing experience better! PS: I agree - structure deck duels are fun and expose you to a lot of new strategies and possibilities. Team APS does a really good job. If these are raw duels (non-setup) I wonder how many times they recorded before they settled on these three duels
The craziest thing is... I got back into yugioh and I got these two structures not knowing how older they are and they kinda made me feel bad but seeing you guys play with them makes me feel better
@@Accion_y_Pasion Ey man, may I ask how old you are? In different ages you have different ways of connecting with people who play the game. Like in middle school I learned Magic the Gathering and in the local game shop of the small town I lived. We would see each other at school, in the shop, and went to concerts and festivals together. This means you can meet people who play the games you play in several places, and grow friendships with them because you hang out in more than one place and share more than 1 interest. (during COVID and lockdowns going around, it is different of course, but keep these things in mind for when the possibilities appear) You might also reach out to friends or maybe even family that might be interested in playing the game. People are way more at home and bored right now. Learning a cardgame and having fun one-on-one might be perfect to kill time and have fun (while even training your brain btw!). College age is kinda the same. If your more the 'adult and working age', other possibilities present themself. More money available and being able to drive makes it possible to search your cardgame friends further from home. Search on facebook for example. Type in YuGiOh and your town/region/... and see what pops up. My experience is that you rather have a nice community, than a nearby community. I'd say try out what's available to you right now. Cause these are crazy times and people just NEED some social connection.
PS: don't be afraid to switch plans when you feel like it's the better thing to do For example in my community the Magic the Gathering players are more my kind of people than the YuGiOh players. Starter decks are often cheap or free for several card games I know. Good luck man!!

@@Accion_y_Pasion if your looking for a more modern structure deck to start with, I highly recommend the one called “Shaddoll Showdown”. Shaddolls in general are really good as a budget deck and the structure deck comes with all the cards you need to start if you buy 3 (since each is $10, 3 would be $30 but its always better to buy 3). If you want another really cheap option, the “Tenyi” archetype is extremely cheap and good for a budget beginner’s deck. You could always look up decklists online and join either Team APS’s discord (or any other yugioh one), and they’ll help you make the deck. Hope this helps :)

I have been playing duel links and hesitant to coming back to the card game becsuse reading is hard. Yalls videos help and this format was sick!!! Very helpful and fun to watch
I'm very happy that you still make duels like this. Just like in the old times of Yu-Gi-Oh!. The Blue-Eyes deck was actually pretty well-built I think. It had most of the important cards for Blue-Eyes. And I have to mansion how much I appritiate these duels of yours. I enjoy it so much to watch you duel. Alec so good to see your passion about the whole thing!
Dumb question, why can't you use Contrast's effect during the damage step? I'm still kind of new to the game and don't know exactly why monster effects seem to always not be allowed during that phase except with rare circumstances.
During the damage step you can only activate cards that change a monster's attack or defense. Paul activated his card effect to increase the attack of his monster but Alec could not activate his effect because it does not change the attack or defense of a monster. Counter Traps are the only exception to this rule.
I remember buying two hero decks from target around this time. Opened the first one all was normal. The second one had a second copy of all the holos. My friend was pissed.

hero strike was my firstt deck/structure deck and im so happy to see you finally decided to show off how good it is
Best Yu-Gi-Oh structure decks
3:31-3:35 He can totally do that since it's Alec's turn.
7:24 It's only 1200. It's only 1200... OH, Sheep! It's at 1200!
10:07 Que the 1960's Batman theme!
10:38 I used to have that card! Wow!
11:03 Had to check that ruling out. Pretty smart!
11:35 That's it, dude! "Game over, man! Game Over!"
13:08 That's a good one!
13:48 The one card that's missing from this deck is Dragon's Rage!
14:23 Not again!
15;25 I missed out on a lot in the past 5 years!
15:40 What were you thinking when you pull that play?
16:13 That was a Big Brain move! I'll give you that one! Well played.
16:40 Not again! How does he keep getting these cards at the right time?! The heart of the cards is super strong in this duel!
17:33 Place your head between your legs and kiss your butt good-bye! What a send off!
Big fan keep it up
I really liked this video. The way they let us know every phase and every effect. I haven’t played in so long but I’m thinking about getting back to collecting and dueling again. Man I wish I still had all my cards lol
I have been playing duel links and hesitant to coming back to the card game becsuse reading is hard. Yalls videos help and this format was sick!!! Very helpful and fun to watch
Loong I was waiting finally 😀
Cool video guys, but notice at 14:50, Koga only reduces attack until the end of this turn and not permanently
this reminds me of the days when decks still used traps and weren't all meta decks
masked hero koga underrated
i found the blue eyes deck at my local walmart and was very confused
These vids are honestly getting me back interested in yugioh lmao, the Blue-Eyes one was first deck I could remember having x3
Gotta love the joyous Yudai theme in the background. Awesome duel
Its fun when a duel is close and takes many turns rather than summoning a bunch of monsters and win in one turn
Cyber Dragons feel personally attacked
great video, Koga's reducing effect is until the end phase btw lol.
