This is one of my favorite IPA's that I look forward to every year, the taste is not a typical IPA taste. Very well crafted. I never get tired of watching people like you Joe review this beer each year. Cheers to S.N. for not discontinuing this brew and hopefully never will.
This is one of those beers that I have developed a great appreciation for over the years, especially in the last 3-4 years. You hit the nail on the head when you mentioned the consistency. SN seems to specialize in producing consistent brews. Thanks for another great review.
I went to Portland 6 years ago for my anniversary and with all the amazing breweries out there, we spent the most time at Fat Head. I was bummed when they left that place. I miss Head Hunter and Sunshine Daydream!
Been watching your reviews for a few years, its hard to imagine its been a year already. Crazy, I look forward to you enjoying this classic. Take good care and enjoy your case!
Long Live Sierra Nevada I love this beer, and pray that it never goes out of style. I do believe you are right, this is a right of passage for any passionate fan of beer. Anyone who understands great beer should be able to enjoy this one. It’s the epitome of balance the same way Two Hearted, Trumer Pils, or a perfect pour of Guinness offer a perfect balance. This beer has perfect harmony of malt and hop character and anyone who loves beer will recognize and appreciate it.
Not only do I look forward to this every year, I also look forward to your review. Sierra Nevada Pale ale was one of my first "micro" beers ever. It was also on tap. Thirty years later, I still go to this same place for very different beers. Calibration Ale is a classic seasonal offering. Thanks Joe.
@@jsenigaglia dropped in my hometown this afternoon. I took your advice and just stocked my beer fridge with 4 12 pks. That’ll help get me through the cold ass winter up here! Can’t wait for that Amber colored nectar to hit the ole taste buds haha Cheers Joe 🍻
Love this beer, being in the southwest its a perfect winter seasonal. A lot of the really spiced winter beers and winter warmers are too much for the warm winters. Celebration is perfect for Southern California or AZ winters.
I always look forward to this brew. Have you had Half Acre's Tend yet? A winter seasonal IPA that is old school, and similar to Celebration though I'd say more balanced. Really an incredible IPA
That is my absolute fav Sierra Nevada Beer and look forward to it every season. This beats every hazy beer on the market for me . Will be picking some up this week .
STILL one of my absolute favorite beers of all time. Went to the release party for the 2023 batch at the SN Mills River location here in NC and they had a version of this on tap with spruce tips. My guy, I cannot express how much that beer fucked. And they're releasing Celedrippings here in December at the brewery... 100% my favorite time of the year.
My local grocery store had it the other day, I screamed like a little girl! The flavor of this beer is unmatched, the holiday season has begun in October this year. It gives a head like a root beer float...
@@twobeer3316 damn, Modesto?! Haven't thought about that place in years. One of my wifes first teaching jobs ever was at Modesto JC. That seems like forever ago.
Hi Joe, Thanks for the great review! I really could not agree more with all your thoughts about this beer. There really is no other beer like celebration. A timeless classic without a doubt. And I was able to pick up a 12 pack here in Jersey for $15.99!! What a bargain!! Cheaper than miller or coors. LOL!
I love this beer ! It's a beer I look forward to every year and it never disappoints. Also, how about a shout out to Sierra Nevada who still continues to brew delicious hoppy beers despite the nay sayers that predicted their demise after the mega sale. On a personal note my wife and I just got back from visiting friends in Flat Rock North Carolina, just next door to Asheville. We hit up the Sierra Nevada compound in Mills River and I was totally blown away with every beer we had, so many one off's on tap that you would have loved, they did a DDH take on the Pale Ale that I can still smell and taste, the place looks like a French Chateau, the property is insane ! OK, now I need to snag a sixer to crush tomorrow ! Cheers amigo !
It's consistent but there is variation year to year. I recall 2019 being especially good. This year is the best in recent memory. Finished my first can in 4 sips.
I'm with you all the way, this is an absolutely special beer. I honestly rate it a 10 out of 10. There is something magical about the Piney flavor with the great malt character. It's just so good, and it never isn't good. I buy it in bulk, up to 4 cases a year.
20 years ago ya could only buy 10% SN Snocaps during December. Second best beer I ever savoured. The best was a single bottle of low abv Tecate, which is still the only beer that made me feel like it was a truly beautiful night out at a restaurant with my 140 lb anchor. But that was the only one ever to beat my homebrew. He knows he's drinking one of the best. I sure wish I had ever looked as handsome as him.
We went over this last year didn't we?😆 It's canned conditioned for 10-14 days in cold storage at one of the SN breweries. I hate to see the Oktoberfest beers fade in the rear view mirror but the arrival of Celebration Ale makes everything A-OK (better actually).
Not sure if we went over it last year or not, buy Sierra Nevada always can/bottle conditions their original lineup. That’s Pale Ale, Porter, Celebration and Stout. Sierra Nevada is one of the only breweries to can condition their core brands. They barley use secondary fermentation in any other beers. Just Belgian and/or sour beers in bottle format
This beer reminds me of being a broke college kid, barely 21, living in the bay area and picking some up in the Fall time from a Walgreens or something, good times. People hate on Sierra Nevada, but I think they are way under-rated and unappreciated for just being great, anytime beer that doesn't break the bank, tastes great, gives you a nice buzz, what more can one ask for? lol
I love this beer too, it's easily one of my favorite beers. Not happy about the price increase though. Last year in my area it was $17.99 for a 12-pack, this year it's $21.99.
Joe, SN is notoriously known for distro-aging everything. That said, you are 100% correct that Celebration ages well, if you’re into that. By the way, let’s meet up sometime for brews. Love you, man.
I’d love that my friend. I’ll hit you up after Thanksgiving! We’re going back to Japan so the next few weekends leading up to that trip are gonna be super hectic 🍻❤️
12.99 for a sixer of 12 oz. cans/bottles is not bad, we've got 12.99 for a four pack of 16 oz. A Sixer of 12 oz. gives you an extra 8 oz. of beer at least. Love the Celebration beer, btw
My favorite Sierra Nevada IPA and quite possibly my favorite non-Double IPA. That is to say if Pliny The Elder isn’t a DIPA, but at 8% abv, I’m just gonna say that it is.
the distributor will hold the next seasonal until the previous one is depleted , probably why your just getting it . I worked for Crest your local distributor for 13 years .
